Nobody can be perfect. No house can be perfectly spotless. It's a defeatist attitude to say it's not worth helping. To those people I say - maybe you should stop showering because tomorrow you will just wake up and have to do it again. If you're helping people from a place of shared humanity and humility, every act of kindness is worth it, no matter how small or how short-lived it may be. You will never know how deeply you touch people that you give a hand up.

That was incredible the progress you made in that bedroom. When I cleaned my son’s hoarder house I explained that I wasn’t going to throw out anything except packaging and expired food, and that I would keep similar items together, eg, shoes, board games, electronics (so it’s easy to find). Perhaps if before you clean you explain the process and ask for their input it might reduce their stress.

I believe that it may get overwhelming for the homeowner partly because we hoarders generally are in our homes by ourselves. We have spent many years not allowing any outsiders into our space of disaster. I believe it has a lot to do with the noise aspect. Cleaning is not quiet. Some of us may also start to feel ambivalent about the trust we have given the cleaners. Some may worry about what is being thrown out or placed where it ends up. Just my own thoughts.

I highly recommend the channel "A Hoarder's Heart" because she herself is a recovering hoarder, and as she has cleared out her home, she's explained hoarding disorder so beautifully. I have such a better understanding and compassion for this. We all have our problems, some are just more visible than others.

Wow, a lot of clothes.😮 Were they all clean? So difficult to help a hoarder. I get the person overwhelmed. You are putting in bags and they don't know what bag specific items are in. I think if able to put items in drawers or organized in bins maybe wouldn't be so tramatic. But with volume you can only do so much. Keep up the great work.

Great job. I found your channel by Beautiful Mess. I don’t have a problem with hoarding but I have a problem with deleting my comments or personal things due to a lot of death in my life. I also can’t get rid of the things my kids have given to me. That would be sinful lol. I lost my husband to suicide but my love for cleaner is pretty strong. Just wanted to say I understand. Keep checking up on her to offer your help. She will need it in baby steps. There’s a lot of ignorance out there to mental illness and hoarding. try to over look it 😊
