It's not weird, this song has a meaning: Official dance move explanation: 1st move - hands on the head "I am on fire"; 2nd move - hands stretching to opposite direction "I am stretch out to get some energy even more" 3rd move - hands on the sides of the head "I am getting focused" 4th move - both hands moving together "I am making/opening my way clear/bigger 5th move - "dusting out, cleaning myself from stereotypes ant ready to roll!" This song is about that "youth cult" in society, and if you above 30/40, its like you already too old... So he made this song to say : HELL NO!

I read that the dance actually has a deeper meaning. The song is about getting old and the dance moves is supposed to be about that and all have their different meaning. So even if I think the performance is superfunny and crazy it has a deeper meaning. See if I can find the explanation and post it here.

I agree....I was talking to people close to me...this song almost reinvigorated me in a way. I know a lot of people think I was just laughing at it but I genuinely enjoyed it...this was the most fun I've had making a reaction video in a LONG friggin' time. @@TheLethargicSloth Brandon I totally agree with you about The Roop. Right now it´s my second place after Italy. This year I´m realy happy with Festival da Cançao. I realy think all the entries are quite good in different genres. I don´t think there´s a realy "bad" song.Some I don´t like, the majority aren´t suitable for Eurovision but not because I think they´re bad, just my personal taste.I know that this year you´ll just react to the winner song for each country. But after that, I´ll tell you wich were my favourits. And this year for the first time I´ll see the Final of Festival da Cançao live at the arena. Can´t wait hahaha

At first I thought what is this? But it is growing on me and I am really liking it more and more. It is very quirky and distinctive. U are right & close to the main point when U're telling about a deep meaning conveyed by this song at 5'29. The lead signer confessed in an interview that he has been dealing with depression for a few years & he's now treated. Therefore he started seeing life in a more positive way again. This man is 38. He already has a life experience that some much younger performers attending Eurovision have not. Thus, he can share in his song a vision of human existence that most of them ignore, and more especially about challenging experience like depression. "On fire" is indeed a very entertaining song but above all a wonderful tribute to life whatever your AGE is: it focuses on prejudice about age when people are close to 40 and more. Society claims when U're 40 and above u are worth nothing. The Roop's lead singer Vaidotas Valiukevicius says & sings that mature people can still experience joy, energy and fun and give the same around them. This song is actually a funny creative tribute to self-respect and maturity. Getting old is a hardship if we let it become this in fact: western society that puts youth on a pedestal has to become more open: mature or old people can stay creative & useful to their community and give a lot to anyone. having fun & feeling burning desire is not a matter of age at all! That's the deep message of this song directly related to Vaidotas Valiukevicius' recent life experience. One more reason to vote for "On fire" at Eurovision.

So what is the Iceland/Lithuania connection. I keep hearing Irish voters say they always give points to Lithuania? Is that a tradition? Voting buddies or historical alliance in Eurovision? That's pretty interesting if that's the case...I don't remember hearing that before. :-)

@@TheLethargicSloth we have a ton of baltic immigrants, the first Lithuanians actually arrived in Ireland as refugees from the USSR... Before most of the Poles moved to the UK after 2008 we were voting Poland a lot too for a few years.... But this time everybody will vote for the roop I think, it's a sort of music /humour that will appeal to the Irish. The reverse seems to be true as the only points Dustin got that year were from Estonia Lithuania and Latvia I think
