I once had an Archer/assassin that was named pack mule. He was a Khajiit, who could only use bows. Every level up had to be put on stamina. By the time I got around to doing the main quest his stats looked like this; 100/100 Magicka 100/100 Health 850/850 Stamina....

I think that the killing Paarthurnax decision could have been better by having him not fight back. Imagine, you’ve made the gut-wrenching choice to kill the dragon, and as you raise your sword, he does not flinch, but looks you in the eyes as your blade falls on his head. And as you hack away, he does not retreat, but simply talks to you about his regret for the things he did, and an understanding for your actions. He talks about disappointment that he didn’t get to make up for his crimes. And as you strike the killing blow, he whispers his final words: “Sky Above, Voice Within. Goodbye, Dovahkiin.”

The Blades are sworn to serve the dragonborn and if the dragonborn thinks its okay to keep Big Old Dragon Master around, the Blades need to shut their faces and watch.

Delphine isn't manipulating anyone. She is straightforward about what she wants from him. Trying to persuade and manipulating aren't the same thing, you know. Also, the Blades aren't compelled to blindly obey a delusional Dragonborn. They learned to rely on their own judgment in the time where there was no Dragonborn to lead them. How about Parthurnaax himself? It's very much possible that he's simply manipulating the Dragonborn, his deadliest rival, to get rid of his second deadliest, Alduin. As soon as the Dragonborn dies of old age, he has no more significant rivals and the Dragons are free to subjugate all races of Tamriel under Parthurnaax' rule. The only evidence that his intentions are noble is his *word* and that of the Greybeards. His *actions* in the past and the *nature of dragons* in general suggest otherwise and support the Blades' position.

Unlike the murderer in the allegory Paarthurnax was not caught and punished with community service. He instead overcame the most base nature of his entire species and chose to make amends of his own free will. And he has been doing this for far more than just the lifetime of the current Blades or the Dragonborn but ever since the Merethic Era, meaning long before Skyrim was actually called Skyrim, before the Blades were a thing, hell before the Empire and 90% of the lore we know were a thing. If you kill him at this point you are not bringing back the many people he killed and undoing his atrocities. You are however undoing all the good he would have done by teaching man and mer to protect themselves and teaching Dragons to live alongside them. And even if someone were to claim that Paarthurnax is really some evil mastermind that might turn on everyone after getting all those dragons under his control it wouldn't make any sense. After all it's not like he could become a new Alduin, even if he did become the new head honcho of the dragons. The only dragon that could bring him back if he died is now dead and he helped you do that, and you know the Dragonrend shout designed to kill dragons, which he helped you learn. Not only that, the Dragon War ended in the creation of Dragonrend and Alduins banishment and even gave man and mer a fighting chance in the current day because he betrayed Alduin at a time when it would have been considered suicide to do so. Considering dragons are terrified of the concept of mortality because it was never something they had to fathom it would make no sense for him to give the dragonborn the tools needed to kill him and then turn against him.

the hardest decision i found is whether or not to kill Madanach and his men in the Cidna Mine during the Forsworn conspiracy questline. The Forsworn are known murderers and raiders, and if you help them escape the Mine they will leave a path of bloodshed through the city of Markarth. However, while talking to all the forsworn prisoners is the mine you learn of the horrors and the hardships they've experienced thanks to the Bear of Markarth and the Silverblood Family. It's like you're damned if you don't but you're damned if you do. Instead of a clear right and wrong, there are all sorts of shades of gray in this decision, and you have to weigh the choice based on your own values what the correct action should be.

It would have been fantastic if you had been declared a criminal for having helped the forsworn escape the mine due to the trail of bloodshed they left as they went through the city,. OpenWorldAddict occasionally NPCs will say something along the lines of “didn’t I see you escaping the mine with those forsworn?” or something like that but otherwise there’s no consequences. Which is pretty much the biggest problem with the game. I would’ve loved for you actions to change the world around you. Not to the extent of like butterfly effect stuff but you know, Id like *someone* to acknowledge that I saved the world idk. I’ll still keep playing though 😂

Idk the city is the most corrupt of all in the game. Seeps evil from every crack in the cities concrete walls. Let some people have revenge on corruption. As dragonborn giving a voice to the little man is much better than some little golden coin that has no real value. Plus gold is the most looted item in the game so if a player fails at obtaining a fortune they might want to go back to kindergarten and start counting their plastic pennies. The worthless septims are found everywhere and finishing the main story with at least 50k in pocket is common among well established dragonborn.

Never kill Paarthurnax. The way punishments are supposed to work is to make people regret their crimes. In some cases people are put into prison just to protect others, but mostly to give them a new chance. Paarthunax obviously used his chance to be a good guy, so no punishment needed. And in Alduins times ALL Dragons served Alduin. If he stood up against the others they would probably have killed him or something like this.

Parthurnaax was a very easy choice for me. Yea obviously he used to do horrible things under Alduin but what choice did he have? If he disobeyed he would have likely been killed. And because he teamed up with Alduin he was able to betray him eventually, which lead to his defeat the first time. Then when Alduin comes back he once again helps the last dragonborn defeat him. HE SAVED THE WORLD TWICE!!! Whether that justifies his former actions or not (which it sure as shit does), he may very well be an instrumental part in helping Tamriel in the next crisis. So what, we should kill him because these 2 Blades are butt hurt about him killing people in the past when he was basically forced to do so? Fuck that! Also, when the fuck did the dragonborn take orders from Blades? They are sworn to serve me I don't serve them.

With the "In my Time of Need" quest, I originally sided with Saadia and paid to get the warrior out of prison and went to the cave to kill Kematu then I went with his plot to lure Saadia out of Whiterun to be captured. Then after I got my reward and such, I slit Kematu's throat and then Saadia got up and I killed her too. It was a good day.

Reasons not to kill Cicero: 1) If you spare him, he can be a follower, who CANNOT die. 2) His commentary is bloody funny at times. (When in Markarth, he shouts: "Cicero saw a dwarf! He did! He did! Oh, no. Sorry. No dwarf...") He definitely brightens up dungeons and creepy places in my opinion. 3) Cicero is the most loyal Brother to date. After everyone in the Dark Brotherhood left Cicero stayed with the Night Mother for EIGHT years. 4) Sithis loves him, so he won’t be happy if you kill him. He’s kept every secret for so long, and again, he’s very loyal. (Lucien even says, “The Dread Father does not wish for Cicero to be killed.”) 5) He never actually tries to kill anyone else from the dark brotherhood, even though he makes a joke about it when you return to the new sanctuary at Dawnstar. 6) If you do spare him but you lie to the rest of the Brotherhood no one can see him (they don’t react) when you bring him back to the Dawnstar sanctuary. 7) He's actually an amazing fighter and can take people down really quickly. He can use staffs, blades, shields, war hammers, etc. 8) Astrid is a b*tch to you, you will soon find out.

The quest went away when I spoke to the Grey beards about it. Like the dialogue will pop up saying that the blades want me to kill him. One of the Grey beards says something I forget but then another dialogue pops up saying I'm not going to kill him and it went away for me.

And go talk to the blades after. If you aren't satisfied then just go back to that save. I chose to let him live because I love the dude XD He's totally cool with me.

Simple, really: 1. Eat the priest, what good is he, you get an artifact that counts towards an achievement 2. Save Saadia, I don't buy into Kematu's story and Saadia seems pleasant enough. 3. All three prisoners are asswipes, just Fus Ro Dah them all to oblivion. 4. The only benefit to killing Cicero would be to get his armor set, but you can pickpocket those off of him with the correct perks, so that doesn't do anything. However, with the Keeper dead, there is nobody to tend to the night mother. We can't have that, so, keep him alive. He'll also become available as a pretty strong follower later on (though he does remain as annoying as ever). 5. Why would I want to kill Paarthunax? Props to the blades for stomping out evil dragons, but, jeez, this dragon turned his life around, ignored his own instincts and started working with humans to fight the evil of Alduin. And besides, the blades are sworn to follow the dragonborn, not the other way around. Just who does Esbern think he is, ordering the dragonborn around. Know thy place, you maggot!

I hate to eat the priest, since I like his personality, but the Ring of Namira is too beneficial to pass up. I always give Saadia up simply because her side of the story meshes less than her pursuers. If she wanted help, she should've been completely honest, since she was out of options and trusting a stranger anyway. Since she was clearly not entirely truthful, she had something to hide. Maybe she wasn't as guilty as the Redguards made her out to be, but she was certainly guilty of something. I kill all three prisoners, as a mercy killing. Whoever survives is always stuck in that shack the rest of the game anyway; they don't disappear, always remaining tied up. You can't actually free them. If you could, the choice would matter more. I let Cicero live, since I don't find him all that annoying and actually agree with most of what he says. Astrid's leadership led the Dark Brotherhood to the dump, and the fact that she always betrays you, regardless of your choice, means there's no point in being loyal to her, hot chick or not. As far as the Paarthurnax dilemma goes, the big guy himself said it best: "What is better? To be born good or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?" He didn't just go through ten years of community service, he went through centuries of it, truly reforming himself. Besides, what the Blades are basically doing is tracking down and attempting to kill the retired lone general of an opposing army from a battle that concluded before their great-great-grandparents were even born. The Blades don't care about avenging the lives lost because of Paarthurnax. They don't even care about honor, or they'd do it themselves. They just see him as a black stain in their history, and you're the janitor they hired to clean it up, and you're not allowed to play in their clubhouse anymore until you do. Talk about ungrateful and dishonorable after you killed Alduin ALONE. Hands down, no matter how you look at it, keeping Paarthurnax alive is the moral thing to do.

I mean, if you completed the main quest "Diplomatic Immunity", they'd have plenty reason. You stole vital information and killed at least two guards, if not nearly all of them. There's also the fact that you're dragonborn, and your very existence strengthens the human races' faith in Talos (the very thing they want to wipe out), given that Tiber Septim was also dragonborn. It's implied that he actually betrayed Alduin for the Humans because he couldn't surpass Alduin on his own. And he himself says that he fights the urge to revert to violence every moment of his being and that he may one day break his pact with the world. I'm not saying that killing him is the morally correct decision, but the argument for sparing him isn't perfect. I never killed him myself, but I never trusted him either.

I mean to be honest the morally correct decision is not to kill Paarthurnax. Paarthurnax being alive means he's converting dragons to the Way of the Voice. If he didn't convert those dragons, they would almost certainly go on to kill some people. It doesn't matter what happened in the past, what happened in the past already happened. If you kill Paarthurnax you will cause the deaths of more innocents than if you spare him, so sparing him is an easy choice to make.

The real enemy is the thalmor. Even without mentioning racism or how much of a selfish hipocrit Ulfric is, you can't deny that skyrim's best shot against the dominion is the empire. It's not like they've forsaken their founder for coin like ulfric likes to say, it was either that or anihilation. Talk to that imperial chick that advises Tullius, she hates the thalmor and make it seem that she worshipps talos, also there's the whole thing with Torygg's horn, people have always worshipped talos in secret, but thanks to Ulfric the Thalmor got suspicious and started arresting everybody.

I chose Imperials because Ulfrich is working with the Thalmore. I know in the open he claims to hate them. And probably does. But he went behind everyone's back and worked with them for nothing other than his own need for power. And I just can't stand the Thalmore.

I may be interpreting lore wrong, a very possible possibility, but I believe the exact state was either A. She helped the Dominion and when they lost anyway she fled for fear of being charged with treason, or B. The Dominion won (Not canonical. Hammerfell is free) and she, a supporter of the rebels, fled to Skyrim. Either way, yeah she had a .000000001% chance of being judged innocent, but again, the fact that Kematu paralyzed her, the game equivalent of tying her up, and not killing her on the spot, I think he's more believable.

Killing Alae Quintas is killing 7 people with one arrow, you have now forsaken the six children of this widow to go on without their mother, their only support in this war torn country. Sure, they might be sent to the orphanage, but there's no guarantee of that, and even the orphanage isn't much of a consolation. That's why despite her venomous tongue I couldn't bring myself to kill her, I didn't want to think of hunger or death or mistreatment befalling 6 innocent children because I took their mothers life on a whim over my bruised ego.

Eola is a great follower. Always eat brother V. I always save Saadia, even though she's useless. For the Friends Like These quest, it varies on my mood. Sometimes I waste all three, just to be fair. Cicero is very annoying. My mood determines this one as well. My character needs a jester at times. But I NEVER, EVER KILL PAARTHURNAX. Screw the blades. Screw Delphine. That dragon is special.

God I kept Cicero alive mostly because I read all volumes of his journal and I just felt so bad for him. He used to be a dedicated non-insane assassin until he became keeper when he was corrupted by Sithis and the 'laughter' that would follow him. Poor bloke.

When I played “Taste of Death”, I decided from the beginning I was gonna troll the cannibals in the only fitting way I could think of: I cooperated with the cannibal chick long enough to get the priest to the dinner party. When he took his Jedi-mind-trick-induced nap and I was asked to kill him, I stood there a moment, turned around... and transformed into a werewolf right in front of the cannibals, all of whom I promptly and brutally slaughtered, the dinner guests themselves becoming main course. Yeah, I guess it’s a bit hypocritical for a heart-devouring werewolf to pass judgement on a cannibal cult... but at the very least, my werewolf form’s appetite is reserved exclusively for those who have it coming... in this case, a dinner party full of cannibals. The priest? Eh, I had nothing against him, so I just used my wolf roar to send him running and screaming out of the tunnel and into the countryside.

Jack Williamson well yes he taught them the way of the voice and how to use it. But not how to use DragonRend. Remember Paarthurnax even said it himself that he Haden’s heard it used before. Not to mention that the brain of a dragon couldn’t even comprehend it’s meaning since the shout was created by mankind. That’s why you have to retrieve the elder scroll in order to learn the shout from the three who originally used it to cast Alduin forward in time.

Jack Williamson You are correct. Paarthunax chose to save the Nords after relising that what he did, helding Alduin, was wrong. Don't kill Paarthunax, and what happens to the Blades is up to you. I killed Paarthunax and realised what I did was wrong. I have regretted it ever since.

During "In My time Of Need" if you turn Saadia in, you see her ashes in the Hall of the Dead. But did you know that every killable NPC in Whiterun has ashes in the Hall if they die. So it could just be something the Devs forgot to take.

Plus, Thalmor assassins come to kill you after getting her captured; dead or alive she was pretty clearly working for them based on that alone

The ashes is just Bethesda's way of dealing with important NPCs that need to be removed from the game, and the Thalmor Death Squads are a random encounter, they can and will spawn regardless of whether or not you've handed Saadia over to Kamatu. I do believe, however, that the quest to infiltrate the Thalmor Embassy increases the chance that they will come after you.

I always keep Cicero alive, because since Astrid is a traitor, it is likely that she was slandering the Night Mother and he had gotten tired of it. Since he knew she was a traitor from the start, his actions, while drastic, can be justified depending on whether or not you actually have played through it before and know that Astrid will betray you. He's also kind of an immortal follower and he actually is very good at sneaking because of his history with the Dark Brotherhood and years of training.

Saadia‘s burial urn appearing is probably just a bug, when in skyrim a character file gets removed (usually because they‘re dead) their burial urn is automatically placed in the catacombs, so after the quest her character probably just gets removed and bethesda forgot to change it, the thalmor explicetly telling you that you interfered one of their spys though...

Yeah, plus you don't need them to find and hunt dragons, you basically meet one every two minutes. Word walls aren't located in every cavern in Skyrim, so I too think the Greybeards are more useful than the Blades.

Cicero is awesome has a massive carrying weight and is super deadly against foes. (Once you gain him as a follower he's actually taller to keep up with you too)
