Hi Nick and thank you. Being in Israel as a war zone, 2 months ago it was possible to get the Prisma SMART only without the humidifier. They promised to dispatch it as soon as it arrives which happened only recently. I was advised to meantime keep a small bottle near the bed in case my mouth gets dry. When severe dryness woke me up, I’d created a leakage over the chine to insert a drinking straw. Despite many waking, I liked the cool soothing flow of air and resolved to stay positive. I followed the advice of another, to help get acclimated to the treatment by imagining being a top-gun pilot wearing an oxygen mask. I took it one step further by requesting my subconscious mind each evening to deliver me certain solutions via the air pipe. An improvement was noticeable but not satisfying enough; I was still tired to a disturbing degree. When I first connected the humidifier recently, I was disappointed as now hot air replaced the cool air I got so used to. It made it harder to fall asleep again. Dry mouth was still occurring to a disturbing degree prompting me to desperately move the humidity level from 3 to 5, but I woke up facing condensation. I recall that one doctor suggested using also a room humidifier. Could this work instead of an attached one? In the parcel, I found a nose mask, probably as compensation from the vendor for the delay. Would that be an option for me as a life-long mouth breather? Can the air temperature somehow be reduced without sabotaging the flow-over evaporation process? I am so tired! Your response will be highly appreciated. Thank you. Amos

Thank you, thank you thank you!! I've been looking for a video like this since I started with cpap (nearly 3 years ago now). I have learnt more in 45 minutes than that whole entire time. You explain things very clearly and succinctly without dumbing down (or as we say in Scotland - without treating us as eejits). I'm pretty sure I know at least as much if not more than some of the nurse specialists that I have reviews with. Awesome job!

Good Day Sir. I just wanted to chime in from the U.S.A. to say that I appreciate very much you taking the time to do all those very time consuming videos on Cpap. You are by far one of the best sources for this topic and I have learned a lot from your video's and now my AHI is down from over 24 to between 1.7 and 2.8. I also like it that you include your beautiful daughter and your handsome son in them as it makes the video's more fun and entertaining to watch. Thank you for all your hard work researching and posting the results. I will keep looking for your video's and I have subscribed to your channel.

Nick , I’ve been using ,cpap therapy for 12 years and have yet get a consistent good night sleep. Everyone always ask if I feel great, for me nothing has changed. And now just last week they changed me to a bipap machine I’ve just started watching your videos you’ve explained more in 2 minutes then the equipment provider explained in 12 years. Do you have any videos explaining how to tweak the settings on a bipap?
@CPAPReviews
@CPAPReviews 11 ай бұрын
Hi Harry, thank you for the kind words! Hopefully you will notice some improvements using BiPAP. I don't do many videos on BiPAP settings and the reason is many people who are using BiPAP machines (and the various forms of BiPAP) also have other respiratory conditions (not just OSA) and it's more risky to change those settings compared with CPAP. There are however a number of pro's in community.sleephq.com that are happy to assist with BiPAP advice and recommendations but my personal feeling is it's best to leave these settings up the respiratory specialist. Cheers

First, let me thank you for this amazing software. It, and your prolific collection of videos, have really enabled me to get dialed-in as a new APAP user. Thanks for the great explanation. Looks like SleepHQ helps to understand MUCH better what's going on than the pitiful "data" that the myAir app provides me. My provider didn't include a sim card in my new ResMed AirSense 11. So I'll try inserting my own tonight and I hope it will spit out historical data as well as from tonight on. Then I can load that to SleepHQ. Fingers crossed.
@CPAPReviews
@CPAPReviews Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, i think you've probably already gone and done this but might be a good idea to format that old card with FAT32 prior to inserting it. If not don't worry and hopefully it just works. Regarding the data, it will transfer old summary data stored on the device but not the high resolution detailed data. You need to have the SD card inserted in your device during use for it to store high detailed stuff like your breathing etc. Cheers

@@CPAPReviews Thanks much Nicko for your thoughtful reply. I got some help from the tech portion of HQ - Dennis, who suggested the same thing. I reformatted and it work perfectly. I got my 1st recorded night's data uploaded, but so far no history summary. But I'll look again. It's probably there and I missed it.

Well Hi ! I'm new to all this. Been on CPAP since Jan 20. and awaiting doctor's decision on maybe switching to BiPAP. So, all I can do is keep on truckin' and try to learn all the lingo and such. You call yourself sleep thechnician/consultant, but I don't get that it seems that through SleepHq, I could actually change the machine's parameters as 'maybe opposed' to doctor's directives... I haven't gotten a sd card yet 'cause awaiting for decision on BiPAP...But I really like your approach to all explanations. Cheers

Thanks for the video i put them in a folder for future reference. This doesn't apply to me at the moment as i can't retrieve daily data as my machine only does a yearly data retrieval by SD card. And as its data secured, only the sleep Dr or where i bought it can retrieve the data and get a print out. But very informative anyway many thanks. Will file it for future reference anyway.

If the ResMed 11 marks hypopneas but doesn’t adjust pressure for the reason you gave (no point since there is no obstruction), does that mean that a CPAP really can’t treat hypopnea in any way? I am new to this, have mild obstructive apnea and a lot of hypopneas. My O2 ring shows I spend close to an hour a night below 90% oxygen saturation and don’t know what if anything can be done about it. The machine shows me about half my apneas are obs and half central.
