I subscribed to help bring the average age down. I'm 54. 😉 Love your content. I was an 80's teen when I could first afford stereo equipment. Most of my system is composed of late 80's Pioneer components. The last of the full analogue sound processing. And I love the big orange displays. However, your channel has really rekindled my interest in components from the 70's. My biggest influence into getting me started down this path was my grade school principle. He had a massive system at home, including the venerable Pioneer SX-1980, reel to reel, dbx expander, tower speakers with a sub for a coffee table, and more records than I could count. He knew that even as a young kid, I was fascinated with this hobby. He'd call my parents (which he was great friends with) when he got a new album and I'd go over to his place and hang out just listening to music. While he's no longer with us, his spirit (and music) still echoes in the air when I play music today. Vintage components are more than capacitors and dials, they sometimes reach into our souls. Your channel brings back a lot of those memories for me, and for that I thank you!

Good morning 🌅, Guys, I am in my 70s, and I have subscribed, and I’m in France, I wish you all this success for the future, it’s a long hard road, I did notice saying you’ve acquired a container for storage, I didn’t think they were very good for that sort of thing, as high, I’ve had one for nearly 4 years, storing some machinery and timber in it, machinery has gone rusty, and some of the timber that was very expensive has got woodworm now in it and it’s wet, no good for man or beast, I picked up a of Focal cobalt 806 , I was ripped off, the back of the Twitter chassis has broken, The strange thing is, the cabinets look fine, but I presume that they have been dropped, Probably cost more for new drivers than what the cabinets are worth, look forward to seeing your next project, From France.

I’m about 6 and 1/2 hours away so maybe sometime this winter I’ll go for a drive. Maybe even bring my mtx c-12’s if you have a desire to see them. Pretty rare speakers only made a few years and I haven’t seen many sets. Made 10’s and 12’s the 12’s are rated at 300 rms 600 peak per speaker. Must be fairly efficient though because they sound good even at 50-60 watts.

Hey Kevin. If you are sick of renting a storage units if they are expensive in Des Moines and if you got a bit of space in a back parking lot or something like that. If you can find a condemned sea can or shipping container, I think they generally hold their value. So if you buy a 20 footer I think you can usually sell them for what you paid for it plus inflation. I think they might be like 10 grand but you would get your money back.

Whiny scavenger doesn't like anything, wants everything to be perfect. Why not get a job, this is a dead end business. Most people don't mess with vintage stuff because it sucks compared to a $150 class D amp and some DIY speakers. People are tired of the middleman hyping up mediocre equipment. The mystic hifi era is over.
