The half spin is nerfed so its much slower and less affected. Turn your back the the play the defender will drill you.

That half-spin tip has fucking saved me in rivals and made so i don't destroy my contoller in anger. Went 8-2 my last ten games and a LOT of goals with that half-spin!

Thank you so much for the info, I've been wondering why I couldn't utilize backskating without losing the puck everytime. I had a theory that it had something to do with protect puck, but I thought it must've just been a placebo effect, lolol. Really helpful tips, for real though, as for the first time ever, I've been struggling in Div 4 (I've almost always been Div 1 - 2, rarely div 3, but this year is much harder for me, as my strength used to be stick handling / wrist shots), and I've won the last 7 of 9 games I played since watching this video. I was able to implement it immediately into the first game I played without practicing it, but, it definitely is harder that way (I don't tend to get frustrated when trying new things, I find it more fun & in my case, more practical as I tend to retain muscle memory very well, even to a fault if I stay in practice mode too long, lol). Keep us updated on anything else that you can think of, as of course everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses, but even providing insight on how you typically practice before playing (as well as what drills/moves used/ways you learned that made it easier or more fun for you) is a tremendous help. I've played since NHL 09', and every year since, but I know personally that it's always been more of "[Get a] Feel for it, don't think about it [at all], and everything will work out" kind of guy, lol. Another big tip guys, ALWAYS PLAY THE FULL 60 MINUTES, even if it's 0-5, I've personally made bigger comebacks (especially this year, where it seems like momentum plays a HUGE role in every puck bounce, lol) by just playing like it was 0-0, telling myself to see how many goals I can get in "x" amount of time. Don't give up until the game ends! This year I've scored GWGs and tying goals with under 0.5 seconds left like no ones business - and it's also happened against me even more times, lol.

I find that when I pass the puck my players are always standing still and take forever to get skating and opponents catch and pressure me so fast. I notice this a lot and maybe it’s a conn3ction issue. It’s frustrating as hell

The half spin is a really good move but it’s kinda easy to counter if you’re an advanced player. Just check them and knock him off the puck.

I need help. When cycling the puck in the offensive zone, my winger follows me around closely which is very annoying. I want him to stay mid to create space for a passing lane, but I’ll pass to my defenseman to start the cycle, and my winger just sprints at me... can anybody fix this?
