Skyrim SE: ENB's for NAT Comparison (NAT vs Berserkyr vs Rudy vs Cabbage)

Great comparison, thanks for showing FPS and providing a decent video quality that is rare in Skyrim vids. I wanted to check exactly NAT, Berserkyr, and Rudy. Based on this video, I'm disappointed with Berserkyr and Cabbage which come overly bright and oversaturated. NAT wins in some scenes, and Rudy in others, especially the wreckage. Rudy tends to have more natural colors and avoids big FPS drops that NAT has on occasion. However, the most important thing that puts me off NAT is the excessive haze/blur. Rudy is the winner.

Thanks for the feedback! NAT may be losing some frames due to the fact that it is on the high preset, but I did want to compare the best possible visuals (minus Berserkyr's extreme preset which is simply all settings maxed, without much thought unlike NAT's). If you like NAT I would suggest picking up the medium preset and reducing haze if that is what you are looking for

There is 3 presets inside NAT ENB, use the natural one it is more dry and natural than the default from download, and coupled with the medium preset for performances you'll have best looking game

@@disid452 Thanks for the info. Once I've assembled my new PC, I will definitely try out different settings on NAT + NAT ENB, as well as Rudy. I'm also going to check the good old Visceral for Obsidian Weathers because, despite its age, it has this unmatched cinematic realism vibe, while being much easier on the GPU than newer ENBs. In every single comparison vid where it's included, Visceral wins the comment section no contest.

@@disid452 Not sure I follow. I don't see 3 different presets in the download, the natural one you mentioned? All I see is low medium high folders, plus the folder you install to your root Skyrim SE folder.

@@abereid4315Once the ENB is installed, navigate to the ENBeffect portion of the shaders window in-game, choose the technique at the top of the drop-down menu (has green text). You can find 3 presets that do change the visuals fairly drastically.

While I'll say Berserkyr isn't my favorite, I do love how it resembles the same feeling you'd get playing the Fable games. How the night is a hue of blue and the lights glow a nice yellow-orange. I would say depening on the style of gameplay you want in a modlist, I'd say I'd it'd be worth it to install if you're going for high fantasy kind of gameplay.

Cabbage is such a wonderful ENB. Nat III looks amazing in my opinion as well, but in some conditions it feels a bit lacking. I used Rudy for the longest times, but sunny days don't look great compared to other options. I can't tell what it is but something about it feels really off during sunny days. Something about the sky.

I thought the same thing after trying Rudy. The lighting during the day almost feels like it's cloudy, even though it was a full sunny day.

@@StevenSvN7 Yeah I mean if the Sun is that high in a sky everything should be bright and more vibrant. Yet it feels like It's cloudy like you said.

idk what makes people think that cabbage is so so good.. i tried cabbage and compared to FNENB (absolute banger) or NAT3 it felt like i picked any random enb from nexus, sorry..

@@jhnfrm_9021 I'll check out FNENB Nat III is absolutely amazing the only reason I don't use it as much is customizability which is really limited compared to others. I also noticed that character eyes seem to be much darker than they should be in some lighting conditions so for a screen archer like me it was a big turn off

FN is crazy good, it is such a pity it doesnt come with NAT but with NLA and sky textures are bit unbalanced and overexposed. But the ambient occlusion and the contrast with this ENB is the best out there and is definetley superior to all others without any tweaking @@starly1974

After some time analyzing, I came to a conclusion: NAT is perfect for a more cinematic experience; it has balanced and more realistic colors, but there's a filter that resembles a film. Berserkyr, on the other hand, is completely fantastical, leaning heavily towards saturation. Despite everything, it's well-balanced in terms of brightness. Rudy, on the other hand, is somewhat the most realistic of them all, balancing everything - colors, saturation, and brightness, with interiors generally being less bright than the others. As for Cabbage (which I used for a long time), I have to say it's like a mixture of Berserkyr and NAT. So, it's less fantastical than Berserkyr and more cinematic like NAT. Honestly, what pleased me the most was Rudy NAT.

I think Berserkyr has better nights than NAT and Rudy NAT. Cabbage seems best though. Berserkyr seems more fantasy hue, so that might play into ones decisionmaking.

Still prefer the old NAT Standalone and its Silent Horizons preset. Currently Pi-Cho with Azurite Weathers is my fav tho. Rudy with NLA were my go-to on LE, but I don't like how Rudy looks on SE.

I'm guessing you could run Darker Nights to balance the fact that Cabbage looks too bright at night?

Berserkyr is definitely the weakest out of the bunch for me in almost every scenario. Cabbage is great but I always hated its interiors and nights as they always look way too bright. However, it looks absolutely gorgeous during bright, sunny weathers. Just looking at it, NAT would be my favourite because it looks much more cinematic and dramatic. However, as much as I love it, the little bugs it has are much easier to spot than Rudy. Rudy is definitely the most consistent of the bunch with really no weaknesses.

That was my problem with Cabbage its Sunny days truly made me feel like I was playing Witcher which I loved but the interiors and nights were way too bright for my liking ended up going to Rudy Cathedral Weather for now. A shame to cause Cabbage day weathers were exactly what I was looking for

Rudy is way too dark, in dungeons I can't see anything with rudy unless i'm carrying a torch

@@jeniosk1097 That's the point to make caves actually caves. But there must be something wrong with your set up cause not all my caves are dark were I cant see without torch I'm using LUX for my interior lighting. But its personal preference in the end

Berserkyr is easily the worst. NAT might've not looked as meh is it wasn't compared to rudy and cabbage. Rudy and cabbage trade off each depending the scene nut both look great.

I’ll be honest. I think cabbage sucks. Blooming highlights at the first glance of sun is annoying asf.

Nat 3 looks way too dark in my opinion, even during the intro of the game it's like you're in constant night.

i love that for the vibes, but its nice to see things yea.. then again you can use spells, torches or an archery mod where you can fire light arrows to brighten uup dungeons, which makes its immersive again! even better

@@dondankleberg4965 on my laptop its like darkhoole of the night i max all display setings but its still dark, so i need use everytime when dark times or caves spell: torchlight and its annoying
