Fititsike, which means "the sand that sticks to the skin", is one of the main villages of Madagascar. Its inhabitants, the Vez, live to the rhythm of the very high tides of the full moon. For the four days of the equinox, each family must catch enough fish to survive the rainy season, when it becomes too dangerous to take the pirogues out to sea.
Documentary “Lands of Legends - Fishermen of the full Moon”
Direction: Olivier Roussin
Production: ZED, La Cinquième & AB Productions

Ye it is true what you say, but there are forces more powerful than those people who are poisoning it and killing it in far more sinister ways than they can imagine. I wonder if they could raise their voices in protest to help those who are trying to stop it?

Exactly......but those in power take that away by educating people to ....instead depend on money. Money is a means of control by Governments while Religions insert fear. The upside of this BS Covid 19 is that people are waking up to their power and heading back to Nature while Governments and Religions lose their control every day over people.

@@leidersammlung6955 Yes. The Universe was never created, that is a thought Religions have put into people minds thru their bible. Instead everything is Energy.....its just there and thru tense concentration and intensions. Things manifest into being. There is no death or birth....just transfer from one form to another. Humans beings are unlimited beings of light that live on and on forever.

@@spaceman5734 sounds like something a space man would say! Everything comes from nothing, you‘re an insignificent speck flying through that nothing, going nowhere………meaningless. Or…….we are energy, like gods, our energies just transfer to other forms, and nothing ever really dies. Well, Mr. space man, to each, his own. Ya don‘t make any sense, and you can‘t be happy………but it must be sort of comforting pretending you know stuff.

@@leidersammlung6955 Sure. Im just sharing with you. It seems so many people prefer to believe in a bible that was written by other men (Pope Constantine 5th Century) telling them about gods. That belief system is now destroying the world. While you are waiting on your god to come save you, those that KNOW better are busy coming up with more ways of controlling you....just like this BS covid 19. Now they got you wearing masks and imprisoning you in your own homes. Each to their own is well and good, BUT NOT when it affects the rest of us. I have tolerated stupid people long enough, now I have to suffer along side them and their stupidity. NO its time I stand up and point out how stupid you all are.

What an amazing life. I bet a lot of people watching see them as primitive and backwards but I guarantee you those people have more meaningful lives than most of us will ever have. Most of us go to school, get a job, get married then work until retirement while living in a neighborhood where we never get to know our neighbors other than a wave from time to time then retire and try to move to a warmer place where we reminisce on our younger days when we had a purpose (work and raising a family) these people on the other hand have a purpose all through their lives.

I think you'ed find it's not quite as simple as that, especially when they get a tooth abscess that can kill them or no cloth to repair a sail, Life can be hard and filled with sorrow for everyone. Hate to pop your bubble, but how will they survive when huge societies ruin the fishing?
@dade8053
@dade8053 2 жыл бұрын
@@10laws2liveby Hard to get cavities when you don’t eat processed foods high in sugar therefore the chances of getting a tooth abscess is a lot lower than you might think for these people. Also humans lived thousands of years without modern dental care and the solution when all else failed was an extraction. Life isn’t suppose to be easy. A life without some type of challenge becomes dull and our brains evolved to figure out solutions to life problems. The fishing industry mainly affects deep sea fish species. But yes our society impacts their life unfortunately.

It's more Southeast Asian than Pacific Islander culture. The first people to inhabit Madagascar were Malay people from Borneo hundreds of years before the Bantu set foot on the island. Look at there boats, it is a Maritime Southeast Asia canoe design. Besides Indonesia and Philippines, only Madagascar have this design of boats with 2 outriggers on both sides. Pacific Islander boats only have one outrigger. Plus, rice is a staple diet in Malagasy culture just like Asians.

A beautiful village on the beach in the beginning of this video. Real paradise.!! The weather in the tropics is not warm anymore, but hot. This because of the global warming going on. As a child, I could stand barefoot on the asfalt round noon full sun, in the mid/late 60s, waiting for the ice cream truck to pass by. Now in 2023 I can’t even walk on the asfalt anymore. Even the sand I walk on is hurting my feet, because it’s too hot. I wonder how these people on the video are handeling the heat thats getting worse every year…..
