Nyjah, Yuto, Jordan and Foy were amazing. Happy Yuto pushes Nyjah more than ever. Nyjah impressively, chooses to either wreck himself or win. Contest seems to lack the spontaneity of previous years. It is probably the natural evolution of a high scoring big section. All the new skaters know that is the only place to win. Hopefully, they start scoring Evan Smith and Ishod Wair type craziness higher in the future. It would be nice if the skaters felt more like they were in a demo than a contest. Thanks to Jordan for the crazy backboard attempts, hope he was wearing a cup!

This was one of the best SLS events in a long time! Not a bail fest like the last one. Huge hammers getting put down, the scoring was relatively fair, and the course was sick. Anyone hating on SLS because Nyjah one is simply a hater. He had 2 flawless runs (unless you want the judges to dock him like 3 points for dropping his board with his hands), and one of the most insane bangers of 2019 and one of the most insane tricks in SLS history. I'm a Dashawn Jordan and Gustavo Ribeiro fan, but Nyjah earned this.

He's a truly amazing skater, but you notice Nyjah doesn't get the same kind of love from other competitors. When Yuto won his first big contest, the other skaters were super hyped for him. When Oskar Rozenberg won the VPS in 2018 the dudes he just defeated swarmed him and lifted him above their heads. Nyjah has everyone's respect, but it doesn't seem like anyone on the deck is rooting for him.
