Think these are the lyrics. Feel free to add any corrections/suggestions. Lyrics; Where I was raised there was no streetlights, Just pitch black and passing headlights. Where we met there must have been dark signs, Omens, in your skies. Most days you reach for safety, Remain calm, forget that you know me. And when we met I could see dark signs, Alarm bells in your eyes. And I miss the man I was, The moment we left off. And I hate who I have become, Everytime I wake up. And if you saw the marks on my dashboard, The new scars that I didn't ask for. And would you call asking for answers? And tear my arms off. And most days you reach for safety, Remain calm, forget that you know me, And when we met I could see dark signs, Alarm bells in your eyes. (x2) And I miss the man I was, The moment we left off. And I hate who I have become, Everytime I wake up. (I dont want to wake, give in to my basic needs to be loved close to somebody) When we met I could see dark signs (x 5)

I was listening to this song on the bus this morning and the first verse is long enough that by the words 'your skies', I was practically begging for the chorus to begin... in the best way possible. The intro catches my interest every time, as if it's the first time I'm hearing it. Followed by Vessel's vocals immediately hooking me in, scratching my ASC brain. But by the end of the words I mentioned before, it's a place of the song you'd expect the chorus... And it doesn't come. Verse 1 continues, making me ITCH to know when the chorus will begin, but with the instrumental variating enough to keep me hooked. And then when the chorus does hit, it blows me away. Every. Time. The main vocals and the underlapping vocals send my ears to heaven. Then verse 2 arrives and I fall in love with the song. 'Tear my arms off' is always bone chilling. 'I might break and bend to my basic need to be loved and close to somebody' hits in a place I didn't realise existed before finding Sleep Token. The main vocals of the chorus itself bring me to tears. Such resonant, relatable words. I love this song. I love this album. I love this band. And to whoever gives up the time to read this comment, I hope you enjoy my over caffeinated, neurodivergent, opinionated and emotional review of this beautiful offering to Sleep. WORSHIP.

What genre is this? Idk, maybe some kind of studio produced alternative pop with metal core elements? What should it be called? Post pop? Dark Pop? Neo Gotham? It's a genre, so let's decide what it is called. There will be more sounds compared to it, inspired by it. Every band absolutely has to have a genre label, even if they invent a new one and are the only ones to do it.

I've been listening to the Sundowning album in a loop for I don't know how long now... couldn't quite make out clearly at first what the backup[secondary?] lyrics were, looked it up... "I might break and bend to my basic need to be loved and close to somebody".... I can't stop crying, wtf... ALL their songs speak to me on one level or another, I don't think there's ever been another band that has had this effect on me.... rollercoaster of emotions
