What if on the left side it stars at the bank it doesn't show the midi audio and sequence bars bpm etc as it goes down,im trying to learn this software,im used to being in stand alone mode..

You need to tick its boxes in audio set up control surfaces . Should show up in a drop-down list.

The software version (just like any other daw) allows you to use 3rd party VST(i)s (although VST3 isn't currently supported). Also, you're limited to 8 stereo tracks in standalone as opposed countless more in the software version. Features like "stems" is better in the software version due to your computer's processor being more powerful than the ones in the hardware. But honestly, the ability to use 3rd party vst(i)s IS the biggest "flex" when it comes to working in "controller mode" (software version). Also, most of us have pro-level audio interfaces that give you arguably a "better sound" and more I/O flexibility than standalone. That aside, I thoroughly enjoy working in standalone first, and then I finish mixing and arranging in PT or Srudio One 7.
