Started playing it this morning. Love it so far! So nostalgic and it’s awesome seeing the humanity of Zane in the details. You definitely get the feeling the game was designed by an edgy teen who eventually grew up and had a family of his own. Also, it’s both hilarious and frustrating seeing the haters in the reviews who have no idea what this game is and just take it at face value bwl

This feels like a 90's shooter that mechanically achieves its ultimate form thanks to time... or that's literally what this is. Either way, I'm excited to play the full thing. Oddly made me want to go play Twisted Metal 2 again.

I just got this game on Game pass & I'm having a blast with it. It's an amazing combination of Y2K Limp Bizkit styled grunge with 90s Boomer Shooters (DOOM1 & QUAKE). I also love the in universe explanation for this Hypnospace spinoff is that the creator came up with the idea as a 16 year old (which he was in the 1999 that Hypnospace takes place in) & now in the present as a 37 year old he finished the game he started when he was a teen. Great retro shooter find. (Also this game has so many poop jokes it rivals Conker's Bad Fur day & I personally find it funny).

Please use Doom/quake modern console ports as reference for how to make these games work with Xbox controller. So many unused buttons, the d-pad should always be used for selecting certain weapons. I shouldn't have to cycle left and right bumpers just to switch from previous to next weapon, It's bullshit.

Cycling through weapons with the bumpers means your thumbs are free to use the joysticks for movement.

Fun fact, I bitched and complained about this nonsense on several different videos, And a review on the Xbox store. Then on a KZbin review by Civvie11 I've received a comment from Zane himself telling me what I'm suggesting would require rewiring the game from scratch. And then he asked me to stop posting everywhere. In conclusion I don't want to refund the game, I just uninstalled it and gave up. The PC gamers can have this victory. I give up

@@prismaticat Playing through Doom Plutonia on Ultra Violence+ made me feel better. I got more out of the Civvie11 review than I would playing through this on Steam. I gather the issues I expect out of console ports of these games would require reworking from the ground up and That's when it made I don't need to buy these retro shooters anymore if they aren't going to cater to something that the modern console ports of Doom provides. (I'd say quake but I don't like it as much, probably because the whole looking up and down thing is too fucked up to do in a console) more suitable for something like GoldenEye/perfect Dark / Halo. I gather you don't care about any of this but if you actually read all of it then thanks, we could talk if you like.
