Skywalk Chili 5

Thanks for this video and your review. I used it when deciding on my new High B and ended up going with the Chili 5. Really enjoying the wing so far, I agree with you that the leading edge is soft. Apparently Skywalk designed it to be softer on the tips to give the pilot warning, but I find the center usually starts deforming first. With this being said, the wing gives me a lot of information through the risers so it's easy to feel it coming and react. Can thermal with little break input and the glide is great. Speed bar gives a good range of speed. I fly it in South Africa in strong conditions and hell I feel safe on it. Definitely at the top with regards to performance without upgrading to a higher class. Beautiful machine! Well done Skywalk :)

I‘m actually thinking to switch to the Chilli 5 now ….. I fly a UP Dena (A+) now for two years in the alps but now I would like to make a bigger step to a high B which is still safe glider….. lot of people recommended me the Chili 5 as a performance glider with enough safety space….. would you recommend it too? Hi, The Cili 5 is an intermediate glider with B certification. It's a good B. The lower B category flies really well also. Tequila 6..Ion 7... Cheers

Great video. I’m considering getting this wing. Can I ask how you recommend loading it ? I would sit at around 95kg flying weight which I believe is right In the middle of the S weight range 85-105.

Hello Ziad. I fly High b wing UP summiit XC 4, I have 80 hours on it, and before that I flew Tequila 5- 50 hours. Do I have to switch to C class or can I go to En-D (Mantra 7) right away? En-C doesn't get bored quickly after the XC 4 Summit, Thanks in advance.

HI Suzana, It depends on your flying hours and skills. If you fly more than 100 hour/ year in strong conditions, without any problems, then a 3 liner D could be a good upgrade. Cheers,

very good video, just need more accelerator. You almost don't use the Accelerator, when the Blue Sail comes you don't accelerate, sheave against sheave never. That's why they take so much distance, friend! encourage yourself to fully accelerate your wing to maximum speed!

Thanks, But I'm not comparing the Chili 5 to the blue wing which is a 2 liner D glider. I'm only following the Rush 6 B class yellow wing. When using the full bar, the B gliders aren't competitve to the higher class also. But thanks for the encouragements ;-)

Hi, I think gliding performance is real conditions, the R6 is very good.

Hi, Thank you for your message. I have tried without music...Sometimes it's ok...sometimes with the long glides .. it will be a bit boring...Some pilots emailed about putting a kind of music ...
