I really like how this world is seemingly so dangerous that even doing something as innocent as having a sleepover with a friend needs a training tape. Terrifying.

It vaguely reminds me of another analog horror that's a very idealized advert for a nice hotel resort. Have a nice meal, hang out at the bar. Enjoy the many other amenities. BUT be locked in your room by 9 PM and don't come out until morning. Don't open the door or leave your room no matter what you hear in the hallways. Don't look out the windows. Like you say, a superficially normal seeming world but with some very weird dangers! And they've become completely normalized!

These are the kind of Analogue videos that I love. A lot of people prioritize the lack of outright creepy elements, but what actually makes analogue horror work is the creepy elements being treated as normal everyday threats. Foreigners are terrified by America's gun safety videos because in their eyes, such a thing being normalized is scary. Americans fear videos about safety around spiders and snakes in australia for the same reason. It's when we get an otherwise normal video that has moments of out of place eerieness like the video has been possessed that the illusion starts to break.

Seeing how this is presented in such a standard kind of way, I'm imagining that this is in a future where alternates and such things have become commonplace, and people are now just releasing PSAs of how to do regular things people were able to do in the past without issues. The PSA speaks of "being visited", checking facial features, and a dark red sky, as if it's common knowledge now and the viewer simply doesn't need to be informed any further. Like a family that lives in a haunted house and has become friends with the ghost living there.

How to avoid THE BAD DREAMS: NO relaxation before bed-time, this will get your consciousness onto a deeper level and will stirr up all the sorrows and truths in the back of your head (literally this part of your brain), talking about all-being-well makes it worse. Analog Horror Story (Basically) Think of this: It’s 6:30 PM. Your mom flings the door open. “Put the Switch away, guys. You can watch KZbin, but that’s it,” your mom says, with her hands on her hips, then gently closed the door. You turn off the Switch then set it carefully and cautiously on your desk. You then watch KZbin until you fall asleep. 10:00 PM (midnight) You were having a pretty good dream, but you were awoken by the sound of screaming. You jump out of the bed, and your heart is pounding. You open the door to exit your bedroom. Your friends are dead still on the floor. Their bodies have been torn apart into shreds, and their head is all the way in the bathroom. You peer through the open bathroom door. You see an entity eating both of your friend’s heads. You run quickly back to your room and hide under the bed. 12:00 AM (Actually Midnight) The entity walks into your room. You’re breathing heavily, but surprisingly quietly.
