I think Kent and Marty have been pitching unity since day one, and the players who see and believe in it are on board. Not a lot of players will take less money to stay somewhere, and that is their right, but some just love the team and system they are in.

I wrote this under one older video. Everybody can see Kent and Jeff have real vision for the team that fits new era of NHL. They bet on young Marty to bring fresh coaching style, they gave C to Suzu, we can see how they are choosing players with big team spirit and for long run with the team. Maybe I am crazy, but it is possible for our first line that their whole career will be with HABS and maybe one day all 3 jerseys will go up under the roof at the same day.

Well the thing with Hutson is, that you can have another D on 1PP, bcs Huston just move on that 4th offensive position. I am not sure if Hutson is capable of being only D on ice.

All Kent has to do when negotiating with players is point to Toronto and ask if they want to be part of a team where 4 plyers make 50% of the cap and never get past round 1 of the playoffs or do you want to be on a team with the depth to win a cup?

Jesse they can't sign guhle for 4 years because he would be ufa at the end of that contract. I don't think kent hughes would risk losing him when it's time to win some cups.

We missed out on Texier for a 4th rounder...perfect for 3rd line with newhook and roy and on the pk with newhook....we also missed out on Holtz , he would score 50 easy on wing with dach and demidov..exactly what we are looking for a 22yr old that puts the puck in the net that needs a top 6 role and playing time

You say be patient, yet you think we need a top 6 vet. You're going to see that by the end of next season, we don't need one. We already have vets in Matheson, Anderson, and Gally. They aren't going anywhere soon.

Ahoj, Lets get real.. I know it may sound crazy but is there really difference between 7.6 and 8.5 mil? He can earn that difference with one good commercial deal AND we still do not know what else is hidden in that contract. Maybe the difference is there in spicy bonuses that he is sure he can earn them. And in few years, when they are going to be SC competitors that one free mil in cap can do much and Slaf knows that.

For Kent Hughes there's a big difference because he needs to fit everyone into the salary cap. Slaf clearly showed what a great guy he is in his interview. He knows that with over 60 million that his family is set for life. He cares about the team and wants to win here. He gets 7m signing bonus next July. For some money is most important. Not for Slaf. It's all about the cup and he has enough money now. And if he doesn't then maybe he will when he signs another huge contract in 9 years haha

I believe next season if we make the playoffs, each of the following three years after, we are cup contenders! So it's very close to being done. Once Dvorak/Armia are gone and then phasing out a couple defensemen and the bottom 6 forwards (minus gallagher, because who's taking his contract lol) the Habs are going to look deadly with: Basically Top 9 looking like this: 1st: Caufield/Suzuki/Slafkovsky 2nd: Newhook/Dach/Demidov 3rd: Joshua Roy/Michael Hage/Sean Farrell 4th: J. Anderson/J. Evans/B. Gallagher Once that 4th Line is gone, we have: E. Heineman/O. Kapanen/J. Ylonen Or F. Xhekaj/Owen Beck/L. Tuch Or R. Kidney/A. Koivu/F. Mesar Many many options.

Good and / or great players do not make great coaches, as you mentioned. It was time for Burrows to move on. Graton/ Hughes continue with the loyalty. That hopefully pays off. Quality should work. It doesn't always translate.

7 for Guhle - he would have a lot more points if most of his face-offs are in the defensive zone. If not for him Matheson would have been a -40 and also I think he should be on the left side - move Matheson there (his defensive play is so bad who would notice the difference)

If Hutson is on that power play, you don't need to, he basically becomes the 4th forward. Put Guhle in that other spot.

If it wasn’t about money he would have take 40-48 over 8. That being said I don’t know if giving him that deal with 1 20G 50P season is worth it, although if he continues to grow and becomes a 30G 60-70P power forward that’s more in line with 8-10% area of the cap
