Apple cider is quiet expensive in our place, most common in our place is coming from sugar cane vinegar it's very clear like water with 4.5 acidity
@RhondaO2 ай бұрын
Wouldn't that defeat the purpose if it's made from SUGAR cane?
@Draggonny8 күн бұрын
@@RhondaO Not necessarily. Vinegar is fermented, much like alcohol. The yeast and bacteria feed off of the sugar and turn it into other substances. So in beer it's alcohol and carbon dioxide. In vinegar it has an extra step where the alcohol is converted into acetic acid. That's how wine ends up tasting like vinegar if you open it and leave it to sit at room temperature for a few days. It literally turns into vinegar. If all of the sugar was converted then there would be no sugar in the end product. So all vinegar has to have contained sugar in some form for the fermentation process to happen but the end product will contain much less sugar than it started with.

What about Apple cider Vinegar eroding your teeth if you do it regularly? I saw this ... Apple cider vinegar has a pH level of around 3, making it highly acidic. The environment within the mouth only needs to be at pH 5.5 for enamel to begin dissolving. Therefore exposing teeth to an acidic pH level of 3 daily is detrimental to your tooth enamel. Within weeks, the enamel can become significantly eroded

Dear Glucose Goddess (@Glucose Revolution), I'm doing the vinegar hack and I'm doing it with white vinegar. Unpleasant in the beginning, almost disgusting, but after a few days it became almost normal. Yesterday, the vinegar bottle run off and I forgot to buy a new one. So, I tried with apple vinegar, same brand, but it tasted really really sweet... is that normal? I have to say that, as much as possible, I've cut all sugar from every meal, could it be related?
@Draggonny8 күн бұрын
Cutting out sugar will mean that your sense of taste becomes more sensitive to the taste of natural sugars. Vinegar is made from sugar so depending on how much of the sugar is converted to acetic acid, it can contain different levels of sugar in the final product. I'll use wine vinegar as an example because that's the easiest for me to understand. Wine is made from grape juice. The juice contains natural sugar. The sugar is fermented with yeast and turns to alcohol. Depending on the sweetness of the grapes and how much of the sugar is converted to alcohol, the wine can be sweet or dry. To make wine vinegar, the wine is then exposed to different yeasts and microbes that convert the alcohol into acetic acid. This happens naturally too if you leave an opened bottle of wine at room temperature for a few days it tastes like vinegar because that same process is happening from the yeasts and microbes naturally present in the air. So if a vinegar tastes sweet it is probably because it hasn't been fermented as much. More of the natural sugars remain and it will likely contain less acetic acid.
