I don't get what you mean by that? Like, no one's honestly been playing this game since it released even with mods. You perhaps pick it up every now and then but to say you play this for 5 years straight is ridiculous. No one does. Not even myself. And I was there day zero. Even if you're talking PC (which I'm on) it's not really doing much of an incentive to make people really keep the game alive for 5 years when all that's been done, even with quest mods, has been virtually done 4 years ago at least. The only thing left is the relatively new entire rebuild/remake mod with an entirely new storyline.

This is why there are mods and they are NOT calling it a remaster. It's simply adding improvements for better mods in the future. As far as I can tell, the better performing of the consoles either way is, of course, the Xbox One simply because Bethesda games just always run better on anything but a playstation console of any sort. Other than that, it looks amazing on PC for me.

Pushpop LoC I'm not so sure honestly, judging by the Digital Foundry footage a few hours ago, XBox seems to drop frames a lot more frequently than PS4, but really it doesn't matter because both versions seem to run great, I certainly haven't encountered any performance issues on PS4, glad everyone gets a great version of Skyrim this time around

I got the Special Edition for free on pc (had the Legendary Edition). Let me just tell you: Compressed Youtubbe videos do not adequately represent the increase in graphical fidelity. The game looks significantly better now than the unmodded original. Most notably they revamped the lighting, added ambiant occlusion, increased vegetation and view distance. Also, keep in mind that the PS3 version runs at I think 720p with a 30fps target, which it struggles to achieve. The remaster runs at 1080p and a stable frame rate.

It's more about the console ports with mod support than the graphics, and even then it only exists because Bethesda had the ports made to help their employees learn to code for the new consoles. Sure, it looks like pc skyrim with a couple of basic mods, but that's why pc users get a free upgrade.

Because cod4 is what, almost 8 years old? Maybe more? Lol. A fallout 3, NV, or oblivion remaster wouldve been more appropriate since the graphics were eh. But even i know those those might not have sold as well as a Skyrim remaster, thats why they did it.

I would like a remastered version of oblivion tbh, it felt like there wasn't enough quests in the game and felt quite unfinished but it was still a great game in the end. What do you think about a remastered version of oblivion with 2016 graphics and mod compatibility on console?

Okay, so yeah. It doesn't look THAT much better. I mean, it is improved in a lot of places. The loading times are better and I haven't experienced anymore frame lag. Plus we have the mods and all the dlc. I had traded in my 360 before I had a chance to play any of the DLC at all, so I'm not complaining what so ever. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. The ONLY reason I wanted my 360 back was because of this game and we finally have it on current gen. So let's stop complaining so much and enjoy the damn game.

difference is a lot more noticeable on a tv screen as you can't see the impact of the increased resolution otherwise.

Ffs people you don't have to buy the remaster this was made because it gave new players an opportunity to experience skyrim for their selves or for people who already played their game but sold their ps3/xbox 360

The addition of factions, war, outposts and the Hearthfire Dlc was all cool. But I wish the next ES improves into more complex dynamic economy, agriculture, war and politics. Where you can have a land with people working and then sell goods, get into wars over plot and kingdoms etc. A true sandbox. Where you get overwhelmed with all the stuff that goes around the world and you can actually influence things.

YT compression really is a thing.I had Skyrim on PS3, and got it now for PS4.The difference is huge.Huge and worth upgrading.

In general SE adds more color and more intelligent contrast for shadows. The color is the major thing for me, because I always felt that skyrim was SO gray before.
