@raskolnikov187311 жыл бұрын
Nope, the terms 'atheist" and 'agnostic' are not mutually exclusive. I (and most atheists) am an agnostic atheist. Agnosticism is an epistemological stance; that is, it is concerned with knowledge, what we can know. I do not know (nor does anyone else) if a god or gods exist, though I do consider it to be extremely improbable given the evidence we currently have about how the universe works. Therefore, I am agnostic. Atheism is about belief. I do not believe in the proposition that a god or gods exist, and thus I am an atheist as well. Knowledge is a subset of belief, which means that it is perfectly consistent to be both agnostic and atheist.

I find that a lot of people, that discard religion but are still open to learn, find more wisdom from good meaningful music. Real experience, and all that goes with it. I have to say I've found more useful ways of seeing things through true artists and musicians than my childhood of christianity. Though I have to say, my parents and grandparents don't know that we are the lucky ones to be able to get an emotional release from what makes us feel, rather than what they tell us we should feel. Truly we are lucky to have the music and the support that we do! The best rock stars are fucking switched on!

@stacyragland31238 жыл бұрын
+6Bene Things moving or shaking by themselves , the bed or even the couch shaking, feeling of being watched, hearing a loud sound in another room but nothings any different in that room (such as hearing a sound like all of my clean dishes in the dish rack falling on the floor but I go in there and theres nothing out of place),have heard laughter right beside me, heard running or footsteps, have heard breathing, see small balls of light,see dark movement out of the corner of my eye(also have seen something white out of the corner of my eye as well recently), have been touched, things disappearing then sometimes showing up randomly in different places & thats if they ever show up at all, lights turning on or off or flickering and when I was little I used to see a giant shadowy mass or beetle on the wall or ceiling. thats all I can think of off the top of my head and these are things that happen or have happened in my house I live in now, I've had other experiences in other places I've lived or just been to. Alot of these events have been witnessed by one or more other people. And just fyi the home I live in now is the same home I lived in as a young child & it was built in 1889.

Stacy Ragland Old buildings can work this kind of magic (uneasy feelings or tricks if you will) on people living in them.I know this experience first hand also.The other stuffs sounds freaky i dont know tho.Does that happen offten, does it bother you?
@stacyragland31238 жыл бұрын
+6Bene Theres no rhyme or reason to it,sometimes alot will happen in a short period of time then it may be a year or two in between things happening. It doesn't bother me ,it can startle or surprise me at times but I don't fear it for the most part(there was one particular time I was pretty freaked out) . It has actually helped me out before and I've been around it so long now its somewhat comforting to never feel alone, I know it sounds weird. It did scare the crap outta me when I was little! I just don't want my children to have the same fear as I did when I was a kid. My son also hears breathing , has things disappear & has things fly off his shelves. My daughter hasn't mentioned anything yet but shes still toddler/preschool age. I can't claim to know what's going on here but there's definitely something or somethings happening.

If Corey read the New Testament he would agree with its direction for life. Unity, forgiveness, kindness, humbleness, redemption all great things which supersede anything and everything man can misinterpret. God's revelation to mankind through the Hebrew and Greek texts which is the Bible is not about money it is about redemption and reconciliation. God rocks and wants to establish a relationship with everyone.

There's definitely something spiritual and I truly feel that everyone believes or wants to believe that there is, despite any animosity towards religion or the world. I'v jumped sides a few times in my younger days but i'm set , as of now, as a Christian. I'm not the typical church goer who reads the new testament and acts like the old testament is outdated and useless. I'm not part of the organized cult people blindly follow and I don't worship the writings of apostles and popes, I consider myself a free thinker who analyzes the texts for what they are and see's everything in the Bible in terms of description or prescription, not constant prescription like many do. Buddhism was greatly considered but it seems like watered down and teaches people to pray to a teacher who asked not to be seen as any type of God, which I find about as odd as Catholics praying to and through idols of Mary. I encourage everyone to seek what is most spiritually true. There is one truth, don't be afraid the challenge the theories of someone else because you don't want to offend them. Don't deny a religion for its people or associate yourself with the opposition of religion as a backlash at those people, it makes you just as much of a hypocrite as them. Consider other people's feelings but don't feel obligated to respect someone's opinions.

This guy reminds me a whole lot of myself, I have also had certain paranormal experiences and that was since I was 3 or 4 years old which means I personally don't remember the early ones but my mom told me about them. I have also had very specific dreams of things that hadn't happened yet that were so realistic that people I knew had to repeatedly assure me that we hadn't been to the area before and one of my friends who I remembered stubbing his knee so we had to go home from the woods happened and freaked me the fuck out for several weeks. I have come to terms with the fact that I sometimes will experience weird things at times and have only once had a sense of being attacked (around age 7) where I woke up because of what I thought was a burglar in our appartment but then heavy banging sounded from the walls in the halls and it sounded like things were being tossed around so when it knocked on the door I thought it would be my parents but instead a dark figure that looked like it was wearing a hood but at this point I was scared out of my mind and dove under my covers like a stupid kid, I was lying there for a little while and eventually figured it was a bad dream (felt like half an hour but was probably more like 5 minutes) and when I wanted to remove the covers and go tell my parents it was just standing over me, looking at me and as soon as i moved the covers it grabbed my arm and started to pull me to the window so of course I fought and screamed bloody murder and loud banging started to sound from the walls and all of a sudden it just left me and glided through the wall and out over the street disappearing into the dark leaving me lying on the floor between the bed and the window seconds before my parents came in (the parents mentioned was my birth mother and my stepdad) and comforted me (well my mom did while my stepdad checked for broken things or intruders with a bat) and determined it to be a bad dream and I was too tired and proud of my fighting off a monster to argue but told my mother the next day and she actually believed me and told me that every second child on her side of the family had experienced paranormal things for generations which I hadn't really known but figured it was kind of normal as she didn't really seem to had been unnerved by my previous sightings of spirits when she had told me about them. (also the bed was a king size and I had never ever rolled out of bed before and it was not sleep paralysis because I was able to fight back when it tried to grab me). I don't think there are many evil spirits around but there are most certainly some but they are secretive and seem to leave when confronted with multiple individuals. I do not need people to believe me because I know what I have seen and felt on my own body long before I had ever heard of the concept of ghosts and spirits. Live long and live happy with who you are, peace.

Ok, he says he doesn't believe in religion because mans fingerprints are more involved than gods. (Man describing mythical thing) He continues to say how he is trying to explain these "paranormal" encounters and explain them through research. (Man describing mythical thing) See where I'm going with this? It's eerily similar to how the bible was written, man made accounts of mythical things happening to them. Which is exactly what he's doing with this book.

yea but religion plays itself off as being of god. whereas research is openly admitting being from man. research has rational approaches to its conclusions. religion doesn't because it says it comes from god.

Science is the same thing the out come is derived from the observers who claims to be the expert of the moment saying they had control of its outcome rationale conclusion take the blue pill

Never been much of a religious person myself, but I do believe there is a plane of existence separate from our own and at times certain "beings" cross from that plane to ours.
