That finish is so nice to me. Slash doesn’t only use Seymour Duncans, even if he’s endorsed. In the same way that he doesn’t actually only use Marshalls. He pretty recently made a model with magnatone amps too. And quality wise, the custom burstbuckers are pretty much on par with Duncans. And even in the aftermarket, Gibson custom burstbuckers hold their value about as well as any other manufacturer, so I get why they’d rather make them “in house”, than having to make a deal with their biggest competitor in the aftermarket pickups game. How was the feel of the neck? And was the workmanship decent on it?

You are right, it is a pretty good Les Paul, I have two Gibson Les Paul Standards and I imagen they would be the same thing when it comes to quality and playability, I am also not a huge Slash fan but I like Gibson Les Paul´s, maybe that's why I have quite a few of them.. :D thanks for the video and great playing also.. :D

If they wanted to use a certain piece of equipment they would have. If i bought 1000 sd pups and wanted to put them in a line of guitars then sd cant say a thing about it. I purchased them i can use them how i want.

Don't you just love how Gibson wants to take credit for Slash's trademark sound, which came from a Derrig built COPY? Slash bought the copy because he couldn't afford a real Gibson, which is typical for most of us except Dr and lawyer collectors.

Up until and including the 2017 Anaconda USA Standard - All Gibson Slash Les Paul’s came with his signature Seymour Duncan pickups (USA Standards & Customs). Actually, so did the Epiphone versions also. It wasn’t until the most recent signatures - The Collection (2020?) that Gibson cheaped out and started using their own in house pickups Also, side note. Is that definitely a 2020 version you have? I know it’s got the Slash trus rod cover but the 2020 USA Version Anaconda came with black pickup surrounds, the earlier one came with cream to match the binding. Of course the owner could have changed this easily

That’s interesting! Thanks for the input, I wonder why Gibson stopped using other brands’ pickups. As I said in a video (I think I forgot to specify), it was modified to look more like the Custom Shop version (and the earlier signatures, which I didn’t know about) - so the plastics was changed (pickup rings, toggle switch ring and cap). So it is definitely a 2020 version, just modified :)

In total agreement regarding pickups in signatures. Just use the actual companies pickups, ESPECIALLY if these guitars cost thousands, we pay this massive amount just for them to pull half hearted measures in the name of profit. At this point people should just Google the pickups he used on that first album of his… (the s.d’s) and put them in a Les Paul, that’s the best and most authentic way to get the slash sound.

I couldn’t agree more. The most recent example that comes to my mind is the Kirk Hammet’s signature Les Paul Custom which originally had EMG pickups. Of course it doesn’t come with them.

@@DressedInBlack lord have mercy the Kirk Hammet signature model how could I forget…. A “Murphy Lab” model as well! Oh the prestige! Didn’t even put the most important part, Gibson decided to make lemon cheesecake without the citrus lmfaoooo although another Kirk Hammet move that annoyed me and proved how much of corporate dog he is was taking the deceased Peter Green Les Paul, and make no mistake that is his Les Paul, it will always be peters. He released it with Gibson, and called it the “Kirk Hammet Greeney” - seriously! You sitting on all of your millions couldn’t say “nah you know what I don’t need to stamp my name on this one”, you couldn’t pay respect to a fallen great, a man who paved the way for guitarists like you with such a tragic story as well. It bothered me greatly. Maybe I’m overreacting but yeah. It’s wrong! He isn’t known for playing that Les Paul, no one wants to hear him play it either. “Kirk Hammet Greeney” is just disrespectful.

lovely lookin guitar and some great playing but the sound to me was awful just way to toppy and even through quality cans it was all fizz .......everyone's ears are different i suppose
