@@JJ-zb7ce it’s kind of hard to do stuff like that in the comments, unfortunately. It looks like you might need to rearrange some things like High Poly Project and LoS. I would recommend reading mod descriptions for placement. I did make a beginner tips video as well that might help. That’s a lot of stuff so there could be some conflicts with mods that do the same things. Gameplay stuff like Mysticism and Adamant should be towards the top. If you’re new to modding, I wouldn’t suggest a list as big as that.

@@Matt_the_TechRanger I'm sort of new but I've definitely made one this big work before I just find the order part confusing thanks tho a lot of them are bundles just some wouldn't bundle together thats why it got so long

@@JJ-zb7ce Heard that. Feel free to take a gander at any of my lists to kind of see how I set things up. Generally, I go with Big Patch/game overhaul stuff, map/UI mods (make sure you have an updated one so it doesn't break your mod men), Armor/character mods/weapons, graphics/textures/water. Then anything that says it needs to be at the bottom. That'll usually be stuff that needs to overwrite everything like an XP32 skeleton mod or something performance related. If I see something mentioned in a mod description of a mod not working with another or a particular placement then I'll readjust based on that. If you get into the habit of thinking how things should load then you'll get better at it overtime 💯

The ghost space when downloading is because mods are apparently ‘extracted’ and require more space than the indicated download size to install. So, yeah, download your biggest mods like graphics, sound, etc first. Edit for clarification: the mods do take the indicated space when installed, not more, but it’s like if you zip a file that’s already compressed. Extracting that zip takes up the space of the download and the contents both, before deleting the zip file itself.

That one definitely makes more sense now because of my day job. We deal a lot with reorders - I work for a print company - and new files are being uploaded with a reorder. The zip is sometimes smaller depending on how many files our site pulls for the reorder folder. Then it can get crazy when we extract.

Quick tips: To stop the reshuffling, disable the 'missing creation check on load' in the load order options menu. Another tip for downloading mods taking double space issue is to use the creations bethesda site to add mods to your library. Then in the load order options menu again you can use the 'download all creations in my library' option. This doesn't require the extra space. Just make sure to remove any mods you don't want from your library on the site.

@@smokeej582 So the mod Library on Beth net is for *that* reason? To just populate your LO with a single prompt? I've been modding on Xbox since it was available, and I've never understood what the Library was vs Bookmarks/Favourites... If that's the case, then it's a good feature. But my experience with Beth net is mods don't seem to bugger off when I tell them... as in, I can remove something, but next time I access the list something has re-appeared. I've seen people recommend clearing all Bookmarks, too, but I have no idea what that would gain. I'll try your method, though.

Hey man, thank you so much for this video. I’ve been playing Skyrim since a little after its release and it’s been very dear to my heart throughout my life. It’s been breaking my heart recently trying to get the game to work with all these mods that so many talented creators have passionately worked on. It’s really annoying that Bethesda doesn’t bother to solve the issue but it’s great that people like you are helping make people aware of what’s breaking the game.

It's probably not an easy fix for Bethesda but it can be addressed since there are Bethesda.net issues with Fallout 4 at the moment too. Submitting tickets to Bethesda with issues can help push issues to the top of their lists so I always recommend that. I don't think anyone there wants to keep you from playing with mods. The double the space needed of the the mod you want to download only applies in the Creations menu. To workaround you can create a save, then delete a larger texture mod. Download the mods you want to add. Hard reset then load your save. Game asks if you want to download the missing mod. Say yes. No additional space is required in game to download.

I had an issue with ghost space recently and downloaded everything in my list until Skyland LODs. Deleted Wyrmstooth, downloaded Skyland LODs, then reinstalled Wrymstooth. Found myself getting more mods in my load order by doing this trick. CC content was downloaded first too. Having a list of your mods separately from Xbox will allow you to do try this trick without forgetting your mods. Archive your load order after every few mods to ensure they stay in order as you download more of them. It gets annoying downloading them all in order just to reorder 100 mods.

it was a feat for sure. My first two load orders before this current one had issues with causing the game to crash on start up. Downloaded all 106 mods and did the moistcr1tikal scream 🤣🙌

I found a little issue and figured a fix for it: I wasn't able to download mods not update them, it gave me a network failure. After a few tries I discovered that if the Xbox doesn't sync to the cloud then Bethesda gives these issues.

An issue I found is that not all of your bookmarks will show up in your bookmarks. Typically, things with numbers or other characters in the beginning. That, and if you go to someone's page of mods, it won't show all of them either. (It's usually in ABC order and won't show anything past like M)

That is interesting. I knew there was a limit but not about that last part. I wonder if that stuff gets truncated after you fill up your bookmarks. Like in alphabetical order but numbers/special characters go first. And then maybe some variation of that with the Search.

@Matt_the_TechRanger More times than not, you have to use the website to see the full list of your bookmarks or the Creators/Porters mods. I only realized this when re-downloading my LO, and some of the mods that said they were bookmarked weren't even there. It makes it difficult to find patches, especially for things like JK's Skyrim AIO.

@@Matt_the_TechRanger Yeah, there are so many patches for so many different mods in the JK series. I'm pretty sure it was with the Porters page of mods that I found out that it doesn't show them all. Sorting it in a different way doesn't seem to help either

What about on xbox one x you've nearly finished you load order but still have a few mods to add. It flashes out to the main menu and when you log back in it's a Grey login screen instead of the black. It looks like two mods on the old menu are loading but nothing comes up. I hate this because the only way I found to access the creations mods menu again and access my load order is if I delete my saves and reserved space and clear everything.

It doesn’t matter which Xbox you have. Still the same menu/system. Your game saves have a copy in the cloud so deleting the reserved space only clears mods. If you have older UI/menu mods installed then that usually breaks the mod menu and the menu can look like that.

This has happened 3 times to me. It's really frustrating. I too, will be 5 or maybe 10 mods away and it fades black. Then I'm back at xbox main menu. When I try to log back in, I'm looking at 2 spin blank mods that never load...it sucks. So I feel your pain.

I Hope they put the option to download the mod list from any Game save so I can play again

They kind of do when you load a save that doesn’t have mods from your current list. You can choose to download the mods on a save. Problem with that is that the placement of those mods when downloaded would be messed up unless you change it. Storing multiple lists that you’ve made would be really cool though. I’ve made a lot and it would be a trip!

The game is just not letting me select any of the mods I have even though it’s bugged and now I can’t do some stuff like trade with my follower. I’m genuinely getting frustrated since the game is just not letting me fix it. It’s genuinely stupid that they don’t have console commands on the console version.

Mine acts like it's got data constipation! It's taking forever to even get a mod to download, the controller works fine. The page acts like it doesn't want to work.

🤣 Sometimes the servers can get overloaded and that can cause slow downloads, kind of like when you download a game on its launch day. Other times it can be internet if you’re on WiFi. A hard reset on the console might kickstart things for ya. Restarting or doing that for game downloads will usually get things going (if the servers are slammed). I usually only get hung up on downloads for larger mods.

The only problem I’ve really seen that I can’t seem to find a fix for is when getting into the mod menu it infinitely loads which prevents me from adding new mods the only fix I’ve found is clearing the reserve space and redownloading the mods it’s just slightly annoying if I want to add any new mods or update them

I can't figure out why,but I no longer can play the dragon guard DLC. It just won't work. Never had an issue with it before. But now, I go and talk to the boat captain, go through the dialog tree, he tells me we will set off immediately, and the game soft locks. Every time. Sometimes, the screen will fade to black, but we never actually travel to solstheim. The rest of the time, after he says we will set off, nothing happens. We just sit there. I can't move, can't access my inventory screen, character screen, skill tree, nothing. The only thing I can do is hit wait, but when I do, it freezes for 5 to 10 seconds, then goes back to being softlocked. I have to reload my closest save, or entirely restart my Xbox. I can't play or experience any of the creation club mods that require me to go to solstheim, or the entirety of the Dragonborn DLC. for no reason. I am so frustrated. I haven't been able to play the ghosts of the tribunal, and I'm also soft locked out of the dawnguard dlc, since they are sending me to solstheim to find the guy killing the bear. I can't. Because he is in solstheim. So now I can't play through 2 DLC's. My character is lvl 44, and this is the 4th new character I've made since the update. None of them can go to solstheim. I've tried on every single one. Deleted my mods, done complete vanilla playthroughs, re-downloaded and updated my mod list. Nothing.

I'm just reluctant to do so, because I have a rather large and complicated load order for my mods, but at this point, even disabling them altogether hasn't worked. It's so weird! I'm doing that now, actually, and it took me all day to compile a list for my mods. I do that because on console, I've often had my favorites list not record all of the mods I've had favorited.

@@garretisla5282 try to get there without any mods first; unmodded save. If you still can’t, submit a ticket to Bethesda since that’d be an issue with the game. Then you can narrow it down to the mods you’re using and go from there. There might be conflicts in your list or mods relating to cities that would keep you from traveling.

I saw that when the update first happened but haven't since. If you can get to Bethesda.net and log in, take a look at your library, and remove any duplicates then that might work. Could be something similar to the duplicate mods showing but maybe it disables one in this case.

Sounds like you had a menu/UI mod installed which is keeping you from seeing the menu. Unfortunately, you'll have to clear your Reserved Space to get back in. It might seem that way but there's reasons for everything. I think it was a way to test the system for Starfield and move the almost 47K mods on Beth.net to new servers. It didn't go as smoothly as it should have but that's just the nature of internet things.

You’d probably want to reach out to Bethesda Support then. That was the their solution but they might be able to see more on their end or if it might be something tied to your Bethesda Account that’s blocking you.

I had to clear my saved storage then go to the XBox one then go back to the next gen console to save my saves.

I can't do anything in Creations at this point. The only thing that works in Creations is my right analog stick. I've deleted and reinstalled the game multiple times, cleared my reserve space and emptied all my mods and now I can't do anything at all.

If you’ve changed your controller bindings or used a mod that changed them then that can cause this. Clear Reserved Space and go on Bethesda.net and log into your account. You’ll want to remove any User Interface/menu/controller mods in your library. A lot of those new mods have new versions, like Kontrol so if you have an older version tied to your account, it’s possible it’s causing that.

Hey Matt! Thank you for this video. Agh so I’ve been dealing with problem #1. When I uninstall and reinstall my game, creation club works and I start downloading mods. After maybe 30-40 minutes it’ll crash on me. When I go back in it’s the glitched out old layout for mods like your video shows (and Anniv. Ed. Kinda seemed to be gone too). So you’re saying there’s a specific mod causing it to do that and if I don’t download that one the creation club will stay working? Could it be multiple of the mods? Thanks! Would lovvve to solve this problem.

If you have a UI or menu mod that has not been updated (it will say it in the title or description) then it will break your mod menu. I made a video on safe ones to use. Your game might crash due to that but usually that happens if you have conflicting or unstable mods.

Yeah my Skyrim is ruined. I can’t play without it crashing, (I play on Xbox) when I try to download stuff from creation club like mods it straight up crashes and when I try to go back into creation club it doesn’t let me press any buttons, (like I can’t use the search engine or even see my load order.) idk how they did this-

If you uninstall the game, do a hard reset on your console, and the reinstall then that’ll be a fresh start at modding. There must be things that you had installed when the update hit that didn’t work with it. Stuff like UI/Menu mods, 60fps menus, and anything that changes controls like Kontrol if you don’t have updated versions. Bad mod data can stick around on game saves too which can lead to more crashing.

Does 60 FPS menus mod still work. If not is there a way to get my menus in-game to run faster? I noticed the 30 fps big time. Also I noticed my character in game seems to be moving at 30 fps again on Series X. Can I use Beths 60 fps boost, how do I turn that on. Before it seemed on with out me doing anything even after I uninstalled the unlock fps mod. I found that my game ran at 60 even with out that mod so everyone deleted it cause Beth had the game already running at 60 fps. Falllout 3 runs at 60 yet Skyrim runs now at 30 on Series X

I'm not sure. If i'm the only one having this problem but A ((big)) problem that I've been having is that can't take mods out once I've downloaded them and saved them Without starting a new game.😢 I was praying.That would have fixed this by now. I can't be the only one This is happening too???

You're not the only one. Unfortunately these issues are just something we'll all have to deal with. You probably did delete it but visually, it still shows there. You can tell by how much space you have left. Best thing to do is not remove mods after the fact so you don't have to deal with that. If you do, you can try doing it with the Offline tip.

When you say Hard Reset, is this the Everything option or save game data one? I don't want to press the remove everything option unless I have to. Also I should add, what is with this small 20 or so Gb of space that is already being used before I download anything? Is that normal?

Hard reset is when you hold the Xbox button until the console shuts off. You can also hold it on your console and it’s the ‘Restart Console’ option. Only deleting your Reserved Space would delete your mods. If you have space used up already then you may have Creation Club things installed. It would be MB not GB 👍

I tried uninstalling it, and I don't even have the upgrade installed either- which I idek if I need to download that now cause it seems creations will work regardless. Like If It just stuck there, whatever. 28mb isn't gonna ruin a list, just odd to see.

@@Pandemoniac070 yea mods are available for everyone. That upgrade wouldn’t help with mod space. There were some free Creation clubs mods that were given to everyone when the Anniversary updates dropped. Fishing, Saints and Seducers, Survival Mode, and Rare Curios. I’d imagine some or all of those could have installed.

@@Matt_the_TechRanger So I doubled checked by playing the games with no mods installed, and no creations enabled. From what I am seeing the game is telling me all creations are installed, even though I don't see them downloaded. So what I am guessing is somehow they doubled and all I have to do is just carry on as is and not worry about space. Cause at least now I know it isn't ghost space. Thank you again!

Why won't Bethesda increase the mod limit and also add a mod organizer to Skyrim n fallout on consoles?

@@Ed-ealmighty if it was possible, they’d essentially have to wipe everyone’s saves, regardless if they use mods or not. Mod space is tied to the partition/file size of the game for Fallout and Skyrim. So saves are tied to it as well. Starfield is the only game of theirs that isn’t like that. So mod space in that game is separate and adds to the total file size. Mod organizer wouldn’t be possible since it’s another program not made for console or to work with one.

They need to figure something out because they keep putting new creation out and ppl are buying them only to realize the mod is massive like bards colleges and blood and snow a new vamp mod like just hear me out aso (artistic Skyrim overhaul is like 800 gb skyland aio is 1,000gb borderlands graphics pack over 2000gb mind u these 3 things are just graphics mods yet these 3 things take up most of the space and now I want to download armor but can't cuz I have to download bards college and east empire expansion... They need to figure something out... Even if it breaks or mods they already made ppl start over so why not increase it break are mods to give us more space? Wed be happy trust me. Like we already have 5gb another 5gb totalling out to 10gb would make everyone pissed off but happy also lol 🤣

My skyrim has decided not to work anymore. I have uninstalled over 5 times. The Bethesda Customer Support told me to delete saved data which deleted over 500hrs of gameplay. I think im just going to stop playing.

Clear your Reserved Space and do a hard reset and that should clear your cache. Sounds like your old stuff was still being pulled from somewhere.

Always best to check your list after reloading the game after you mess with stuff. Doesn’t happen in Starfield much now but Skyrim has a lot more mods since it’s older. Or you can try the offline method as shown in the video.

It could be that there is a mod installed that may not have carried over with the server migration they did. Since there’s that check that happens when you open the mod menu now. Searching for it would be a good way to check if it’s still there. Or if you open your list and see a file name then that means it’s delisted. You can try a console hard reset and unplug from the wall. That should clear the cache when you load back up.

Yea it’s the same as the mods reshuffling. Not a permanent fix unless Bethesda can update. They seem to be aware of it per the Discord.

@@Matt_the_TechRanger It's just stupid you can't even go into your LO without it reshuffling. Every suggestion that I have looked up or been told directly by other users do not work. STEP 1 create mod list STEP 2 back out to main menu (will get message saying "The creation selection/load order has changed. the game will now reload your data files" STEP 3 press ok and wait for it to reload STEP 4 quit to home screen. STEP 5 hard reset console. STEP 6 create character and start game. STEP 7 after character has been created and game has started press start to get to the in game menu and go to the creations club (load order is set but one or more mods not working correctly) STEP 8 move mod to a different place in the load order. STEP 9 repeat steps 2 & 3. (And right there is where the mods will rearrange themselves or just get automatically disabled) STEP 9 Start from step 1 all over again. This is what I've been doing.

I am getting so mad at my game, I need to say that I’ve only ever played Skyrim on the PlayStation, I switched to XBox because mods, I’ve never started a single game of Skyrim on my XBox everything is completely brand new, yet for some reason the creation tab doesn’t appear on the menu, unless my XBox is OFFLINE, that makes no sense whatsoever and whenever I put it online it instantly disappears I’m getting so frustrated I paid money specifically to be able to use good mods, and now I can’t, how do I fix this? @@Matt_the_TechRanger I’m sorry, I was extremely angry and pissed off and I wanted an answer instantly, but I saw this thing that said to enable this setting on the XBox “you can see and create creations” or something like that, but for whatever reason it said I needed a parent account even though I’m the only person who uses the XBox so I had to create a parent account (with my own email mind you, I have 2 emails) I did what I was supposed to and enabled the setting to say “everyone” and now, for some reason…literally none of my games will work, as in I can hear ALL of the audio but it will not get passed the initial first screen, I have no idea what I did wrong aside from manage my own account by pretending to be my parent, I’ve uninstalled all my games to try and fix it…God I probably should’ve watched the video instead of getting so angry

@@sw33g3r3maybe switching accounts is what gave you that audio issue. Hopefully reinstalling stuff on that account helped. When you buy things, you will get a local and cloud license so maybe that got messed up when you were on the other account (depending on how a game was purchased/licensed to a particular account). You’re good. It’s good to learn what issues people are having so that might help others.

@@sw33g3r3 try unplugging the HDMI, maybe try using a different port on your TV. This now sounds like another issue. I had an issue with sound once a long time ago and it was power-related. Unplug the power, wait several minutes and plug it back in. If you’re still having these issues, you may want to contact Xbox Support.

Your Library is everything you've downloaded in the past. Reserved Space is just on the console. The only way to remove mods from your Library is to go on Bethesda.net

If you've changed bindings at all then that can mess the mod menu controls up. Or if you have a mod that changes what bindings do like Kontrol.

Usually that means that a mod requires another. Or that DLC is required (most people have it but not everyone has it actually downloaded). It should show that on Bethesda.net or in the mod description

If you have any custom bindings in the game then that can make those options not work on the Creations menu.

Can't really tell from your comment but if you have any mods that modify cities then that might be it. Check your mod list for conflicts. If you don't have mods then I'm not sure why it would suddenly do that.

It was the older version of Nordic UI. That one could break the new mod menu but it was updated. Not quite the same as the OG but mostly.

If you have any custom keybindings or a mod that changes those like Kontrol then that could be it. There's an updated version of Kontrol but I haven't tried it yet.

No I probably wouldn’t count on it. Most of the mods that have options will usually be available via a spell or power and that’ll be it. Given how many issues came with Creations, an MCM would cause way more I think 😜

Mods are still there but they’ve been renamed to Creations. There’s some links in the description that might help with the menu option not showing. Could be Xbox permissions like I showed in the vid. If you checked that and the links then it might be worth submitting a ticket to Bethesda 👍

@@mikethegamr I haven't seen a mod that says it doesn't work with a DLC. I've heard from some that the Unofficial Patch might cause some issues in Far Harbor but not sure if that's the only culprit. Some mods might require DLC though. You can read mod descriptions to see those.

You may want to check your list for mod conflicts. 99% of mods are ported/made for work on Xbox One. Mileage can vary but it all comes down to load order.

Such an amazing product still out selling your current products and you neglect it? Im still hoping for skyrim 2 like using the elder scrolls created a time rift so u gota find another elder scroll and go back and stop aldiun in the past. Like with most things, it’s hard to foresee issues. That and Skyrim is over a decade old and there’s no way to account for issues with mods they don’t have control over.

Either the mod author removes it due to an issue or they don't want it up anymore. Some authors take their mods down to work on updates rather than keeping it available. Or a mod gets reported enough and it gets taken down (i.e. violates the rules).
