Beans, fried potatoes, and cornbread were a regular in our house as well when I was growing up, and it was one of my favorite meals. I wonder how that combination got started. When we had pinto beans in our school lunch, I'd crumble up my cornbread in there too. I also do it at BBQ joints. It's the best way to eat beans. Sometimes folks wonder what I'm doing, but they just don't know what they're missing.

Talli Faye, thank you so much for making this meal. I didn't mind that you videoed it at different times of the day. I know you're a busy woman and you've got "get up & go" like the energy bunny. It's when you put it all together and raised that plate up to the camera...oh man, it was like Thanksgiving! That's the comfort meals we had growing up. I'll never get a favorable meal like that unless it's homemade.

That supper of yours looks great. My Mama used to do potatoes and onions. I loved them. I have never heard of bean goulash but it does look really good. The bread pudding looks great as well. I have never made bread pudding and my Mama never made it but I have had it before. Thanks for sharing your good meal with us.

How do you keep your potatoes from sticking, am I not using enough grease, not hot enough pan or what.. mine always stick

Make sure your skillet and grease are hot before dropping your potatoes in…. Then don’t touch them for a few minutes… When you think they’re starting to brown on the bottom, take your spatula and lift the outer edge to see if they release and beginning to brown… if not… wait and check again… Then start flipping them over and wait again… repeat… any skillet other than a stainless… I never have luck with stainless
