Good workout! Slightly less than 10 minutes, the machine marks 8:30. Still good burn.

First time here, finally, a workout for this Skierg! I am not an actual skier but I really enjoyed this workout. I usually use this machine like the concept 2 rowing machine. I row downward 😂. Thank you though. I subscribed just now and will check your videos..

Do you have a damaged or torn rotar cuff? If you do, I would consult your doctor or primary care physician to ask if this is ok for you to Start. Also, here is a shoulder rehab workout I made for a client who needed extra mobility and strengthening of the shoulder from a previous injury and had limited range of motion. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXyYfWCHn7-fipI You could ask your doctor if this is safe for you to try. Are you currently able to workout, does your shoulder hurt or bother you at all while training right now?

There can be some pressure on the knees, but I wouldn't recommend starting with this based on what you just said. I might try this Knee Pain Workout kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZ2Tppqjp8h9jtU Combined with Lower Body Foam Rolling kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYi3gouoaMqnr7c To help relieve some pressure off of the knees before using the ski erg. If/ when you do decide to try the ski erg, please be sure to push through your heels driving force through your glutes as you bend down pushing your hips back, rather than putting any pressure on your knees pushing them forward.

It's 10 rounds 45 seconds work/ 15 seconds rest It's definitely a challenge trying to push yourself! Let me know how you feel when you try this?

Hmmm. interesting use of the SkiErg. Take care tho' it really should only be used as an alternative to skiing... i.e. same technique that you would use when double poling . All other stuff is at best funny at worst dowright dangerous. Why not just use the other specific rigs in the gym? Do not attempt the Michael Phelps thing out of water, thats going to blow your rotator cuffs in no time. That aside used 'properly' just like any other piece of equipment, the SkiErg is the No.1 rig for edurance , core and primarly upper body conditioning. Beware, Its a tough mistress. I have been using this at home for a few years now. Takes up less room than the RowErg. As for timing workouts, the SkiErg has all that you need built into the PM5 computer. No apps req. Tip: get yourself a USB stick, format and load the C2 Logbook data recorder on it and then use the PM5 to build your own programs of workouts and save to the USB log. Hey, If you get to enjoy ? the SkiErg why not have fun and enter some your workouts to the World Rankings? (C2 Online Rankings page), a great way to ' compete' online and also to measure your progress. Best investment I made at the start of the big 'lockdown'. How much have I used it?...since March 20...4,226,016 meters on the SkiErg alone. Final word of warning..it is addictive. My fav workout is variable 'pyramid' intervals: Warm up 3mins, with 35 secs recovery between each workout. 100m @ 110watts 200m@ 120w 300m@130w 400m@140w 500m@150w 1000m@230w 1000m@230w then back down thru 500, 400, 300 etc at the watts stated. fav track...Trumpster

Hey Matthew, I sincerely appreciate your comment!🙇‍♂️ Yes, I 100% Agree about the technique for double poling like you are skiing, hence the name "Ski Erg". That is the most efficient way to use it and how I generally use it the most when I'm trying to go really hard at the exercise. I made this video when I just bought the machine and was trying a different format that works a different set of muscles. I must say I have some pretty good routines on this thing now, so I will totally make an updated video soon in the near future! My favorite way for tightening up my mid section is getting into a split lunge position and performing a downward cable chop motion with it. My obliques and Quads get LIT UP!😂 Yes, The Michael Phelps breast stroke technique could do some damage to the shoulder if you are not careful, so, making sure you don't have any shoulder impingemnts or tight spots is a must before attempting it. Foam Rolling the Lats & Triceps can help further loosen you up for this exercise. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYfVeoV4ed1nr5I Ever since I've personally been using this Ski Erg and experimenting with various techniques, my shoulders have felt better than ever. My Triceps and Lats get a MAJOR PUMP from just using this machine the traditional way. I'm not sure if anyone else feels this, but it works for me. Of course my legs are working, but my arms get smoked! Thanks so much for reccomending the Watts feature and training format. I honestly have never pushed the units button to see everything it measured lol. I just use the machine for timed intervals. The pace setter seems pretty cool too to compare your efforts from the previous runs. I actually used the Watts feature the first time today at the gym after you commented about it, so thanks for mentionnig it man💪 Nice to use power output as a pace setter, kind of like I do on the assualt bike. Not sure why I never gave it much thought for the Ski Erg. I will totally reccomend this feature in the future. If you have any extra thoughs or comments for any of my other videos and how I can improve this channel so it's even better, please, don't hesitate to comment and let me know. I always try these things first to make sure they aren't too dangerous. Hey John, I'm using that "Seconds" app. The free version only allows you to store one type of workout at a time. I have the paid version where you can setup a lot of different templates. I like it a lot!💪🏼 I hope you enjoyed the workout🙏🏼

Honestly sometimes I do stick with just the double poling technique just to get my heart rate going. But when I want a harder workout for my legs, I add in my lunges, & Split Lunge Rotational Twists. I'll have to show you what I'm talking about in another video. The other stuff REALLY helps with Snowboarding👊🏼 Do you Ski or Snowboard at all?

Hey John, I appreciate you trying the workout🙏🏼 If you pay for KZbin premium, you won't have any ads. If you're on youtube a lot, it's really worth it. That way you can do as many workouts as you want without ads. The music is by Neffex, and I like it alot, it really pumps me up to workout. I wouldn't describe their music as prejudice against women. If you listen most of the songs, it's mostly lyrics about working hard and being your best. But it's what I like. You can always just stream it to your TV and play your own music. Just use the seconds app for your timer. I use the 45/15 format in most of my videos. What kind of music do you like to listen to?

As a content creator, it gets challenging to find music that won't get me a copyright strike or claim. This is why I used this for some of my videos. Plus, this music Pumps me up to workout💪🏼 What kind of music do you like to listen to?

Nothing comes close to skiing other than skiing. If you just keep your arms straight, its basically pushing yourself across flat terrain. Yet, you still will get one heck of a workout to help your body look better if you add in some other movements💪🏼

Hey Maggie, Glad you enjoyed the Workout! Sorry you didn't like the music. It was a song called Rumors by Neffex. He produces a ton of different music, and a lot of those songs pump me up to workout. All of those songs are copyright free, so it was easier for me to use it and not worry about all of the copyright infringement stuff. But I'm aware the music I like may not be what everyone else likes. Most of my newer content is more instructional with light background music. I'm definitely going to update this workout though. What's some of your favorite songs so I can get an idea of the music you like?

Wow thank you so much for the kind response. I appreciate it! Also, I understand where you’re coming from about music licensing. Admittedly, I know little about what is licensed and what is not…. But my current favorite workout song is Soundgarten’s Rusty Cage covered by Johnny Cash. But I wonder if you could find some good music that has a similar vibe to Alt-J or M83, which is electronic/dance music. It’s high energy music that may be more readily available in non-liscensed form. I appreciate your humble response. The workout really was great. All the best.

You're not the first one to mention that. But, the Artist Neffex creates a ton of copyright free songs that makes it easy for me to add in my content without the worry of receiving copyright strikes, which is mainly why I went with that Artist. I just happened to pick a more aggressive song that fires me up since this was a challenging workout. But I'll keep that in mind when I make a future ski erg workout. about music that everyone may like. What kind of music do you Like to workout to Sandy? Whats your favorite few songs in your playlist these days?
