Tiny details you might not have included in a video: -The dragon at the Western Watchtower may say "Dovahkiin no," as you slay him -There are noticeably more female Stormcloaks than Imperials (possibly due to historical accuracy for the Vikings and Romans) -The people in the Soul Cairn may say that "They're always watching," which might be referring to the fact that the sky in the Cairn resembles an eye that is always directly overhead, no matter where you are -The Volkihar ruins have a statue of Mara, candles still lit (What would vampires want with a statue to the love goddess?) -There is a size difference between male and female werewolves -When speaking to Serana, asking about her family will prompt her to ask the player about their family, allowing the player to decide on their character's past and how their family was

Collectively human who shapeshift into animal form are called therianthropes. Both wolfs and bears are pretty common forms of this across cultures. Interesting parallels in Norse culture are the beserker and ulfhednar. Though not traditionally shapeshifters, they would engage in trance inducing rituals before battle to take on the spirit of the bear and wolf respectively. Supposedly this allowed them to be stronger, faster, and ignore pain. Berserker means bear shirt and ulfhednar means wolf pelt reflecting that they were known for wearing their respective animal pelts.

Spriggan earth mothers are definitely not afflicted by vampirism. They are most likely the oldest type of Spriggan, as being soul trapped will result in a greater soul.
@lordcrunchy48212 жыл бұрын
I personally always saw the earth mothers as simply being incredibly ancient spriggans. Their bodies are dark because the bark that their bodies are made up of has become petrified, hence the name "earth" mother. However, with age comes wisdom, and so the earth mothers are far more powerful than their younger counterparts. As to the purple glow, there a bunch of different possibilities. Perhaps, rather than the green mosses and leaves that the lesser spriggans have domain over, the earth mothers associate more with rare funguses and vegetation found deep underground like those in Blackreach. It could also be that the earth mothers utilize a form of nature magic completely separate from the standard spriggans, purple being a closer match to the pallet of storm atronachs, which, as we know, also are quite rock-like in appearance.

Maybe his wild imagination had him combine a giant with a slaughterfish, and maybe this is the event which happened for the giants when they fled for the mountains and returned afterwards changed (giants disappearing in the mountains is Micheal Kirkbird narration if I'm remembering correctly). I always assumed the reason the Reaper takes the form of an executioner was related to some of the souls saying something about being drawn and quartered, which is two thirds of a particularly gruesome method of execution known as being "hanged, drawn, and quartered".

I'm thinking that the reason why werebears and werewolves have such a specifically hostile relationship is possibly their roots in DnD. Werebears are a neutral good monster while werewolves are chaotic evil. They naturally will not get along very well based on alignment.

Ermm... Spriggans are mentioned quite a bit. The priestess that asks your help to restore the Guildergreen in Whiterun talks about Nettlebane - a blade for sacrificing Spriggans. Valdr was attacked by Spriggans and says he never believed they existed. If you harm the Eldergleam, you will be attacked by Spriggans. They're pretty much Kyne's agents, protectors of the natural world.

One theory I like about Lurkers (which can support them not being entirely Daedric) is that they actually belong to Hircine, and are possibly another one of his twisted versions of animals and beast, like a werefish. That said, I can't say that explains the reason why they use tentacles. Maybe due to spending too much time in Apocrypha?

An actually good and informative list. I had no idea about the Reaper or his origins and I didn't know that banish daedra doesn't work on Lurkers. Maybe Bethesda just overlooked it? Does it work on Herma Mora's other servants?

Maybe frost giants look like that because the ones in the forgotten veil seem to travel alone, where the ones native to Skyrim focus on herding and stuff, maybe the giants are just becoming more advanced, domesticating animals and such, and because they kill mammoths and wear the fur, and the fur on their body wasn’t necessarily

Fun side-note about the spriggans: They actually become more or less feminine depending on type. Ashen Spriggans are slender and almost flat-chested, normal ones are average, orange ones are curvier and bustier, and Earth Mother Spriggans are have the curves of the orange and a pretty impressive bust.

Hermaeus Mora can’t create, only accumulate - so my thought was always that Lurkers were corrupted people who get stuck in his realm. Similar to the seekers, except they didn’t get stuck in apocrypha because they were looking for knowledge.

Theory: Frost giants were prevalent in the northern parts of Skyrim however Elven expansion and early human settlement drove them to extinction in all but the most secluded place in Tamriel, the Forgotten Veil. Bear in mind it's the last sanctum of the Snow Elves, all one of them.

The lurkers are people who stayed in hermaeus Mora's world too long, pretty sure I read that in the of the books, says something like " it changes you " and things like that so it doesn't directly say they were made from people but I think them and the floating creatures are both made from people who stayed too long in his dimensions
