I've decided to start a game development blog to track progress of my game, tentatively titled Sky High or Die. It's a multiplayer battle royale style game, similar to Player Unknown's Battle Grounds (PUBG) or Fortnite. I still have quite a bit of work to do, but my plan is to beta-release the game on Steam for PC at first, and eventually build for consoles and mobile.
In this first episode, we take a brief look at the current state of the environment design of the first map, and some of the weapons and pickups that can be collected. I'm really excited about this game becoming a reality, as it's been in development for almost a year!
Tools used:
Unreal Engine (UE4) 4.25
Blueprints, some C++
3ds Max (for character/asset/environment modeling)
TyFlow for some splash simulation effects, and other sim work
Substance Painter (for texturing)
