I have noticed a lot of millennial aged youtubers mentioning they think of themselves as younger than they are (30 but feeling like highschool was just last year). While NEVER excusing it I'd imagine most early youtubers were also introverted nerds so there is some disconnect between reality that only gets amplified the second you have some semblance of fame and money that was missed back in the day. I'm sure someone much smarter than me could make sense of that data but for now I'd imagine its safer to just stay away from adult youtubers who make content for kids.

One time back in 2013 or 2012 shortly after the official “BUDDER” video that started it all in the Minecraft private server, I was invite to a Karaoke night in a Skype call with Sky/Adam. He was my first subscriber for my Minecraft channel and I followed him since jintthedemon days. We collabed in a lot of Minecraft videos such as Mithzan’s Definitely Accidental series. During the Karaoke night we sang a bunch of songs, it was Ty (Deadl0x), Gizzy Gazza, Dawn, Adam and I + another friend next to me. Adam had one of the most amazing voices for singing and was definitely one of the FUNNIEST people I’ve talked to. In between him singing ‘Grenade’ by Bruno Mars and a (sexual) parody of The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny (I recorded both) I heard commotion and Dawn constantly going “ow ow OW” and Adam going “oh cmonnnn that didn’t hurt! It’s a JOKE DAWN! YOU CANT-TAKE-A-JOKE?!” With grunting in between the yelling. He was hitting her on mic. She ended up leaving for a bit and we were all awkwardly silent. She ended up coming back and saying it was her fault for blowing things out of proportion and it’s all good. It always stuck in my head and I wasn’t surprised when I found out he paid her off. One day he came to the Skype call and we asked about Dawn and he was going “who?” “There is no Dawn I don’t know what you’re talking about”. We just brushed it off as a bad breakup. I was like 15 or 16 when this happened back in Skype.

She happened to be on with nobody on by Sky and Ant Venom, sky proceeded to teleport to her house open her bukkit plug in locked chests and take all over valuable materials. My art that I drew for them, is only known as "Team Crafted profile pictures" No one cares about the fact I drew it, because yanno, "omg these KZbinrs are my childhood" and that's fair and I think it should stay that way! Not everyone will go and look who drew the very first profile pictures, I know it because it's been years and only a handful of people have come to me and seemingly be surprised I drew them all those years back 😅 Any way ..... People often say how I can be so calm or not hating on Adam or whatever, because he turned out to be a monster. And yes of course, I don't support what he has done, it's pretty horrifying to face the reality of things .... But people also forget that I used to hang out online with him and chat, I didn't see any red flags though, so I thought he was a cool and funny dude. Later when Seto got kicked out, Adam got overly busy so I guess I was more happy to just hang out with Seto and his friends on his private Minecraft server. Things change, people change. I wasn't super close with Adam, but I also remember watching his videos and talking about how cool it must be to play Minecraft with friends and have so much fun. I watched when i was little and he would brighten my day with his mod showcase videos and cop and robber videos. It really sucks to see someone you used you idoloze do horrible things. Hes the reason probably most of us started playing Minecraft back in the day.

The moment I saw him smoking vape on a livestream when he told everyone Jinbop went to jail destroyed me. I use to watch this guy growing up as a kid. Mostly the golden age. I use to check his channel to see how he’s doing every now and then. I knew he was an adult for sure because adults can do whatever they want but as a child I didn’t understand adult life as much as I do now. Kinda sad now that he’s channel is basically dead.

I think that’s why commentary videos can be important (when they’re done correctly and not used as a smear campaign), cause the average viewer of someone isn’t going to obsessively check every social they use or won’t know the whole story if it’s not complied into a video.

As soon as I heard bipolar first then shrooms second, all the nonsense began making sense. Someone in my family has Bipolar I, and they can’t even have weed lest they get off track and spiral, even worse when they do it whilst manic, and much less shrooms. Any psychoactive is a no-no. It’s really tough to watch someone go through a manic episode *without* being on psychoactive drugs. Even now I bet he’s not taking his meds properly, which explains why he seems off but not completely fuckin crazy.

As someone who was a huge fan of Adam and his content between 2013-2017ish, and one of my biggest inspirations to launch this channel back in 2015 (I created in 2014), once the drama and tension started wasn't even when it went public, but more in the content itself, you could actually hear and feel it grow video to video. There was a sense of awkward hesitation between everyone that showed up and grew. You could tell a lot of the group was growing more frustrated and didn't really want to be there. That's when I could tell something was off. Then JUST before the drama went public between Alesa and him, there was a handful of other video they posted with fights & other things like Adam & Alesa talking about his history and family mental issues, which cued me into the fact something was clearly going down and we were probably gonna hear it. Come the public explosive fallout between them. I have to commend myself (as odd as that sounds and feels to say) that I kind of quickly realized I would keep my distance from it and not pay too much attention to it. Slowly I'd sift through it and be smart enough to not be like the majority of people who reactively just took sides, and instead understood and acknowledged that we're on the outside looking in and there is always more than 4 sides to every single story, so there is no way for any of us to truly know what is legit and what isn't, and that it is far from our place and business to involve ourselves or pick sides in it. I think it's safe to say I need to credit my own past and trauma I'm still trying to learn how to heal from my own fucked up family issues, and a family with a lot of mental illness as well as manipulative, sociopathic types of people and abusers. It puts me into a weirdly adjacent place to that whole drama. What I can and will say is that drugs, especially drugs like meth, or strong psychoactive uppers like shrooms can and will fuck you up if you have mental illnesses, especially ones like schizophrenia, and is amplified when you also have a lot of unhealed trauma and triggers, which Adam clearly fits to a T. It will never excuse being a sociopathic abuser, but it does help one learn and understand what causes a lot of people to become a sociopath in the first place - heavy childhood trauma, and thus a strong inferiority complex with a lot of lack/gaps inside yourself, which comes out sideways in a harshly projective manner. It becomes about power, control and manipulation (signature sociopathic traits) in order to compensate for the aforementioned causes. It's sad because they then become exactly what caused them to be that way in the first place. I believe Adam down somewhere inside past all that fucked up shit he embodies, has a genuinely good heart, and is clearly someone who does best letting his mind creatively wander freely, allowing him to be inventive and creative, which is awesome. He clearly has a positive child-like spirit in his heart as well. I just think he's so used to having that buried so deep inside behind all the hell, trauma and horrible shit and behaviors that he's forgotten what he really is at his core, and only really knows this horrible abuser he's became. It's incredibly sad, but it reminds me of my eldest brother quite a bit. He often was at war with himself, being VERY two sided, resulting in him being clueless and terrified of who he truly was, having lost track of his true self so long ago. Adam may have the same thing going on too. As for Alesa, I don't honestly trust the allegations that she was whoring out with cheating like Adam has claimed. In fact, I don't get the vibe that she cheated at all. I also truly believe she's a genuinely caring, good mom to Mason as well, as has shown it too. Nevertheless, in the end, who knows what either of them are truly like at their cores, or what really transpired. No matter how fucked up Adam was and is or not, the one thing that is undeniable is the positive impact he had on so many people with the peak of SkyDoesMinecraft. The fun, child-like, goofy, bubbly personality with the most random bullshit that would come out of his mouth was up so many of our alleys and really inspired so many to take the chance and start a KZbin channel themselves. Some of them of course have became successful and big from it, while most others flamed out, grew out of it, or otherwise like myself, just kind of continue to do what they want with their own when they want, just for the hell of it. And I think that's really cool. I'm 30, so about the same age as Adam too, so I was not a kid when I came across his channel, nor when it consistently would take time to watch it, and always get such a good time full of laughs out of the videos. I don't regret enjoying and being a fan of him and his content throughout that peak period, I'd say especially between 2013-2016 (first half of the latter) as it was so fit to my humor and overall core personality of random BS and childlike-goofiness. It provided something I related to, enjoyed thoroughly and ultimately, would give me a great escape from life when shit got too much for me or when I got sick. I actually believe I would have eventually "outgrown" the content anyway by that point in time naturally, as I had begun shifting into different content and content styles I would watch by that point. At the time that was Trip Reports, Outdoors content, commentaries, NBA related videos and random other topics occasionally tossed in. The trip reports have since fallen out of rotation haha. Shit shifts and changes, as that's life. I stopped watching Markiplier (who was equally up my alley and inspiring to me to create this channel) around 2018 or so I think? Maybe 2019/20. Though for him I feel he began to really shift into a much more serious, subdued and less almost insane asylum energy/expressive nature, which quickly had me lose interest. Seems like once his girl came into his life, that's where he really shifted into that new territory, then with the pandemic, it just solidified that in him, which sucked, but, again, that's life. Things and people shift and change over time. It is what it is.
