It's funny... this was back when I made 20-hour action/adventures with 30-minute tutorial levels (Indy's the same with a LONG ass tutorial level). Dunno why you'd have to look it up Mat, just ask; when we made it, SMG became "too good for little things like videogames", as she was being a big movie star on Scooby Doo. The SMG soundalike was great. She nailed Season-3 Buffy. BTW, we won a BAFTA for the writing in this one, if memory serves... And the sequel's trash. Yeah, I said it. LOL

PLEASE PLEASE do this Matt. This game is still super fun to this day and nothing has really felt like this game's combat to this day. I've actually spoken to Matt Goddard through KZbin replies over this game and the fact that he still plays it and has fond memories of it definitely says something or two. Shame these games never fully developed into a full franchise as the quality was definitely there. Too bad Angel never got it's own game, because that could have been an even better game.

Ahh. This is one of my favorites. The Collective killed it, with this game. At the time, it was the best 3rd person combat of its time. Even had Super cancels, like Street Fighter games, Alpha and newer. One day, I’ll have to replay it. You could do mad juggles and off the wall combos, in this one. The first, I ever encountered such in a 3rd person action game.

When this game came out I lost it. It was such a love letter to my favorite show on television. The mood was simply fantastic, the sounds were spot on. The voice acting was great too. This game was at the time pure perfection. It was the show. God in heaven I miss the 90s. This may rank up there with one of my most cherished nostalgic gaming experiences. Well I'm off to the game shop to pick it up... Great video.

Some of the "super "moves you could do later in the game were Zangief's spinning clothesline (360 + x) and a variation on power geyser. I forgot the rest since its been 20 years lol.

I absolutely love this game, I love that you played this. I just rewatched all of Buffy and I'm making my way through Angel now. I've been meaning to replay this. Not that I stream much or have a following but I do wanna stream it so I did some ... ahem, tests the other month and played the first three levels by accidient because I got lost in it haha.

Picked this up alongside my original Xbox back in the day because I was a big fan of the show and lucked out with how good a licensed game it was. I always loved the amount of environmental combat stuff the game offered.

Loved this game. I remember it had this really great glitch where a person with a second controller could take control of any enemy and either fight Buffy or do a bit of unofficial co-op.

There was this strange era of like Bloodrayne esque slasher clones my Dad played a lot of and this game ironically bought my family together. My dad likes games, my mom loved the show so they spent a lot of time together playing this.

I read once that there was a sect of the Buffy fandom who made a game out of counting each time Buffy's bra straps were showing during the show. So Sarah Michelle Gellar stopped wearing bras during shooting for future episodes to screw with them.

I feel like Sarah Michelle Gellar may have just been too busy at the time to do the voice recording for this game. She was definitely the busiest actor from the show, especially in the late 90s/early 2000s. I went on a scavenger hunt last winter and managed to find this along with chaos bleeds and an Xbox 360. Definitely had a good time but they are so clunky when you’re used to modern games.

Loved the show back in the day, especially season 2. I owned a GameCube and a GBA that gen and bought the sequel Chaos Bleeds on GCN. (I think there was a really bad GBA game but I never played it. I did import a DS Buffy game a few years later that...wasn't good. Sigh.) Made it as far as the Anyanka boss fight in CB and couldn't get past her as I was fighting her and the camera. When I did eventually get an XB360, this and Halo were the only OG XB games I bought. Sadly didn't play it much and it joined a backlog of games and was eventually sold when I sold my XB360. Watching this, I wouldn't mind picking up a copy and firing it up on my sibling's old XB360. Thanks for uploading/sharing. I'd love to see more Buffy videogame videos.

Played this as a kid and recently revisited it as an adult, and while its better than a majority of licensed games it suffers from combat mechanics that aren't really explained to you, like the grab, and its "difficulty". It's too tedious on normal but too easy on easy, plus you miss stuff that is on normal difficulty. Edit: After rewatching the video I realized the grab is explained to you in the second fight, don't know how I missed this when replaying it.
