Mostly because the story and the rules of the world were interesting right away. Without that, the great vfx would be boring and without the vfx, the story wouldn't be so relevant. This was fun. Nicely done. What happened to the friend? Who is the company man? What's his story? Who designed the spinning emp? Why didnt she say "come with us if you want to live?" What does mom do when she realizes the guys are gone? How long does that take? Sounds like it could be a good arc. If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? Is Tom Holland too old or expensive to play the lead? How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? (These are questions i imagine you'd probably get if you were to use this to pitch a feature length movie aha) Good luck with your next thing.

Yeah...like why do delivery drones have gas canister weapons. Why was it so easy to turn on that setting? If they wouldn't have turned on the setting would the drones still have attacked them for messing with their shit? Or did they turn on a program that turned the drones aggressive to people who messed with them? How has this happened before if they just turned on the setting? Theres obviously an entire underground group devoted to fighting delivery drones gone bad. So did everyone in that group hack the drones, turn on that setting and then get attacked first? That just doesn't make sense maybe im missing something. Of course it all needs more context I guess but that just seems convoluted. Like okay you have to hack into this delivery drone service, then turn on a bad setting and then if youve done something bad the drones attack you or they attack you for turning on...the setting?

As someone who listens to filmmaking podcasts everyday this ticks all the boxes of what they they talk about when it comes to proof of concept shorts. You have a great concept, it’s produced well, full of wow factor, well acted, fantastical theme, you can see where it will jump off to, has a named star (and a big one at that) already has great marketing in place etc etc. If this doesn’t get you ‘in rooms’ then I don’t know what will. Well done to all involved.
