George's training as a lead 🎸 guitarist as a Fab meant he had a small window to develop a lead break or solo.Which meant every note served the song,and he carried that philosophy onto his solo slide work! George,you were and are the most TASTEFUL guitarist ever!🎸🙏😍😥👍

I share all the positive comments about George's slide abilità. Just incredible. And incredible that he developed this ability outside the Beatles and precise with Delaney and Robert. He received the appreciation of the most important artist : Eric Clapton , Bob Dylan, Jimmy Page Brian May, Tom Petty , Paul Simon, Eleonora John Carl Oerkins, Francesco Sinatra. But not in the Beatles starting with George Martin who used to show him the notes to play on the piano. Not to mention John and Paul who were very little interested in giving him the possibility of recording his songs nor entourage him to be songwriter. He had to struggle and he realized himself better in his solo career supported by many friends.

George was the perfect slide guitar player. Just think of Behind That Locked Door, or I Live For You. It's impossible not to get the goose bumps when one hears those songs. Life itself and Cheer Down are also monumental. 🖖😊❤

I always recommend to listen to Alvin Lee's (yep., THAT Alvin Lee) The Bluest Blues. You will hear a mindblowing slide from Hari. Then check what Alvin had to say about George's playing and how it encouraged and motivated him to come up with a stellar performance himself.

Hammett has no feel , and never has, He is a cruncher and twiddler .. but he’s done well for himself and good luck to him.. Harrison was a completely musical player capable of many different styles and never played a note just for the sake of playing it and that’s the Difference… Growing up in the 80s-90s I Don’t ever Remember Metallica talking about The Beatles , it wasn’t till Noel Gallagher came along that they all started banging on about the Beatles being an Influence 🙄🥸🤦‍♂️

Hammet has a good technique and the right feeling to accompany Hetfield's riffs Harrison would not have been able to play Metallica's solos but Hammet does not master Harrison's feeling and technique, they are different genres, different styles

Mate, Harrison was a great guitarist. He could play metal guitar solos. He didn't even play slide in The Beatles, but learned it in a few years and became one of the best around. He learned the sitar while in The Beatles. Played a mean ukulele. The Beatles are underrated musicians, they basically played guitar for 8 hours per day from age 17 to 30. @@bufonoise

George did a very original jazzy blues presentation in standard tuning, it looked like, takes a very smooth touch. Metallica was a one string wonder.

Cloud Nine (live) is in Am tuning. He probably used open E tuning as much as standard, especially early on in his solo years.

George Harrison the biggest fan of the Stratocaster of all guitarists. His absolute favourite guitar between 1956 untill he died. He tried to buy one in 1957 but because of a US embargo there was not one Fender Stratocaster available in the whole Liverpool area. A very dissapointed George Harrison Who had been painting Stratocasters in school for hours every day instead of listening to the teacher had to buy a Stratocaster copy called Futurama. In December 1964he finally got his Fender Stratocaster ( that was hard to come by in London even by aBeatle at that time he got Lucky) and after that 80 to 90 % of the electric guitar work Georgd with the Beatles was with a Fender Stratocaster. In his solo career he recorded slmost 100 % of the flectrical guitar work with the Fender Stratocaster. At his death he owned more than 300 Fender Stratocasters. Most bought by himself as he did not allow his maneger commercial . He did however at a time When he rarely gave interviews sit down for 6 days of interviewing for the official Fender Stratocaster book, in which he got the lion part

No he also played in open E a lot, especially in the early solo years. He didn’t use that tuning as much in his later years, though he did return to that tuning for Free As A Bird. Cloud Nine is in Am tuning.

And cheerdown, but they aren't even his most brilliant works. Marwar Blues, Any Road.... His best total job is done on Life Itself. Those guitars talk to each other and the listener. George himself once stated that he did his best slide work for Belinda Carlisle's Keep A Light On for Me. I remember hearing that George had done the solo and I was struggling to learn it. Belinda Carlisle was on Letterman that week, so I thought I'd see how it was played. The wiz kid speedster screwed it up and down, total butcher job. Im sure it's on KZbin. Enjoy watching another speedster screw up a controlled pitch slide and say, HAIL GEORGE HARRISON :)
