Yes Marion, it is such a shame that you ever doubt yourself, because we watched your tawny owl come to life before our very eyes, and then saw him draw down slightly as if he was taking a good look at something, perhaps his......... "dinner" 😊 Stunning stunning stitching. ❤❤❤

Thanks so much Vicki. I really appreciate that. I think I just got off on the wrong foot because the chimney didn't look like it was in the correct scale. It put my focus off a bit. But all ended well I think..

Dear Marion (I feel like I'm going to write you a letter!). A thought popped into my head early in this video: (followed by a few others). I watch youtube creators for a variety of reasons. From some I learn techniques even if their style isn't close to my own. From some, I enjoy their aesthetic and I feel like it can inspire my own path of creativity. But with you, I feel like I found a kindred spirit of sorts. I so love the work you do it speaks to me on a soul-level. I fell in love with you when you showed off your Viking ship. I used to do small dollmaking and that's exactly the kind of doll I would have loved making and that ship... woah, that showed your skill level to be way higher than just a house-crafter. You have real artistic skills. Next thought: I think you like to share and teach. I also do. If I figure something out, I love when I can share that. I've taught various things across various subjects and I genuinely love the process of figuring out how people learn and how to convey information in useful ways. I sense that from you, as well - whether you've consciously realized it or not. :-) Finally, you talked about how that Kawandi video took off. I first heard the term Kawandi last week. I investigated and instantly fell in love with the look of Kawandi and seriously wanted to do some (my winter goal is: more slow stitching). And then, up you pop with a video! Serendipity. And if appealed to bunch of other people, extra-Serendipity. I will admit, I'm not sure - at this point in my creative journey - I'm up for the level on intricate stitching that you are doing. But you inspire me, nonetheless, and I love seeing what you do. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on the subscriber numbers. And oh... I loved the owl and couldn't find any fault in it. :-)

What an absolutely super message to read from you. Thank you so much.. I did start my channel almost by accident because when I posted that very first little video I thought only people I gave the link to would be able to see it. I never watched KZbin or was on social media at all. Just happy in my own space doing my own thing as it were. The whole thing has taken me by surprise! I hope you keep enjoying the things I'm doing. I'll just keep posting what I'm up to, which could be almost anything! :)

I have watched several KZbin channels for stitching inspiration, but you are my #1 favorite. You are the most creative lady I've seen. You make do with what you have, you think outside the box, and your surroundings give you and the rest of us inspiration. You have such a calming and sincere ability to get the message to us. You are humble and you are so talented. I watch several other KZbinrs who rattle on about such nonsense that I fast forward to get to see the stitching. I don't want to watch them spend 30 minutes cutting out flowers from fabric. I so appreciate your style of teaching us and respecting the viewers time. The editing you do on your videos is appreciated by me, and I am sure by many others. ❤ Thank you for teaching me to look out my window and see the possibilities awaiting and give me inspiration. You are my #1 go too!!!

Congratulations on subscriber numbers Marion. Lovely Tawny Owl. I last saw one some years ago looking down as people passed under him along a path at Martin Mere WWT. My husband and I spotted him and were thrilled at seeing one so close in daylight. Owls are a favourite of mine.
@marionsworld2411 ай бұрын
That must have been lovely. Tawnys start hooting not long after midday. I've never actually seen the one that sits on the chimney in the daylight. It's always when it's dark. I hear the hoot as if it's right at my door, then when i look out, he's there sitting on the chimney pot....

The duvet cover would make some perfect aprons. I have recently become a fan of aprons as they really do save a lot of washing, which save on the cost of living. Octogenarian here who recently got her sewing machine out of a very long attic exile which it didn’t survive. Getting a new one shortly as I can do some sewing to give my hands a rest from knitting. Made lots of clothes in the past until it became uneconomic due to cheap imports. I like hand sewing and embroidering, and have plenty of time to do so, but decided to do something a bit different just to stay active. I liked your owl, reminds me of one I embroidered in my teens. Mine was a beige owl shape, applqueted on orange background and the owl embroidered in various stitches. I intend to recycle stuff too.
@marionsworld2411 ай бұрын
I do love a good apron! Or pinnie as it's know up here... I was so pleased to find that duvet cover... it's really good quality cotton that has quite a vintage feel to it. It'll be perfect for whatever it ends up being I'm sure. I'm just about to start a bit of knitting... but I'll still be doig the sewing too. Thanks so much for your lovely message Wendy.

I think the tawny owl is delightful. It’s pure genius the way you used the bobbles to such great effect. I thought they’d be nice as grass seed heads too. And the duvet cover! That’s a brilliant idea (which I might copy if you don’t mind). It’s such a cheap way to get good fabric isn’t it? I bought a beautiful green t shirt in a charity shop for £3 and in the next shop a checked green tablecloth which is the perfect match. I’m going to cut the shirt down to make a bodice and add a skirt to make a dress. All for £7 total and with fabric to spare. So happy for your success Marion.

Thanks a lot Brenda. That scarf has given a lot for the princely sum of £1... It's great how things turn out sometimes...

Hello Marion, new sub here. I LOVE the tawny OWL, and I will try and make one. It is the best job I have seen in a long time on KZbin. I can't thank you enough for sharing your talents with us. LOVE all the birds you are doing. May thanks from West Virginia, USA.

Hello. Welcome to my channel. I'm so happy you liked what I did here. I have actually changed the eyes.. they just didn't look right to me. I took the beads off and embroidered them instead 😊
