Kiedyś miałem golfa 4 1.9 4motion z edc. Niesamowicie dobrze ten samochód radził sobie w śniegu. Ograniczał go tylko prześwit... :) Później jeździłem foresterem i moim zdaniem do codziennej jazdy haldex jest lepszy - stabilniejszy na śniegu, a i dynamiczne ruszenie na mokrym w Golfie też lepiej wychodziło. Golfem mogłem ruszyć na śniegu z pełnym butem bez strachu, że tył zacznie wyprzedzać przód. Subaru było bardziej niestabilne, ale dzięki temu na pustych drogach dawało więcej frajdy :D Oba samochody miały nowe opony i poodbną moc.

Co nie zmienia faktu, że forester to ekstra samochód i dał mi kupę frajdy z jazdy. :) Golf z haldexem oprócz dobrego napędu miał jeszcze jedną zaletę; nikt się po tym aucie nie spodziewał, że ma 4x4. :D Miałem to szczęscie, że użytkowałem go przez dwie śnieżne zimy i nie raz z radością obserwowałem zdziwione miny innych kierowców :D

Thanks! There are some 2wd cars - mainly the ones with driving modes like Renault Captur XMOD, Peugeot 3008 & 5008 with Advanced Grip Control. Or sporty ones like Suzuki Swift Sport.

Would coilovers somehow effect performance? Something with the springrates and weight aplied to the wheels, or perhaps making it harder to compress the springs on the wheels wich have to 'bump' over the rollers? With stiff spings, the weight of the car has to be lifted over the extra hight instead of the spings just having to compress a bit to lift just the wheels instead of the whole car? Correct me if I'm wrong, but be a jerk about it, it's the internet after all

That's a good point, that may slightly affect the results but that's visible in the test. If suspension is too stiff then wheels are starting to spin on pavement, like here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmatZJqsmb-qp9U

I have Škoda Octavia 4x4 A5 (2005, diesel engine 1.9 TDI 77 kw), so if I am not wrong it uses 2. generation od Haldex system. So, it doesn't have that e-brake system that is braking the wheel without traction for transfering the power to another wheel. If I found myself in tricky situation, would it be helpfull to apply quick braking (pressing the brakes quickly several times or it is useless)? I saw this comment under one video of skoda scout pulling out stuck car from the snow: " Use some brake my friend to help the diffs!!!" CAN YOU EXPLAIN IT PLS ? :/

i have ESP and ABS offcourse, you missunderstood me when I was mentioning e-brake system that is controling power transfer, I was refering to 5. generation of haldex which have EDL (electronic differential lock) that is applying brakes to the wheels that are sliping and it is shitfing power to those wheels with traction. So in older generation, 1. 2. and 4. - th i think, when one wheel slips it diverts all the power in that way beacuse the power follows the path of least resistance on open differentials. Correct me If I am wrong :/

@@Ahelot No problem :) Light usage of brakes should help, this way driver may try to do what electronics should do. However it doesn't work in many cars cause there is brake pedal priority so power may be cut.

I don't think, you should've used different engines... The 1.9 TDI has far more torque earlier in the revs and the audi needed more revs for the same torque, more revs means more slipping and therefore the torsen was doomed already... If you compare, don't forget the different torque thats given by the different engines at different revs and therefore different revolutions of the wheels... This is important.

Firstly - 1.9 TDI has less torque than S3. Secondly - none of these has torsen. Thirdly - max torque doesn't matter, it is not used in this test.

And no, all you are measuring in the test with one wheel on the ground is, if enough torque reaches the one wheel to get the vehicle going. More torque, the better

The ability of the engine may be 1000 Nm but it won't generate it if grip doesn't allow it. Edit - I forgot to mention - max torque of 1.9 TDI is from 240 Nm to 320 Nm, depends on version.

@@petarjelinic7682 EDS in English is EDL. Both cars have it on rear axles, they even slip the rear wheel on pavement. It is not possible to pass this test without EDL. Other indication is the back of the car - you can see it going down like handbrake was used. It takes more time cause power must go through haldex first. That is standard behaviour for this type of awd systems (I mean more time needed to pass the test - if pass at all).

W teście zostały porównane dwa identyczne układy jak by dołożyć np jakieś a4 quattro wtedy rzeczywiście można by nazwać film quattro vs haldex a tak to raczej porównane softu albo sprawnośći układu jedynie, nie mówię już o tych nowszych wagach bo tam wszędzie jest rozłączany ze względu na ekonomię. Quattro ja 4motion are brands that utilize different 4wd systems, most common are Haldex and Torsen. Both of these cars are based on Haldex system, so the title of the video can be misleading to many watchers.

Both car using Haldex system, so Audi A3, Audi TT and think so Audi Q3 using Haldex system, they are not a true Quattro, because the engines are mounted longitudinally and because that it's a normal 4motitos or synchro system. We have also an example at VW Passat B5.5 which engine is mounted longwise and this is pure blood Quattro vehicle with Torsen drive.

Most of 2022 SUVs perform the same. Seems that 4x4 systems didn't evolve a lot in the last 20 years. And hybrids are worse. Check RAV4 or Outlander. They fail to pass even with 2 wheels on the asphalt.

The Audi A3 and the Golf 4 system are the same haldex (so there is no point in comparing them), only the manufacturers have the names of 4wd for their models. For me, a quattro is only associated with a real quattro, i.e. audi b2 quattro with all interlocking.😉

Well, there is a small lag, haldex 1 & 2 are reactive. Gen 3 was first one with some proactive control. The biggest problem of first generation wasn't the lag, but the handling - unexpected change from undeersteer to oversteer. Software issue, not the haldex itself.

Oprogramowanie nie ma tu nic wspólnego z załączeniem działa tak samo w obu przypadkach. Kolega ma rację mniejsze ciśnienie na pompie haldex słabsze spięcie lub mechaniczne zużycie. Serwis cykliczny się kłania. Siłę i szybkość spięcia steruje tu Insert w pompie można go zmienić. Jest duża różnica w działaniu.
