Worst thing you can do is urbanize wildlife with human food or selfishly calling them to you for selfies. You remove their fear of man which often equals a death sentence for some of them. But some people just can't help themselves. Looking forward to your next one. Cheers. 👍

Add a yoga mat to the kit...makes crawling around on the gravel much more gentle. I use mine in conjunction with the folded tarp. Tip #2: crank that spare tire down and lube everything real good once or twice a year otherwise it may not come down when you actually need it to do so. I sure admire your work and appreciate the effort you put in to bring me along with you.

@chrisreeves80379 ай бұрын
My spur 406 story. Great choice. You feel like your on a private South West Texas ranch remote camping Vs the reality of 15 min from downtown Del Rio. In late Feb and Mar the Wisconsin Snowbirds start to show up at the Spur. Here is why: the warmth. I recall being at that very camp spot next to the freshly built vaulted toilet 1995 the first week of Jan. I was freezing at daybreak in my tent/cot for the temp had fallen to 29 F. The sun came up and started to heat the tent then by 10:30 am it was 95 inside the tent. I was sweating! The southern sun will warm the coldest morning in a hurry in SW Texas. Also you can swim there. I noticed the lake is down by 45 ft which makes the water more "cloudy." As a rule you just walk down the the spur road until you are in chest deep water. The best swimming is "$10/night governors landing" next to the bridges. The water is more clear due to the rocky terrain at that point, and the canyons are steep making for deep water. I have seen visibility underwater at 50 ft in April. The other advantage of this camp sight are the commanding views of the lake and the sun set over the RR Bridge and lake which is about 150 ft deep when the lake is full. Remind the Northerns who visit us: how fast weather can change here. I recall driving from the Del Rio sector to Cloudcroft/ Sierra Blanca peak in a snow storm. I counted over 200 "not-heads" and their autos in the ditches. Most were around the Tex/NM state line which is Carlsbad/Hobbs. Well I will close with how is the heater working. That subject lead me to watch a couple of your videos in the past. Enjoyed those and your recent videos of my home.

I would have wrapped the wire over and around the rubber hanger rather than around the rubber hanger support bars, as that would put a little less stress on the wire and maybe last quite a bit longer.
@SlimPotatohead10 ай бұрын
I suspect wrapping the rubber would likely just split the rubber and leave the tailpipe rattling from loose wire. It survived until the muffler shop. SP

All my cars have a couple "universal tailpipe hangers' in them. Most folks call them wire coat hangers 😅 That rebar wire is also in there, just too handy for everything. I even fixed a broken leaf srpring with a roll of it and vice-grips once; got me to where I could do a proper fix 😎 Texas storms can be beautiful and intense so checking radar and warnings online is advisable. You also need to be aware to not set up in a wash, as flash floods in desert environs can come faster than you can get away. Can't wait to see where you're headed next and glad I'm not downwind of you after the cheap burrito 🤣 Safe Travels and enjoy life 👍

Looks like your little trailer needs some aluminum diamond plate gravel guards on the lower front corners. Once the gel-coat is penetrated, the glass resin will degrade due water intrusion and the capillary effect and create a soft spot which can spread. I have repaired many a boat with that type of damage and seen it on fiberglass trailers on the roofs where penetrations from mountings or vents are present. As an alternative, a heavy/thick self adhesive vinyl or butyl rubber or a spray on gravel guard coating could be used. I also noticed when you were repairing the exhaust, that your truck doesn't have gravel/rock/mud guards, something your trailer could benefit from and could use, too.. I'm a weather geek, so thanks for the cloud pics.
