Slow Motion test with Nikon D90

@MarigoldDigital You can actually set it so that just pressing the button once will keep it locked, Use these steps to set your camera for AE-L (hold): Menu > Custom Settings (Pencil Icon) > f (controls) >> Assign AE-L/AF-L Button > AE lock (hold) > OK

@Iceninja68 Its not a rack focus (at least definitely not with a D90). Its called the Bokeh effect. All you really do is turn a ring on the lens of the camera and that changes the focus from close to far. Unfortunately I don't know of any standard compact cameras that can do this, only DSLRs (e.g. Nikon D90s/D3100s, Canon 500Ds etc.) can do this really. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

You can set your AE/AF lock button so it only toggles AE lock. Thats what I use for video so I press the button and it keeps it locked.

@RoundTheBendFilms it is not meant to be a slow motion camera. the higher the frame rate and resolution the smoother the slow motion with be when you crank it down. check out other videos that have slow motion with high frame rates. it looks good... this camera shoots a low frame rate, which makes it look film like, but not smooth when slowed. cool?

wouldn't the blur in time warp be elimnated if you used a faster shutterspeed / had more light? I mean because the 24 Frames should be crystal clear shots a 1/500th of a second.

wouldn't it be because when using 24fps it means you must use 1/50 in shutterspeed, but then when u want to shoot something slowed down 50% you must use 1/100 or 1 /125 shutterspeed.

Hello Zan, maybe i could help you.. if you'r talking about D90 here the sitting for the movie.. first press (menu) in the camera, then go to (shooting menu) then choose (movie sitting) then (quality) and last choose from quality (1280*720)

that's my problem, now d7000 is better but still 30 fps, so i don't know if I should get a Canon only for fps. There's no possibility to augment in after effects the frame rate ? I dont know how, but for example when u do a morphing new frames are created from the "start frame" to the "end frame" so it is not possible to think about having a morphing between every frame to simulate an higher frame rate?

ahahaha, nice video man! love the look of everything! did you colorgrad at all? i have a nikon d90 to, hate the fact that they don't go to 60 fps :( ...day time is the best if you gonna do slow mo because the camera will choose a faster shutter which will give you sharper images... if that makes sense. ohh yeah and like some said make use of that exposure lock button!!. check out my channel for some slow motion drifting with nikon d 90 and go pro HD!

Try the program for after effects called "Twixtor" it creats VERY smooth slow mo. Its not free but pretty cheap and im sure you can get it "somwhere" for free
