In the Anniversary edition, you can find the "Unbound Flames" spell and do the same to max out Destruction. Keep in mind that if you fast travel to a city with this spell active, you may injure/kill anyone nearby, and the guards will go after you. Better to fast travel with this spell outside of cities.

Just fast travel to Whiterun, drop the item right at the spot you spawn in, then do the spell and fast travel to Markarth, wait 24 hours and drop an item in Markarth, do the spell and fast travel to Whiterun. Repeat this process it’s way more streamlined/Items wont disappear and you can reuse them instead of dropping something every time.

For Everyone Who Cant Do The Glitch. If you dont have secret of arcana this glitch will only work the first or second time then past that it rarley works. You need secret of arcana for this glitch to work every time, and also you should fast travel to the other side of the map to level up more. This is a cool trick if you're looking to level up alteration. But if you're looking to just level up period...or farm perk points then it's much faster to use the Fortify Restoration Alchemy loop. Get a FR potion w/a high enough % and you'll essentially be able to go from 15-100 Alchemy, w/o any perk points invested, in a single synth. Then just keep crafting those high level potions and you can just keep doing it for as long as you have the easily obtainable ingredients. Also, you can use the potions when upgrading weapons and armor to do the same thing...cap out smithing in an instant and give yourself uber powerful weapons and armor.

Helpful tip: if you are using the arcano power fast travel from riften to markarth. Firstly there is a bucket right at the front of riften i always use and in markarth there are food stalls so i just levitate a goat leg. Secondly because you have to wait 24hrs to reuse the ability i chose the most accessible and longest fast travel points so that when you fast travel the power is already ready to use again and all you have to do is keep turning your alteration to legendary Ps my alteration is legendary 46 lmao

This glitch won't level you up if you don't put it on legendary mode. You then need to use the secret of arcana and the telekinesis spell and travel to a very far location.

PLEASE PIN COMMENT SO PEOPLE CAN SEE THIS METHOD!! New method(even better): Get telekinesis spell and the secret of arcana. Now, activate the secret of arcana and use telekinesis spell. Go into the map(while still holding down the telekinesis spell) and fast travel somewhere far away. You will max alteration and gain levels. Legendary the skill, wait 24 hours, then rinse and repeat. This might be patched by unofficial patch, idk though.

Worked perfectly as of 24/12/22! For those who say it doesn't work, this is exactly what I did. I started from Riften Stables when doing this method. Make sure you have Secret Arcana + Telekinesis equipped, drop an item you don't need, and use Secret Arcana then Telekinesis on the item. Once you've used Telekinesis and grabbed the item DO NOT LET GO OF THE RIGHT TRIGGER! (The Button you use to cast Telekinesis) Until you've got the world map open. Once the world map is open, I travelled to Statue to Meridia (Travel anywhere that's very close to Solitude!) Then go to the skill tree and you should have 100 Alteration! MAKE SURE TO MAKE THE SKILL LEGENDARY! once you've done this, rest 24 hours so you can use Secret Arcana again, and do the the exact same thing, but this time travel back to Riften Stables. Rinse and repeat! Hope this helps those who are struggling with the method shown. 😊

The issue I believe is, as you've said, you don't have a lot of magicka. In the video I do say you need a way to have infinite magicka for alteration, whether that be the Secret of Arcana park (acquirable in the Dragonborn DLC) or you have very high enchanting and are capable of creating armour that reduces the cost of alteration casting by an overall 100%. If you're a low level I doubt you'll have either of these, I'd recommend watching my latest Skyrim video as I go over the XP glitch from a level 1 character and a variety of other glitches. Hope this is helpful, let me know if you have any more problems with this glitch!

No, but this skill levels alteration, so you'll end up making it legendary a few times.

It's basically not even a glitch, though! It's your character earning experience fair and square by doing what he'd do anyways. Except we do not have to sit through it lol!
