I like this bus. It is mostly done up the way I prefer. It’s looks to be very comfortable and cozy inside. A nicely done conversion. I like that the kept the buss windows. Keeps the inside bright and airy. For my taste I would only make a few minor changes. I would use a different drivers seat. Maybe a nice high end take out seat from an over the road semi truck. Those are some really nice seats. And I would paint the window frames the same blue as the body and curve the line down under the drivers window to follow the blue/white break line. That would un clutter the window area and make the bus look sleeker. It’s a trick the tour bus crowd uses to clean up the window sight lines on their buses.

I love how you did your windows in the bathroom. That you went with a larger refrigerator, and stove. Did you hear about the Berkey water filtration system. It is light weight, you can filter out all types of water.

I agree! Love the privacy screen in their bathroom. Full size buses are totally best to have full size appliances 👌🏼 I’m not sure if they’ve heard of Berkeley, but I do know they have a really nice and effective filter on the end of the hose they use to fill their fresh water tank

This home bus conversion build is gorgeous and reminds me of pictures of old mobile home trailers I've seen from the 1960's. Did you have to raise the roof? The wall paper in the kitchen is cool. I love the handicap door because one never knows when they may need a door to get a wheelchair through. I had knee surgery and had to use a wheel chair.

@@parishskoolie Absolutely! I've never seen another bus or RV for that matter with walls that look so much like what you'd find in a modern house. There's something so beautiful about them, and I adore the color! I have some privacy film on a couple of my windows in my house that I purchased from Amazon, but mine isn't a stained glass pattern with the different colors. It's a frosted glass look with white trees. I definitely love the colors on their's and just might have to get something like that!

@@katrinasheets2997 Thanks for the awesome compliment. I can tell you that Allison spent TONS of hours prepping the plywood walls and other accents with wood filler prior to painting. The "house wall" effect was exactly what we were going for and I'm glad it comes across that way!!!

@@HarmonyExpressSkoolie I grew up helping my dad remodel our house. One of my jobs was to help prep and paint the walls. And we were always taught not to put our hands on the walls and leave handprints. He is a perfectionist and always said the walls are like the canvas to a painting. So I have a deep appreciation for walls as an adult LOL! Your walls are absolute perfection! They are perfectly flat and solid looking. I'm probably not describing it well, but they just have that look of hand crafted, sturdy construction. The color you used along with the lighting truly radiates in your home and is artwork all on it's own!

School buses don’t normally come with seatbelts. They are very sturdy vehicles and in the event of a crash, the riders inside are most likely going to be fine. Some people who build Skoolie’s opt to install seatbelts when they have children that are very young.

We don’t know for sure about this bus, but from our experience in our own, it is not quiet. We have a dog nose, which produces the most sound but it’s not miserable. Rear pushers, like this bus, are much quieter. The most quiet of the choices. Conversation is not easy, but naps are certainly doable! I know of many folks who have kids in their bus who sleep through the ride.

Hey guys. Our bus is louder in back than in front for sure. That being said, our 14 year old son has no problems napping in the bunks while we’re driving. Rear engine buses are definitely quieter than a front engine bus. I love driving ours!

I believe these guys just vacation in it for now. Their youngest is still on school and lives with them so they are not traveling full time. There are places to sit (on the couch) when the table is full. They are not full time so, it’s not a real issue. And the driver has a seat belt lol

My question that I have for people who have children is why do you put the bedroom so close to the kids? Isn't it awkward when you want to have an intimate night with your spouse. That kid is a teenager and I'm sure he stays up late to hear what goes on in the midnight hour😆😆😆😆😆.

Great question Connie! For most school buses, the placement of the children’s beds is to cover the wheel wells. Also, this family only uses the bus as a RV. They don’t live full time, so it’s probably not their first priority. Living in a skoolie (even part time) is more about the outdoors!

Believe me…that is a consideration for sure. It is such a small space, that no matter where the beds are, you’ll hear. It’s a sensitive subject for sure, but it’s easiest to just send them out to play somewhere else when you decide that it’s time to “play” inside.

I don’t know where all this hate is coming from. This is a SELF CONVERTED skoolie. The craftsmanship is gorgeous. I think the couch was one of the few things they bought. People buy couches for their homes every day. A few bought appliances doesn’t negate all the hard work put into this bus 💙

Hi Richard. There is almost NOTHING IKEA in this bus. The couch is Ikea as are the counter tops and perhaps some of the kitchen utensils. We built 100% of the cabinets and drawers from scratch. The stove was a local recycling group find. The bathroom and all of the rest of the bus was custom built to fit our family. Sorry if you don't like what we've done, but we LOVE it!
