I agree, and it's bad and a problem, for multiple reasons. The science behind it is interessting, and also the possible solutions: First of all, they have no sense of self esteeme, for sure, and that's sad, because it tells a lot: People need validation, that's natural. That gives real self-esteem, and usually it works like that: You work on yourself, you have real success. Not just the job, better is workout, and even better than that is a hobby or talent. People will recognize that, will compliment you, and this gives you healthy self-esteem. This can help you to be a better partner, husband or wife, because you know, there are reasons, to stay loyal with you, and things, that make you special. People like that are less jealous and far relaxter, very positive and like to encourage others to believe in themselves and try out new things. People feel secure with them, they feel like prorectors, so they also make great fathers and mothers. There are books written about that, but that's a short summary. Such people, who are proud of their "identity", have nothing like that. They still get "compliments", but it's basically a lie. They live a lie. They know it, they fear it, they don't want to lose this, the "foundation" of their whole "personality", their "existence", so they are more arrogant, very insecure, more jealous, and very aggressive. They are controlling partners, if they are men, some will insist on being manly, while surrounding themselves with people, that agree, and struggle with the same problems. If they are female, they often times will cheat, to feel desired, and to be a step ahead of their partner, should he cheat on her. If they have something, they see as "special", like being part of the rainbow, they will use that. We see all that in our society, especially the last few years. They try to bring others down, take their success, get them fired, to feel better. It tells you, they don't have any talents or hobbies, most likely no real friends, no job, at least bo good job, and no real life. They could fix it by working on themselves, but instead, some of them let others work on them, surgery, and everything gets worse. That's science, it's basic psychology, and part of what you need to understand narcissists and arrogance, at least here in Germany, and it's known for decades, but it totally reflects how some people behave right now and the last few years. They are textbook examples. Really. It's fascinating, especially the science behind it, the anslyes, how it could happen, social media, who profits and who encourages that, and why, but it's also really concerning, because it's bad for society. One more thought: The military could help, especially if it is, like in Switzerland. You have to go to the military, and after you served your time there, you get your high quality army rifle and take it home, as sign of trust, and that you really have achieved something in your life, you can be proud of. Gun crime over there is low, way lower than even here in Germany, even with far more, far better weapons, and trained, skilled civilians. At least something, like community service, helping in case of emergencies, floods, hurricanes, wildfires, epedemics or something like that, workout, because of obesety, discipline, that for 1 - 2 years, and a real reward after you served your country, as something to be proud of, as real success, really would help in a lot of western countries. It also would help healthy patriotism, not the type where you unite against others, but where you know your community, served with your people, where you know what they are worth, and where you know, your country trusts and respects you, because you earned it, and that's why you love your country and will stand up for it. Switzerland is probably the most democratic country on earth. That's just one thought, I have, because imo the west clearly has a problem, and problems have solutions, and imo some of Switzerland's politics offer one solution, at least partially 🤷‍♂️

My mother (yes my BIOLOGICAL, straight, female MOTHER) gets called "Sir" all the time. She has a rather low pitched, scratchy voice (she smoked for years, which made it scratchier). She's iratable and suffering from dementia, but she's far more rational and tolerant than these people😢

What do you honestly expect when we have allowed the federal government to control our education system for so long? I said back in the early 90's when the people decided to hand over control of it to the federal government, that it was going to be the single biggest mistake the people ever made. Everyone called me a conspiracy theorist at the time, claiming the government would never intentionally make their citizens stupid. But I tried to warn them, that government doesn't want well educated citizens. It's against their vested interest. They want people smart enough to go to work every day, but not smart enough to question why government is taking so much away from them every week. They want useful idiots, and that's it. And that is all America will EVER be until we tell them enough is enough, and take control of our educational system back from them.

College administrators should not pretend to be financial advisors.
