Fabulous paint finish on thr grandma. I love it. On my 03 grandma, I painted the centre part black and left the outer portion chrome.

I am at the same age as your son sir. You are man, boss!!! Following this grandma project very closely as I too own 2003 grandma which I facelifted to an 2011 all by myself from the front end, wheels to the rear end. And I do almost every repair, maintenance and mods myself on her. So I am very much interested in this project of yours and I really hope that you give us some even better mods on her in the future so I too can do some of them on mine. Grill turned out Great. Awesome restore Kit. I've used aluminum polish and tooth paste with a lot of Elbow Grease and not have the same result!!

Those 2004's got that old lady crap paint. The blacked out grille and headlights look awesome on my dark green grand marquis which has black B pillars since it's a 2003. Anything newer has them painted the same color as the car. Bogus.

I live in Calhoun, GA. Where can I go get a color match paint put in a spray can. I also have a 2004 grand marquis it could actually be the same color as yours. I’m wanting to touch up on some areas especially the front bumper. But I’m looking to paint my grill black. Are there any suggestions what I should get to paint my grill black?

Any paint is good as long as the surface is prepped. I like any sort of rust paint as it seems to spray a bit thicker. Better protection against rock chips.

If I was to repaint #projectLOWFAREmont Gold Ash Metalic might be a good candidate. But I don't have to worry about that, because I ain't doing that! This was definitely the right move to make this look more sporty and less senior cruiser. Now she needs a slight stance adjustment and it's totally baller! I think the same headlight company reached out to me too. So, please if you select my name out of the comments, go ahead and re-draw. Pretty impressive product.

I never felt any need to modify any of my Grand Marquis. I'm definitely not a fan of those huge ghetto wheels and tires with one inch sidewalls. On my '05, which was white, the alloy wheels were pretty tarnished up and had some curb rash. I found a set of good condition gloss black steel 16" cop car wheels (before they came out with the 17" ghettos) repainted them, and got some brand new chrome cop center caps. I'm an amateur radio operator, so I had three antennas on the trunk lid. I live in AZ, so I got an AZ flag for a front license plate. To somebody that didn't really know what they were looking at, it looked a lot like a cop car. I even thought about putting fleet numbers on it, but decided not to. The grille doesn't look bad, but I prefer chrome. I even wish it had chrome bumpers, 15" wheels with whitewalls and full stainless steel wheel covers, and a vinyl top. My dad had a 1975 Ford LTD, Ginger Brown with a tan vinyl top. That was a beautiful car. As much as I like the Grand Marquis and Crown Vic, they do look somewhat like a much larger version of a '90s Toyota Camry. These cars need an oil change every 3000 miles if you want them to last 400,000 miles.

Omg this is like my dream come true I'm doing all of the same things to my 2008 grand Marquis, but can't fight a spray that matches. I think that's my cars color is that paint code HG smokestone metallic? If so where can I get that exact spray paint. Mine didn't match at all and I used Sherwin williams automotive paint

My paint code is C2, Gold Ash Metallic! If you want to match the paint color, find a parts store like Napa or Carquest that mixes paint into spray cans. That's what i did and it only cost $30.

When you open the drivers door there should be a white tag on the door (or on the door jamb). Ig you look at the bottom left corner, it will reas "EXT PNT:" follower by two characters. That is your paint code. Both my local Napa and Carquest mix spray bombs in single stage (no clear coat required) or in base coat. They should be able to provide you with the appropriate clear to finish the job! I hope this helps.

@@pfresh IMHO base clear provides better protection due to more layers of paint & clear. Having said that, single stage leaves a great finish and is much quicker (less coats needed).

Yes they are the same as a Mustang. 2002 and older Grand Marquis/Crown Victoria will require wheel spacers due to a different suspension set up in the older cars.

I got mine at my local Carquest store But any Napa or parts store that sells paint should be able to help you. All you need is the paint code off your door sticker and they should be able to put it into a spray bomb for you.
