I just love the way you present and speak Vikrant. Impeccable crystal clear English. Some things about the car. 1) Top end style variant doesn't have electric seat adjustment. Not acceptable. 2) Pretty ordinary reverse camera. No guidelines and no 360 degree. 3) The tachometer and speedometer are analog. The instrumentation panel reminded me of my Fabia which I used to drive 12 years back. And Skoda is talking about 2.0. 4) Even the stereo isn't branded if I am not mistaken. That's not expected of Skoda. 5) The seat cushioning isn't firm.

Thanks Salil. I would agree on all points but the last. The seats are cushy but sinking soft. The foam / padding is well judged. So it will prove comfortable both over short journeys and on longer rides.

@vikrantsingh69163 жыл бұрын
This will stay. A lot has been invested in it. The Karoq was an imported car. So a small number was brought in. The Kodiaq though assembled in India, still had a lot of imported content. And therefore it was an easy decision for Skoda to stop them. That is not the case with the Kushaq. They have a lot riding on this car. So it will stay.

It feels like Skoda wants to have its presence felt in the compact segment but doesn't want to make a strong statement it seems. If we look at the kind of seat bolstering, instrument cluster, non-functioning buttons and plastic bits near the ac and the lack of some key features that attract customers like electronic parking brake, auto hold, drive modes, powered driver seat and all are absent here. Apart from all these, there's no wow factor as such except for the european design. Looking at the competition, Hyundai and Kia have a compelling features list and their overall proposition is really good. To conclude, Skoda Kushaq is like a half baked cake and if we want something that's proper and better baked one, we need to wait for VW Taigun as in that car, some additional features might make up for what lacks in Kushaq.
@vikrantsingh69163 жыл бұрын

@vikrantsingh69163 жыл бұрын
Seltos is also more spacious. But yes, it’s essentially the lack of premium-ness in the Kushaq, and the lack of some feel-good features, which don’t go with its proposed pricing. The top spec 1.5 Style at 14 lakhs (ex-showroom) - that’s a little under 17 lakhs on the road - will nonetheless make it a good proposition.
@The_adv_seeker3 жыл бұрын
@@vikrantsingh6916 exactly sir. When you spend 18L you expect some luxury, this one doesn't feel that good on the inside. And sir my personal though about safety is " It's a relative term" . The gncap testings are done in a very controlled setting, it's quite different when it comes to real world, crash can happen at any speed, the car can roll about many times. So I feel yes gncap rating gives a hint of cars safety but it doesn't translate into real world safety. If your estimate of 17L for kushaq is right I might seriously consider it over Seltos. Well.. good review and i agree.. as harsh as it may seem.. but considering the competetion, the car size, features, quality and most importantly after sales service of skoda including parts.. anything above Rs. 14 lakhs on road for 1.5 lt manual will be a negative and might not bring in the same impact equivalent to what team Skoda expects or rather needs at this time.. they should really look forward to selling volumes with lesser profits for the brand value.. profits can be earned through newer creations once the brand value and image is embedded in the minds of the customers..

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the solid “thud” sound of the car door being closed isn’t a good way to determine the build quality of a car. These doors are carefully engineered to sound much sturdier than they really are. The sound of your car door’s slamming is a trick. A gimmick designed by engineers to deceive you into thinking that the car is much stronger than it actually is.

So here’s the thing Akshay... One, it’s still a European platform adapted for Indian needs. Also the placement of the controls - honestly, it just takes a little while to adjust. And for those who will buy this car - this will mostly be the only thing. So they will adapt to it even sooner. We drive cars with controls all Over the place and it takes 5-10mins to adjust. But I am with you - they could have made it even more India-centric. As for the the after sales - it’s been getting better I am told. And it should further improve with the Kushaq launch today.

@vikrantsingh69163 жыл бұрын
It depends on what you want from the car. The Duster AWad is a rugged, comfortable, go-anywhere option. It’s not the most comfortable to drive in the city, and it’s definitely not feature loaded. But if you want a city centric car meant mainly for on-road use and maybe a rare poor road excursion, the Kushaq might be a better option. It will be a significantly short on space though after the Duster.

Don't BUY !! Worst decision to get a Kushaq ! I recently bought the 1.0 AT kushaq and the break noise is very irritating. Skoda does not have a solution to this issue and just ignore it saying it's operational noise. They have the same break noise in slavia as well. It was my first car , but ended up being the worst decision of mine. Just don't buy any car from skoda !! Go for any other brand !

@pushpindersingh18193 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is a feature of the engine and works in both manual and automatic transmission options. The benefit will be only for those who drive at a steady pace for longer distances. Depends on your mood.

How do you place kushaq 1.0 style variant AT over venue sport dct trip trim? Is it worth the stretch on cost?
@vikrantsingh69163 жыл бұрын
It depends on what you want from the car . The Venue will be significantly cheaper. But it loses out on both passenger and boot space. It also doesn’t get the same number of safety and convenience features as the Kushaq. So, you can afford the Skoda, the Skoda would be a better buy. However, only if it costs up to 2 lakhs more. More than that, and the value proposition will plummet.

Assuming that Kushaq top model 1.5L DSG will cost 21.5 lakhs(on-road),and Jeep Compass Sports model Petrol DCT being 24 lakhs, do you think it’s a worthy upgrade to Jeep Compass?

Hold your horses, it won't be priced that high. That is reserved for Taigun.

Well the Creta SX(O) DCT costs 21.5 lakhs on-road..hence the assumption..just in case Kushaq costs the same, will Compass be a worthy upgrade?

Lack of diesel will limit sales.. A CNG option would have worked wonders..
@vikrantsingh69163 жыл бұрын
I am not sure about this. Yes, the Creta diesel accounts for 60 per cent of the sales. But I don’t think Skoda would be gunning for 10,000 units a month from the get go. Then add to it the limited numbers of Skoda showrooms - and most are centred about bigger cities where petrol is the go to fuel - and I don’t think lack of diesel will make a big difference.
@satwiksahoo4823 жыл бұрын
@@vikrantsingh6916 But skoda said that their expansion plan of showrooms was stalled due to pandemic and they will open new ones. But if the network expands , then they should introduce diesel for sure.

@CarWale3 жыл бұрын
@@inba1234 The right price will always set the right first impression, which will sell more cars. Not saying aftersales service quality and spare parts costs don't matter; Skoda claims it has worked hard to get these factors right for the Kushaq - we will have to wait and see how though.

@vikrantsingh69163 жыл бұрын
For a similar price you’d get a near fully loaded Sonet and entry-level Kushaq. The question is - do you need space and better driving dynamics, or a car with more feel-good features, a better service experience, and better resale…

We will try and bring the review of the 1-litre drivetrain. As for the the Ambition trim, yes, it’s worth buying - so is the Style trim - but it is overpriced. Just because you have to pay mote for something doesn’t make it bad; it’s just that not many might buy it, is all.
