I had a Clifford 4bbl intake. They made 2 different models (not including the Hyperpak copy) mine had bosses just before the intake port that could be machined to accept injectors, or nitrous nozzles. I sold it to a guy out on the West Coast who was quite the Mopar engineer!

That's not the EGR on the exhaust manifold, that's the carb heat and choke heat.
@Really-AintBuyn-nit4 жыл бұрын
If the intake had an EGR under the carb mount. I have an iron 2bbl intake with a factory block off plate, and an M-1 aluminum with a provision for the EGR. The manifold heat didn't go through the intake plenum floor.

same dude that engineered this engine, did the 2.2L & 2.5L Mopar 4 bangers in the 80s..the Trenton I4. Too bad it didn't get an iron head, smh. but..if ppl didn't beat on it then shut it off etc..they didn't blow gaskets that much. 100k and needing a head gasket is better than brand x cars needing far more work done, baha. anyways, /6! great engine! rumors abound about a new inline 6 from Chrysler. can you say, _"Bzzzzmmm!!! Bzzzzmmmm!!!"_ lol.

I guess those motors have exterior oil pump. At least it should make for an easy turbo supply.
@ArneChristianRosenfeldt3 жыл бұрын
3:25 so this is one piece. Why should this engine need such a big turbo and wastegate? There is plenty of space under the hood. If you can weld (1:11), why not weld together some tubes for almost straight manifolds? Why does every tuned bug as two carburetors, but none of the domestic cars? I can't believe that this comes from the same country which gave us two plane intake manifolds. This engine is called "slant" because the ports point a little upwards. Don't force the gas around unnecessary bends, but route them as close as possible under the hood. Side draft carburetors and turbo a little lower to lower the CG. I think a modern battery could be lifted from below the engine or can be placed inside the cabin to lower the CG.

Question time - from a HyperPak driver,... ;) Why go through the work to fit a 2bbl flange on the single barrel manifold? Wouldn't it be more cost effective to grab a 'Super Six' manifold, or one of the Chrysler Australia stock 2bbl manifolds? Or, modding the single barrel to take a large single throttle body and go EFI ? There was a workshop here in Melbourne that used to mod the single barrel manifold for 2 and four barrel carbs, and the fuel distribution they got was horrid - problems that turbo's avoid through pressurization ;) Will look forward to seeing on road test.
@BTB315 жыл бұрын
the manifold was 50 shipped to my door , one nite on the cnc machine to cut and make the adapter . weld it up the next day and start fabing the turbo stuff . this is just because i had some stuff lying around the shop build . in initial testing it runs good , the plugs don't look much different from 1 to 6 6000 rpm 19 psi just bout out of duty cycle i understand that a log style would be better but i have maybe 1800 in this old dodge thanks for the question update and driving vid as soon as work slows down

6000rpm? on a 225? You're brave :) I have an AT2 spec block I've thought about adding a turbo to, but no more then 14psi, for the torque curve, rather then outright power, just need to find a Ute to put it in to first. A lot of folk don't get how flexible a Slant can be.
