Pretty sick, personally I would buy this over the type R.

I like the type r for everything over this. With one big exception, AWD! For that reason alone I would pick the GRC.

@@steve8803 Yup. AWD is a game changer, especially in Canada.

@@Jeditilt It certainly is! That's why I bought a wrx. I know it is a class down from these vehicles, but the price reflects that.

Great review guys. I enjoy the depth of the comparisons to offerings from other brands, and I agree its brilliant to see Toyota taking part in this segment in such a unique and interesting way.

2 thumbs up. I really enjoyed this overview/review of the GR C. Opposed to other GR video - you pointed out the nuances of what the GR C is. Not fastest - Not the best interior - etc etc. But is it one of the most fun to drive - which is what it is all about. My Blue GR C Circuit is currently on a boat to Vancouver - Delivery in early May........... (BTW - I've had a '14 Fiesta ST from new & would not have considered the GR C - the AWD is what attracted me to it - the ST is tons of fun but the FWD is getting old)
@Sleepygarage3 ай бұрын
Thank you, glad you liked it! Awesome, hope you enjoy the car! Great upgrade from the ST now that the Focus RS isn't available anymore for that AWD!

Not sure why people are ragging the 3 cylinder, thing puts out 300hp no issue on a lighter smaller engine

And more torque than a 4 banger
@Zack_Axel7 ай бұрын
The engine was originally built for the GR Yaris for WRC so they have a max displacement of 1.6 L, Toyota chose to go with 3 rather than 4 cylinder to give the engine lighter weight and to have larger pistons.

I wonder how much head room you have for tuning before you need internals. That's a good amount of HP/Torque for 3 Cyl factory.

Lol. The two worst reasons to give. Now if you said “I’m in stop and go traffic every single day”……..maybe. Who the fuck cares it’s faster?? Get an electric car if that’s your concern.

"best AWD Hatchback" I wish there were more Manual AWD Hatchbacks in the U.S. to even compete. Car companies are making less and less

If where talking stock for stock sure, if where talking tunning and potential I'd get a golf R, it's faster and with a simple stage 1 tune and better suspension it handles better than the gr corolla. Funny enough It's also probably more reliable lol
@BeanieBeanBoi7 ай бұрын
gr corolla doesnt have a waterpump & thermostat as a replacement maintenance item 😂
@esu25377 ай бұрын
@@BeanieBeanBoi first of all that's not a very common issue and even if ither of the things you mentioned do go back it's a fairly cheap thing to replace. Compare that to Toyota's overpriced 3 cylinder awd system that overheats, not to mention the engine can't hold any more boost because it will literally explode. Compare that to the golfs R tunability and reliability. I'm not talking stock for stock, I'm talking modded vs modded, it is cheaper and more reliable to make a golf R fast, unlike the gr corolla.
@jegglz38456 ай бұрын
man that's some cope you huffing to say a VW going to be more reliable than a Toyota, i guess Motive videos on the Yaris proved nothing for the engine Toyota made. Look out guys spoiler alert it needs a head gasket at 480 wheel to make more power.

The in depth review is great, but car isn't. 3 Cylinders on 4WD, just not my cup of tea. My minimum is 4 Cylinders, any thing less is just asking for trouble down the road. They could have made few changes to the car to make it look more aggressive. From front it looks exactly like a normal Corolla. I wouldn't buy it even with Toyota's legendary reliability, this is for kids who want to tune it and lower it, remove muffler to make noises and that's it. It aint gaping anything other than other Corollas.
