For people complaining that this mod doesn't auto-charge stuff like Brimstone and Tech X, please understand that the Isaac modding API is quite limited and some stuff just isn't possible to do. The mod author cleverly worked around this by adding other effects instead, so instead of hating on them, you should praise them for their ingenuity.

Quite a lot people are sad that I took water part of Neptunus instead of charge. I understand that passive charge is main Neptunus gimmick gameplay-wise, I tried to do something similar with Monstro's Lung. However: 1) As I mentioned at Steam, there's no way to directly interact with charge of charged attacks like Brim, C Section, Tech X, e.t.c. So to make that work I'll basically need to remake half of the game + make player unable to shoot normally; 2) It's hard to understand where lasers/tears come from; is this just your normal attack or something like Isaac's Tears/Tammy's Head? 3) Not everything even works. As example, lasers don't trigger collisions, AT ALL, so you have to depend on dealing damage instead. If that wasn't enough - you can't change player's laser(atleast brim) damage dynamically - you have to replace it with another laser. And that leads to another problems... Another example - when Forgotten hits Ludo tear with his bone, that doesn't fire collision. (I had an idea for Forgor+Ludo synergy, but well... no more) So instead I mostly concentrated on water part of Neptunus. I'm open to suggestions but I can't guarantee that I'll do them. Thx Slay for discovering a few unintended things and showcasing the mod! (He still missed some little details tho, so you'll have to find them out yourselves, hehe!) Also wait for another update soon

This mod is a great start! Boosting tear rate would probably just make these synergies a blue version of soy milk, so I can't blame you for not wanting to go down that path. What if you made the extra tears on charged attacks act and look like bubbles? They could move in random patterns or just drift slower than the current speed that you've got going. I'm excited to see more from this mod!

Maybe for brimstone make it so that the auto charge happens but when you shoot it’s stays shooting until the auto charge bar is empty and the lower the bar is the less damage is does. Basically like soy milk and brimstone but probably more damage.

This is fantastic, Neptunus is easily my favorite Planetarium item and an always-take when I see it, but its anti-synergies are a pain.

The main attribute of Neptunus is not water looking attacks, but auto charge. Sadly, modder didn't understand that.

Functionally autocharge wouldn’t do much, in any case it’s a way to get the tear effects for items that replace tears, which is always a very useful thing to have.

​@@invincibleloonie i think it would. Imagine tech x auto charging and it could fire like soy milk once it auto charges to full, but it takes a long to charge for balance. And of course you can fire midway for a slower fire rate.

Yep, for tech and tech x you should be able to fire a barrage of tears, kinda like kidney's stone but way shorter. After that's done you start shooting normally. No idea what to do with brimstone tho

Tbh, as others have said, it would've been way better to do something with the charge thing, just make it slower but like for example with tech X, at half charge it shoots one, but after that it starts shooting multiple tech x shots... Or something similar

Yeah, and I don't know why they have the technology synergy like that. Their excuse for having most of the synergy's spawn extra tears is because they're charged, but technology could have easily just worked like neptunus works with normal tears. Dr. fetus could have as well (although it would be very dangerous, but I would prefer that it stays more true to how the item is suppose to work.)

It would be cool if it auto charged things like brim and tech x, but let you fire them at any point during the charge (maybe for less damage on full charge only attacks like brim), kind of like the opposite of what it does normally. Edit: with the tear effects transferring to the new synergies, it feels way more flavorful. I like the way they executed the mod better than my idea.

I understand that if it was more autocharge stuff it would be better, but honestly the water effects are way more interesting to me. Just adding more charge stuff is fine but it’s frankly quite boring. The added tears, specifically becuase they inherit tear effects, allows for much funnier things to happen and over all more interesting runs,

I feel like the synergy with the knife should shotgun smaller piercing tears forward, but the one it has now is great for being risk-reward, and my idea of shotgunning piercing tears is good mainly for safety without skill. I'm not sure which I would prefer if I downloaded this mod

What if you can overcharge charged items like brimstone, spirit sword, mom's knife or tech x to shoot more than one attack at once or get a temporary boost on the charge time on things like c section? Technology can work like normal tears, same case as dr fetus and epic fetus could give you a tears down but make more than one crosshair appear at the same time close to each other, maybe 3 to be not so overpowered? Ludovico and monstro's lung really nailed it, they are cool!

That's not how Neptunus should synergize with Technology and Dr. Fetus. It should synergize in the way, that laser beams (from laser-firing eye) or bombs (from both eyes) are released in fast succession - just like normal tears. Seriously, this is because laser beams and bombs fire in a similar manner to normal tears.

amazing mod! honestly with this, it would bump Neptunus to Q4. i like that instead of focusing on the whole charge thing, it used the "floodgate" and watery aspect. definitely a bit more creative and more fun approach to the item. besides the balancing and wonky-ness of some synergies (which is expected), this mods a 9/10 for me!

Honestly, as much as I appreciate the attempt, I don’t really like a lot of the synergies, especially the earlier ones. I’d say that for charge items like tech X and brimstone, and also the spirit sword. Ocrams razor. Keep it simple. Have brimstone auto charge, and when you shoot it, as the charge bar goes down, it shrinks from default size down to tainted Azazel size. Same with tech X, full charge it auto shoots full sized Tech rings, as it goes down it goes to minimum charge size rings, etc etc I think the issue came where they were trying to go with a water theme which on one hand I can respect, but on the other it might as well just been made into its own water based item, cause it doesn’t follow the Neptunus item at all

It would be better to do with mom's knife so its actually takes longer charge, the knife is normal but in short range appears lots of water infront of our character, like his... vomiting with it? And for brimstone its actually making its bigger but smaller and its shot time being longer, also at its end appears water too!

I get the intention is giving the item synergies it doesn't have. The only thing about it is that most of these, besides monstro's lung and ludovico, doesn't make sense, since the original effect is autocharging a burst of tears while you are not shooting. Instead, these synergies are basically just stronger cricket's body synergies.

I like this mod, but I feel like the mod creator focused on the wrong thing with Neptunus. The big draw of Neptunus is the whole “storing tears to unload all at once” mechanic, not the water theme. None of these synergies incorporate that mechanic at all.

While I do like the synergies in the video, I have to concede to the comments section that the lack of auto-charge synergies in the mod takes away the unique feel of Neptunus. A lot of potential was wasted. Monstro's Lung is the only item that looks like it synergizes the way the devs intended Neptunus to work, unlike other charged attacks like Brimstone, C-Section and Tech X. Meanwhile, Technology and Dr. Fetus could've benefitted from the auto-charge by letting it work like base Neptunus (remember Dr. Fetus bombs deal zero knockback to each other!).
