Skyland is a terrific mod and the fact that it keeps getting updated is awesome. I've using it now and it looks amazing. He's also going to be adding an LOD, so if you're using Skyland, you can get rid of a dedicated LOD mod slot on the Xbox soon.

I use skyland landscapes and I love it. Have you tried the new skyland lod? If so, any thoughts on it?

Just wondering, I know that the seperated mods have more up to date textures, but they are at a lower resolution (i'd imagine even 4 times less in places). The seperated says its 512/1k, whereas the AIO mod and the seperate windhelm, dawnguard, dragonborn etc. range from 1k to 2k, even 4k in places. Surely the texture quality doesn't hold up when looked at closely? Happy to be corrected if i'm wrong

I'm under the impression that the newer stuff is higher rez overal than the older AIO. SkyKing may have made some changes to fit more into the newest mods, but he's real good about where to drop rez on what so you don't see it hardly ever. As for closeup viewing, few games can compete with Vanilla Skyrim for having a butt-load of stretched textures, so almost any texture mod will be an improvement. Even at 4K because they will get adequate numbers of draw calls per surface.

@@TheAncientGamerX thanks for responding mate. I know that vanilla 4k isnt as good as 1k skyland. But I was wondering if 1k-512k skyland is as good as 1k-2k skyland, especially at the moment where hes only just released it and I can't imagine theres many differences at the moment. Just so you know, I'm currently using skyland windhelm, dragonborn and dawnguard with skyland aio as theyre not included (I know i'm missing sovengard and skyhaven temple, but you barely go there anyway). Also, if what you said about the rez is true, thats news to me. On the mod page for landscape/architecture it says downsized to 1k-512k as people wanted smaller file size? I wish he had left it and I would happily use them

Hey mate, ignore my comments. Ive just spoken with Skyking and he confirmed mountains textures are the same and so are the diffuse textures, he reduced the normal maps on some textures by half but its not noticeable. Hes changed many textures to better quality ones so thats why they appear more crisp. But yea, essentially I was worried about nothing and I'm only missing out by not moving onto the architecture/landscapes mods so I've just redone my load order and... Wow! What a difference! Thanks again Ancient Gamer, I love your videos and explanations. Always keep up to date with your videos. One thing I wanted to know, your intro with the old school bit gaming song, what is that? Its catchy!
