Skip gives MJ too much credit like everyone else in the media. Hes an all time great and dominated in his prime. You cant leave 1-9 in first round off of his resume before pippen and phil. You guys cant forget that he retired for 2 years. That helped him rejuvenate and win 3 more. I dont give a pass to lebron for losing to the Mavs in 2011. Then seeming to take a break on defense in the 2018 finals and he had the cramp game in 2014 finals. Skip is over his head on this one. I love MJ and he is a top 3 great but everyone gives him too much credit. Hes a very talented legend, who never backed down from a challenge and was the ultimate competitor. Great 1 on 1 bball player but this is a team game.

Shannon always emphasize how Lebron averages more assists then Jordan, so Lebron = goat. Now he is criticizing Jordan for having 10 assists in that game and average 11.4 for the series! He always contradict himself
@cyber6sapien4 жыл бұрын
@@mbaldwin2222 My point in mentioning Jordan's statline in the series is that Shannon made it seem like Jordan still wasn't trusting his teammates until that particular game. BTW, Jordan's performance in the 1991 series is still ESPN's #1 ranked finals performance of all time. While it is impressive that Lebron was able to do that in 2016, that is not a recipe for sustained success. In fact, it is indicative of why Lebron has lost so many Finals. Lebron plays in his own system, and he is the center of everything regardless of which team he plays on. When you play in an effective offensive system, your teammates' talents also get a chance to shine. That's why a player like Tim Duncan would never end up leading the Spurs in every category in the Finals. But that's also why Duncan has 5 ch'ips in 6 attempts. The Spurs never traded for a superstar during Duncan's tenure and never got a high draft pick while he was there. (Nobody knew Kawhi would be as good as he eventually became.)Yet Lebron has played with numerous stars and all stars throughout his career, but "never has enough help" in the Finals. The question is why?
@JustAMessenger-o7g4 жыл бұрын
cyber6sapien very true. That is also why lebron teams always tank after he leaves. When someone is the”be all end all center of the universe” type player, the team will crumble once he leaves. When Jordan left the bulls the first time, one of the reasons they could still do well is because they had a good system in place.

@liammilne22424 жыл бұрын
ChiRilla You do get that running the triangle doesn’t diminish everybody’s stats right? It specifically encourages ball movement as clearly expressed in the documentary and is just common knowledge. What does that mean? Well it means that star player/s like jordan would see less of the ball and lead to a drop in stats. Where does the ball go? It moves around more and ends up in the hands of a player like paxson. So if paxson is getting the ball more in this new offence he will shoot more, more shots and just more touches will lead to more points and more assists etc so how exactly would the triangle offence lower his stats? It increases movement and touches for the guys who are on rotational minutes so everybody gets consistent shots. It stops cold hands and keeps people hot. So it does the opposite of what you are suggesting. It does however reduce jordan’s stats as we know.

Two of the most meaningful stats is PER (player efficiency rating), and Win Shares per 48min. MJ leads both #1 All-Time, also leads #1 All-time in PPG while shooting 50%. The advanced numbers suggest Jordan is better, you take these impressive numbers and add 6 finals MVPs, it's a no brainer. Jordan is the GOAT.

@TariqLopez4 жыл бұрын
You don’t think teammates affect your PER, Scottie was better than dwade 6 years removed from a title in 2012-2013, Dennis rodman is way better all time than Chris bosh. Every other team Lebron has been on up until now would barely be a playoff team without him. Even LA now would let make it out the first round in the west with only AD. Also don’t forget the competition, Talent level and players controlling their own destiny has changed the NBA landscape. The warriors when lebron beat them were better than any team Jordan faced and the bulls themselves 😂

If Skip would not be a hypocrite in making his points and not be so bias. Then Shannon wouldnt keep debating him trying to point it out. I think most know that MJ was the greatest. But when they keep acting like he did it all by himself. And\or penalize Lebron for doing something that \MJ also did. Every time you speak about either one of them. Lakers and Celtics used fast break so nba had a slew of fast break teams. the fast break teams were the Celtics, Lakers, Blazers, Cavs, Bucks, and Orlando Magic among others after Pistons won back-to-back with just thier defense, nba now had teams that emphasized defense like the Bad Boys, Bulls, Miami, Knicks, Pacers among others

@@nitrofast16 Lebron gets killed because there are times when he checked out a winnable game and the 4th quarter completely. There are also times when Lebron has the ball for most of the shot clock then passes to his teammates at the last second forcing his teammates to rush an off balance jump shot. That's where the criticism comes in. MJ and other star players already has their mind made up on what they are going to do in the final seconds of the game. Lebron often looks like he doesn't know what to do. Its like he isn't sure if he should drive or pull up and knock down a 3. While thinking he runs down the clock passing the ball to his teammates who are open, but they have to rush the shot. If you want to give Lebron a pass, you can argue that he didn't have the right coaches at the time to teach him what to do in those closing seconds

Shannon, Paxson's shot is not on the same level as Ray Allen's 3 pointer... Paxson was an example of feeding the hot hand and the Bulls were up 3-1... If Ray's shot doesn't fall, the Spurs are your 2013 NBA champs. You also have to consider the circumstances. 91 was important to MJ because the Bulls kept coming up short to the pistons and Michael was known as a guy who could score but couldn't win. 91 was a must win so I will give Shannon credit there. 2013 was a must win for LBJ and the Heat because A. It was LeBron's best season and the heat were BY FAR the best team in the league that year. The Heat were LOADED and were crushing everyone that season. B. People were not counting the 2012 championship at the time because it was a lockout season. The warriors actually got less hate than the Heatles did, the media and fans LOATHED those Miami Heat teams. The Heat had to repeat at ALL COSTS and both the Pacers and the Spurs took them a lot further than they were supposed to. No disrespect to either team, but that year the heat were a lot better that season and were supposed to handle both teams in 5-6 games. The only reason the Heat struggled so much against the Spurs was because Danny Green and Patty Mills COULD NOT MISS A DAMN 3 and were setting 3 point records almost every single game. That was a huge weakness of the Miami team, they were terrible at guarding the 3 point line and terrible at rebounding. Boris Diaw, a guy who had no business giving LeBron trouble on defense was also his primary defender that series and was giving him fits. If you think LBJ get's smack for the 2011 meltdown now, then just imagine how badly he would've gotten smack for it if they lost against the Spurs in 2013. You could overlook 2014 because that team was finished and the Heat did something the Spurs never did, and that was re-peat. Some people including my self do not really care too much about 2014 because the Heat got the job done in 2013. LeBron's rings were already validated due to that win, but that would not have been the case if Ray Allen didn't force an overtime in game 6.

Shannon's love for LeBron was entertaining when Undisputed started, but it's getting pretty tiring when his opinion on everything basketball is influenced by his love for LeBron.
