That looks beautiful! Been following SLCs since the beginning and am living vicariously through people like you who purchase and create these beautiful vehicles. Thanks and congrats on getting through the titling process. I have always wondered how that worked. Now get that baby out on the road!!! Merry Christmas.

How much did it cost you to get to this point?

Nice, I'm envious of you guys, what do you guys do to make that kind of money you afford that?
@markb50662 жыл бұрын
Variety of tech/sales, but the real trick is saving up for many, many years AND balancing time with family. Time is just as big of a challenge as $$ on a project like this -- hence why it took me 8 years instead of 2 :)

Great job so are you going to make it more road car ie sounds deading sealingl off cockpit make more rd car than track car 😁😁 anyway have fun and see wot she can do
@markb50664 ай бұрын
Thanks! I just got it painted so will be putting on proper door seals, but overall I'm keeping it more of a street-legal track car.

Nice car. In Texas, what is the car titled as? Would it be a rebuilt title? And who is it insured with. I do not think Allstate will title a rebuilt car. Thanks.
@markb50662 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It's registered as an assembled replica. I went the replica route since it avoids annual inspection/emissions testing. Since it was a new chassis from RCR, it's a new title not rebuilt. I have it insured (surprisingly) through State Farm.

@@markb5066 Nice, I am going to build a cobra. I am way early in the planning phase. I am glad I can go this route and get it registered as a 65 not "brand new" or rebuilt.

is insurance pretty high since it is titled as a replica?
@markb50662 ай бұрын
@@OrderedFiber43 Surprisingly it's about the same as my daily driver through State Farm.

The Miata door latches are pimp.
@markb50662 жыл бұрын
Darn right they are😁! Most people don't know that Ferrari and Bugatti use Miata door handles on all of their cars too 😂

Body is really ripply looks like it needs to be smoothed out a little with paint work you gonna leave it as is
@markb50662 жыл бұрын
You're right, it's bare gelcoat straight out of the molds. I just did a very light buff. I'm going to leave it like this for a year or so to until I'm sure all the mechanical issues are sorted and stress cracks and other imperfections in the fiberglass surface before I get it sanded/painted.

I smell zero exhaust fumes in mine and my main body size are open. Maybe your exhaust tips don’t extend outside of the rear body?
@markb50662 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info! They do extend past the body, but not too far -- maybe 2 inches. I may need to extend them. It's also running pretty rich right now which doesn't help.

Did you make this car?
@markb50662 жыл бұрын
Yep, I built it in my garage. It's still a work in progress (paint, interior trim, tuning, etc), but I can at least drive it on the street now :)
@niyazmeah71422 жыл бұрын
@@markb5066 how long did it take from start to finish
@markb50662 жыл бұрын
@@niyazmeah7142 I wish I knew 😁 I built it over literally 8 years, but just a couple hours/month in my spare time with a regular job, wife/kids, etc. Probably a few hundred actual hours. there's an SLC forum on gt40s.com with a bunch of build logs from different people. Build times vary a lot.

@@markb5066 did/do you have to do emissions?
@markb50662 жыл бұрын
@@ps.6023 It's registered as a replica so TX doesn't require emissions for it. I do have it set up to pass the OBD2 test and it has cats though. It definitely wouldn't pass a tailpipe test.
@ps.60232 жыл бұрын
@@markb5066 wait if it wouldnt pass the tailpipe test, why the setup to pass OBD2 and the cats ? Im looking to come to Texas because im tired of Commufornia. Im wondering if i can register a Radical RXC as a replica as well.
@markb50662 жыл бұрын
@@ps.6023 There is no tailpipe testing in Texas, but they do have OBD2 testing. I wasn't sure if I would be able to register it as a replica when I was building the exhaust so errored on the side of caution and put cats on. Many counties in TX don't have emissions tests at all, but around Austin, Houston, and Dallas, they do.
