The E units are simply beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to video and post your video. When I was a young boy, oh 5 or 6 I guess, I first knew I loved these trains. My first experience was as many of your videos, we were pacing New York Central E units in Rochester, NY and I have loved them ever since. Hats off to you sir.

Just when I thought your E-unit videos couldn't get any sweeter...........Wow! Another excellent one. What makes me especially appreciate videos like this is that it gives one an idea of what it was like to see a classic diesel powered railroad owned streamliner back in the 50s-60s. I'm glad that Amtrak has come a long way, but there is no way that even Amtrak's "best" and most comfortable long distance cruiser, The Empire Builder, could come anywhere close in quality, comfort, and elegance of the classic, well built streamliners that once roamed over the USA.

yup except #949 is not in consist that unit just came back from Spencer and is down for an overhaul so #951 is on point. the train won't be going to Union Station until next year because they are still working on Track 2 and they have a DD40X in consist those engines can't fit under the canopy at Union Station but the cars can.

I love how no one is following it this time. Lol! It sucks that all of their steam engines are down, but at least the E9s get to have the spotlight for once. Great pacing as always Skip!

it was going to be an all E9 train this year but 949 has returned from Spencer and is down for an overhaul so 951 is on point and #6936 will have to substitute for 949. because a DD40X is in consist and they are still working on Track 2 at Union Station the Frontier Days train will not be stopping at Union Station it will be stabled at Denver North Yard and buses will have to be used for the trip.

It's good to see the E-Units every now and then. I've heard rumours that 844 won't run again until 4014 is done being restored. Is that true? Or will 844 lead the Cheyenne Frontier Days Train this summer?

Blake Trafford - Mile Post Productions I heard that they are replacing the 844's tubes while they are restoring the Big Boy. Seems like the 3985 is the one that is going to have to wait.

It's an EMD DD40AX - the most powerful songle-frame diesel locomotive ever built. It's a 6,600 HP monster.
