it's all good until i try to add a cat motion layer then it crashes everytime. i can't see a reason why. is this something you have experienced? Cheers!

Don't speed it up, it may be boring, but it's vital, it took me a good 30 minutes of searching and reviewing the video just to see why it wasn't leaving keyframes and why there where some skinning problems.

Nice demo and tips on 3ds CAT workflow. Different to 3ds Max 'boning' where you paint the weights on the skin etc

in my case chest is not rotating with parent spine below it.... and similarly head is not rotating with neck .... help pls

When I click on the model, it selects it as a whole mesh, even though I checked Select Element, and the weights box is greyed out. How do I fix this?

When I apply the motion layer to test out after the Skin bind, the character shrinks down really small and gets very scrunched up. If I remove the motion layer and manually move any part of the right it works fine. Is this is a scale problem on the rig itself? My CAT units ratio is 0.38. Not sure if that affects anything?

Hey James. No, CAT units ratio should have nothing to do with it. Seems like there is another problem but not sure what just from the text. Join my discord server (discord.gg/kUQxSaJ) to post your scene and maybe I or someone else there, can help you with it.

Hey man love your videoes. Can you tell me what hotkey you use to make the selection into a wirefram without everything turning into wireframe. I know i can use Wireframe option in top left hand corner to move between perspective and orthograpic. But if i apply wireframe here all models become wireframe.

Hey! That's actually not a viewport setting. All the CAT bones are set to be 'displayed as box', which makes them wireframed basically, because they are just boxes anyway. Go to the 'Display' panel (the fifth one) and under the 'Display Properties' tab check 'Display as Box' option. I also do it in this video for example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5Tam5SElLurrrs

The same way. Just apply skin to each of the parts you have. And inside the Skin modifier, you can put only those bones that you need for that particular part.

Select bones, head to the "Display" tab (the fifth one) and check "Display as Box". You can see me doing it several times in the Part 1 kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZrVenqmntGSqLsm42s (even though I don't mention it).
