As far as I am aware, the two guys behind Slugdge, while being 100% about the instrumental parts, are going for an, at the same time somewhat ridiculous, as well as serious approach concerning their lyrical content. They've created a, from what I could tell so far, rather Lovecraft-inspired storyline/lore about, well, slugs and slug-gods basically. Unusual, but why not? Also, that concept makes for some pretty damn good puns as song titles, such as "Crop Killer" and, a little joke/hommage to the classic death metal band Bolt Thrower; "Salt Thrower". I just discovered them a few months ago but damn, they're putting out top grade music! Esoteric Malacology as a whole is amazing, might want to check out the opener "War Squids" too, it's got a pretty epic chorus part.

If I'm not mistaken, malacology is the study of molluscs. These guys might be closet biology professors. Great song.
