Jeff Nippard hasn't done anything wrong. I've been following his advice and see only positive results. People at my gym have told me they like my physique. Jeff was literally under attack when a confirmed roid user assaulted him at the gym. In his latest video he simply added nuance to claims that people were clearly over exaggerating for the sake of spiting his information. I see people against the science and most of the time they just ego lift while hopped up on pre-workout. To each their own, though.

For the most part, I enjoy some of Jeff's content. Jeff was wrong about slower negatives building more muscle, but he corrected himself. As for Mike Israetel, he has several videos critiquing other influencers, so it's only fair to send some criticism his way from time to time; especially if he's objectively wrong. In the future, this video will age very well. The truth is undefeated.

I just want to put this out about the massage point. For the past year and a half, i’ve been battling tooth and nail with an imbalance and nagging pain on the entire left side posterior chain that has limited a lot of range of motion and muscle contraction in my back. I do a ton of flexibility and mobility work. I was getting to the point where I thought this was a legit muscle injury, possible tear in my lower back. I don’t ego lift or anything, and I focus on form over weight so I was confused. My issue is that I don’t know when to take deloads and will push through because I love the gym. I even went to the chiropractor and got an adjustment but the relief was short lived. This last week, I finally went and got a legit deep tissue 90 minute massage. That massage fixed about 80% of the pain and lack of ROM just like that. Massages absolutely work for recovery.

Would love to know what type of mobility you tried because I doubt you tried it all. Not even trying to knock you. You realize your diet can lead to horrible nagging pain & inflammation too and not knowing how to program accordingly. There's a reason why they say food is medicine. I'm 33 and was battling the WORST type of pains and what helped me was fixing my diet and the 'right' mobility for me. Not saying massages are bad, but from what I've seen, the only people who should get massages are mass monsters. The bigger you are, the less mobility you're going to have in general so doing the right stretches/mobility every week can save you from having to spend extra $$ and especially with everything costing so much damn $$. I'm glad to hear it helped though boss!
@Quawnn6 күн бұрын
@ i tried everything, I read the supple leopard, the ultimate self help guide for joint pains, along with rebuilding Milo. I foam roll,I have a a pre and post workout routine that involves static stretching and mobility exercises that I got from my other coach, Ben Patrick. I also worked a PT that works with the Denver bronoc/nuggets briefly and my strategy was approved by him. My lifting programming is solid, Chris made it for me when he was my coach. My diet is impeccable, I eat nothing but clean Whole Foods and drink plenty of water. I also do hot epson salt baths 2 times a week along with vitamin supplementation. Massages aren’t only for mass monsters, there is a reason why almost every elite level athlete gets them. You can easily tweak a muscle and lose range of motion. My program is elite because I learned from the best, Chris jones. I’m a student of the game and study this religiously, I just slept on getting real deep tissue massages and the importance of myofascial release.

I'm def seeing some people focusing way too much on science based lifting. This is coming from a Kinesiology major who wants to get into research. For example, this young guy at the gym I work at will literally debate and ruminate on the science behind lifting more than actually lifting. Also, the scientific literature constantly changes. ANYONE who speaks about strength training in absolutes is probably talking with their ego. Strength training and bodybuilding has some serious gaps in the literature. 9/10 the answer to most scientific lifting topics is that we really don't know, but we have some idea based on historical/anecdotal empirical evidence and limited scientific literature. That being said, because the scientific literature constantly changes, it seems a little overlysimplistic to label Dr. Mike as a charlatan. I also don't think a Dr. Mike has ever preached anything thats actually harmful.

For me, these videos are mostly entertainment. When I want to improve something like form, I turn to the science behind it. A lot of people act like their method is the ‘right’ one, but a critical mind can find flaws in almost anything and have a debate about it. “People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do”. - Isaac Asimov “Those who know do not speak. I don’t think your assumptions about why Jeff responded to Mike Van Wyck but not to Greg Doucette were fair. Direct response videos are not really Jeff’s style in general, so it makes sense that he hasn’t made a bunch of response videos to Greg. Mike Van Wyck was an exception, probably because a) the disagreement between Mike and Jeff was relevant to the core of Jeff’s approach and philosophy, b) it was indicative of broader sentiments that Jeff probably wanted to address, c) Mike posed a question to science-based lifters, which might’ve made Jeff want to answer it, and b) in addition to the other points, Mike basically called Jeff “mediocre” and a “scammer” (or at least whoever wrote the text in the video did) and has insulted Jeff in the past (albeit indirectly). There are other factors that could also be at play, so to say that Jeff only (or mostly) responded to Mike just to win and be a “bully” is pretty unfair. Also, Jeff actually has responded to Greg before, just not as a direct response video (indirectly in the RPE/AthleanX video and directly in the comment section).
@BeastmodeJones3162 күн бұрын
Mike Van Wyck didn't say Jeff's name when he dissed those "science based lifters. Therefore, Jeff did NOT have to reply publicly. He could have ignored Mike but he chose not to. Greg said Jeff's name and his girlfriends name, numerous times on videos. Jeff conveniently ignored Greg. Most men would agree that Greg's vids (about Jeff and Steph) were worse than Mike's one video. That says a lot about Jeff and his boundaries.📝📝 Again, I believe Greg was just too much for Jeff to handle, so he decided to ignore him. That's kinda smart. Jeff clearly knows his limits. Also, Greg had a lot of passionate fans that will troll his opponents, so I'm sure that most people (like Jeff) don't want to deal with that type of heat either. Ignoring Greg is best in order to avoid public embarrassment and excess trolling. Jeff can choose to publicly respond to whoever he wants.🤷♂️ Based off the facts, Jeff decided to stand up to Mike because it wasn't too much of a "mental" challenge for him. Mike still assaulted Jeff in-person tho (on camera). That's kinda embarrassing! I personally don't want to get beaten up on camera for the whole world (and my family) to see, so maybe Jeff should have ignored Mike like he ignored Greg. lol📝📝📝
@toowild66282 күн бұрын
@@BeastmodeJones316 There are multiple reasons why Jeff might've responded to Mike but not Greg. I don't think it's fair to assume that it was just because Mike seemed like an easier target than Greg. For example, you brought up Greg talking about Jeff's girlfriend. It's ironic that you brought that up because I'd argue that in itself might've made Jeff less inclined to give Greg attention. It might've caused him to not take Greg seriously as someone to engage with publicly. I actually did think about that when writing my initial comment but I decided that it was too speculative to include. Jeff runs an educational science-based fitness channel. It's not a drama channel, so it makes sense that he wouldn't have a bunch of videos responding to Greg Doucette talking about his girlfriend. It wouldn't exactly fit, would it? It especially wouldn't fit given that Jeff spends lots of time making high-quality videos that only come out every few weeks. It would be kind of weird if he went out of his way to instead make response videos about drama. The response to Mike Van Wyck fit the channel because it was a brief video that defended the core of Jeff's channel and approach. Just because Mike didn't name Jeff explicitly doesn't mean that it didn't make sense for Jeff to respond. And just because he responded to Mike but not Greg doesn't mean that he only did it because Mike was an easy target. Finally, you argue that Jeff should have ignored Mike to save himself the embarrassment of being assaulted. First of all, I don't think the situation was ultimately that "embarrassing" for Jeff - most of the online fitness community rallied behind him. Secondly, how was Jeff supposed to know that Mike would respond violently to Jeff calmly disagreeing with him? That's an insane response. Thirdly, this statement promotes the mentality that people shouldn't be able to disagree with each other without fear of physical violence. Unacceptable. That's an anti-discourse, anti-free-speech mindset. Fourthly, it's interesting that you ended the comment with "lol" after talking about Jeff getting assaulted and saying that he shouldn't have addressed Mike. You can clarify if I'm getting the wrong idea, but If you think that Mike assaulting Jeff was in any way justified then you are WRONG.

@toowild6628 Keep in mind, I have dm's and screenshots, so I most likely know things (about these influencers) that you don't. I know for a FACT that some of these guys only respond publicly to others influencers when they are very confident. lol Your comments show bias towards Jeff. That's fine!📝🤷♂️ We can respectfully agree to disagree on this topic. My thoughts on this are still the same. Like I said earlier, Jeff should have just ignored Mike. Jeff should have stayed "consistent" with his past actions, and ignored Mike; just like he clearly ignored Greg numerous times. However, if you want to debate me (on this topic) on camera, I'm down. Shoot me a dm @BeastmodeJones. We can make it happen this week. I would like to do this asap if you are interested. Bring your facts and ill bring mine too. We can let the people decide who's right and who's wrong. It will be fun. I'll articulate my points and dive MUCH DEEPER into this topic, if you show up for the debate. Let's make the debate happen asap. I'm hungry for a good debate. Topics: -Why do we "think" Jeff ignored Greg numerous times, but publicly responded to Mike Van Wyck instead? -Mike or Greg, Which man dissed Jeff the worse (on camera)? -Would ignoring Mike have been the overall wiser decision for Jeff? -Does Jeff care more about publicily defending the "science based community" versus defending himself and his own girlfriend? This will be fun. Shoot me a dm TODAY, if you are interested for a respectful debate. This can be enlightening for many men and women. I want to dive deep.💯📝

Well the thing is: "optimal" training is just a minor chance to increase hypertrophy for the average person. Imho many people benefit more from doing exercises they like and have fun with. And I wish more people would use slower negatives, it can really help avoiding injuries...again especially for the average person. With the science guys its like with ALL other dudes who give fitness advice, and at least in videos I watched Mike also states the same: You have to try it for yourself. Everyone is different, everyone responds different and besides some training principles, which are pretty much carved in stone, you have to find what works for you personally. I have watched so many videos of Mike and imho the one thing that should really be considered by everyone is to emphasize the stretch of the muscle under load...at least its my anecdotal experience that this was the factor that gave me some more progress after I seemed to reach my genetic limit 10 years ago. :D Dont watch fitness and bb content to find a strict guideline of what to do, but use it as inspiration to try new stuff, structure your next mesocycle etc etc. (sry english isnt my first language, but I hope anyone who read this got my point)
@BeastmodeJones316Күн бұрын
In my opinion, the best training advice is already out. The legends of the past already gave us great training advice. People were already getting in shape before all this science based hype. As a fan of natural bodybuilding content, I would like to see more entertainment in the natural bodybuilding community. We could use more inspiration and "personality." As you see, I was already talking about controlling the negative back in 2015' The "science" is still behind on training information. It will take many years for science to catch up. Them studies cost money and take time to produce. With that said, people should train hard, safe and do what they enjoy. If you don't enjoy your training, you won't stay in the gym longterm anyway. This is why I believe we could use more motivation online. Training is not very complicated.
@reuterss306Күн бұрын
@@BeastmodeJones316 True, but I think it's also human nature to try to improve things. I think it's quite normal that many people always try to find something that is “better”, even though 99% of these people should probably focus on more important aspects of their training. In the end, content is also about what gets clicked. That's why videos like “the best back training” or “the 3 best biceps exercises” are usually the videos with the most clicks. But to be fair this has been going on at least since the late 80s (here in germany), back then you had another new miracle workout routine or supplement in the magazines every month. :D So yeah, even though I like RPs channel because I personally find Mike very entertaining, I also miss some pure bb motivation. Like I did not agree with CT Fletchers workout methods, but damn he got me motivated shouting right in my face. :D Especially when you get older, you have to find ways to motivate yourself from time to time.

@reuterss306 yea I agree with you. Although we have good training info available to us, we should always aim to improve and increase our level of understanding.
