Cassandra Bankson Cassandra, I have a question that I’ve been looking for an answer for, and asking every skincare content creator I can find, and I haven’t found anyone who knows (or has answered) 🤞🏻. I have a connective tissue disorder, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (Hypermobility type, specifically, but there are 13 different types, all rare). The disease affects the collagen in the body, in every system and organ, so I have many doctors and spend all of my time and money on appointments trying to gain better quality of life. I can’t afford a dermatologist, but I have one question I cannot find the answer to: if my collagen is faulty, how do I care for my skin?? There’s so many products that are based around collagen and boosting collagen production, but mine is “broken”, so it isn’t as stretchy as it should be. For example, my joints dislocate constantly, and as that happens my ligaments and tendons become even looser (they are already very loose, hence the dislocating constantly), instead on bouncing back. Do I still use ingredients to focus on building that collagen? And would you ever do a video for us EDS peeps? There’s actually a lot of us, despite the lack of awareness and doctors who know what it is, and I know it would be a first to have some answers on this topic!

You have to remember, in this day and age, critique = mean.... These days, everyone gets a “gold star”, for just existing. Critique people on anything and they’ll see it as being mean, and cruel.

I guess the part where she says that she tries not to judge other people for what they eat "even if it goes against morals and values." It was kind of a passive aggressive jab towards people who aren't vegan. As if eating meat means you are immoral or something.

I cant believe or understand why she isnt rinsing her face just to “save” water but then using a million other products to rinse her skin from her initial cleansers, which is more water used to produce those products, so shes just using it in another way instead of coming from her tab its coming from the products so she isnt saving water in any way. Then also to add to it, she doesnt cleanse her skin properly cause shes using micellar water to get rid of the inital cleansers, which contain surfactants thats shes leaving on the skin, not rinsing off, which are properly the reason why her skin is super dry and oily 😫... mind blown.... 😐
@pongo52714 жыл бұрын
And on top of that she's just producing more waste from the packaging those products come in. This logic is like saying you're trying to use less water, by only using plastic bottles of water...god bless her

It always amazes me how people think they’re experts and give out tutorials on things that they’ve really just started using, or things they’ve heard from other people, but they themselves haven’t done extensive research on, or haven’t checked with doctors on. As a side note I find it very interesting how people are so adamant that you be super gentle with your face and only pat it with your ring fingers, never rub, and never use makeup wipes cause they’re way too “rough” on your skin, but then they go and get Botox injections, or micro needling, or do those acid treatments that basically burn the top layer of skin off, or a thousand other things that are apparently beneficial but still definitely not gentle. Your skin can obviously handle a lot of crap, and rubbing in a moisturizer or using a makeup wipe isn’t going to hurt your skin. You can’t have it both ways is all.
@monamalek24 жыл бұрын
she is actually not giving tutorials or trying to "teach ", She is just saying what she does.
@loshmo48604 жыл бұрын
To be fair, there is a certain irony to a comment that says that people who are not experts are making claims about what works with skin care and then follow that up with a claim about being gentle with your skin and then doing non gentle things when you don’t really know which things cause long-term consequences and which don’t.

skincare can’t prevent you from looking old lol
@velle29244 жыл бұрын
Naomi it can. At least until a certain age. Exfoliating, accelerates cell turnover and boosts collagen production as can other ingredients in your skin care. Moisturizing can plump up the skin and temporarily fill in those fine lines and wrinkles. At a certain point though, you’d just have to get Botox/fillers if you aren’t blessed genetically. But skincare can definitely help.
@bobatealover96074 жыл бұрын
Velle Yeah I guess but she still looks old lol
@velle29244 жыл бұрын
Naomi Well true. For most people, no product or procedure can conceal ones true age. She has tight, glowy skin, tighter than women her age, but she can’t pass for 25. I guessed over 4O. 45-46.
@littleblackpistol4 жыл бұрын
She actally doesn't look too 'maintained' at all. Rather typical of midlife Asian women who have avoided the sun their whole life and haven't smoked, or become fat and gotten extra chins and jowls and flab around their jaws. Looking great in middle age is less genetics, more the fact that Asian women typically are taught from childhood to NEVER sunbathe, tan and to protect their skin from the sun. They use high factor sunscreens as daily practice from an early age, and cover their skin to avoid it rather than exposing it. Getting darker is a huge no-no all over Asia and Chinese diaspora are no different. I lived in Sinagpore in two complexes with swimming pools and you never saw a single ethnic Chinese resident use those pools until it was dark, to avoid getting darker. Westerners used it in the sun and in the evenings, Chinese only came out at night, in the pitch dark to swim. Pure sun avoidance is drummed into them. Anyway, she looks great, but not like she's half her age. You can clearly see the normal signs of gravity on her face. She doesn't look filled or majorly botoxed either. I guessed her at mid-forties, and then looked up her real age - she's 48.

Also of Soldiers, we call it "Power-soup", and it have to cook the whole Day, minimum, to get the Gold and important Stuff out of the broken Bones i! You habe your Opinion - I've mine! 😍👍😀 But there must be something great with this Food-Tip of the Chinese-Lady! Does anyone else prefer to not remove their sebaceous filaments? I obviously clean my face, but I feel like when my sebaceous filaments are gone my pores look MASSIVE and not great. Is it unhealthy to not clean them out?

I used to but mine always come back so I just leave them too. I’d like to know what products she recommends to get rid of them

Me. It's unneccessary. They will always come back, no matter what you do. Wasted time imo. The only people who don't have it are face models photoshopped to death.

I'd love to see you react to some of the KZbin aestheticians who video extractions- like Loan Nuyen and Enilsa. Thanks! (I just watched my first video and enjoyed your casual chat style, and the science you use to explain your thoughts. I'm learning!)

When i was really really young (before youtube or any social media), i found that there is a scar in my cheek that is no going away. So i decided it is because my diy products are not sinking in. So i took a safety pin and gave it a couple of pinch so that my diy products will sink in. It went away though. I cant imagine the horror when i discovered derma needling and its possile side effects. I did a cave woman derma needling.

I don't see the skin scrapper recommendations. Would you be able to provide some?

If she uses an oil based makeup remover... and then a foaming cleanser... and then a micellar water... why does she THEN need a makeup wipe to remove her eye makeup?!? She used more than 3 products in just that 1 step!! ... and they all cancelled each other out?!?! MOOOOOOOMMMM, come pick me up. I'm scared.

I have posted this in some other reaction video to her skincare routine but it is really important to use the protective gel base when using tripollar stop devices! I have been using tripollar devices for a long time and it is so surprising for me that she did not use any pretreatment gel! I am still using stop v, which is a slightly older device but I am pretty sure that the newer one still requires a layer of base to provide protection your face from the heat (it is actually really hot and burns even with the base sometime if you accidentally stop moving the device for a second!!) It is scary to see the way she was using the tripollar

11 PRODUCTS: Actually she used 4 cleansing products: oil cleanser, gel cleanser, cleansing water, and cleansing wipes. Then a spray water in between. Then 3 main products: serum, moisturizer, and eye cream. Plus 3 extras: lip balm, lip gloss, and face oil. So a total of 11 products! 😆

She didn’t use lip gloss, it was a lip scrub first and a lip balm after, but she said “I used to use 13 products!”, I wonder if that included 8 other products too 😂
