My mum used vaseline as moisturiser and so did I until I had my daughter and then my skin didn't like it for some reason. However I'm 50 and when I first met my aesthetician she couldn't believe I'd had no fillers or botox. I still jokingly ask her, do I need botox, she always says no! I definitely put it down to the vaseline and taking vitamin E every night x

Its not just Korea & its a 'secret' thats been around since the golden days of Hollywood, Marilyn Monroe used to layer her face,body with vasaline & then her makeup &powder over the top to achieve that iconic glow. I first heard of the benefits when modelling in the late 70s early80s.. Also around the same time,I was at at a lunch party where Joan Collins & others were extolling the benefits of vasaline, especially around the eyes at night. I've been using it every night over ,either E45 or Cetraben - 2 moisturisers,that are actually prescribable by doctors in UK - since then,even just vasaline; applied just before i turn off the light,if too lazy -,it seems to have a beneficial effect on eyebrows & lashes,too - & unlike watching the effects of short term use by people in their 20s& 30s, i have to say at 60 i can definitely vouch for the long term effects.

Tks for extra tips; I happen to use all the products you mention but not the same way, so tku for that. I only began slugging last week.I turned 69 this summer and people regularly comment on my "nice skin," (likely bcs I stay out of the sun and don't wear globs of makeup, mostly only cream blush, eyebrows and lip balm). My forehead and cheek wrinkles are problem areas. After less than a week using vaseline, (always sleep on my back w/my hair up), forehead wrinkles diminished, cheek lines look, well, better. Slugging really works. However, one thing you didn't mention is how often to slug. I haven't done it for the past three days, and wrinkles are still gone and skin still feels so soft. Xtra tip: Used it on dry elbows and surrounding skin, knees and legs. Really softened those areas.

i love doing the “slugging” technique by using Vaseline on my face as the last step in my skincare routine in the PM to seal in the moisture. It has done wonders for my dry sensitive skin! My only issue is in the morning I only wash my face with water and no cleansers as my skin is sensitive and dry, but I am worried that when I apply sunscreen in the morning it is not forming the proper layer of film it needs to form with my skin to provide that sun protection??? Due to the Vaseline being an occlusive and not letting the sunscreen inside?? So should I be washing my face with a proper cleanser in the morning to remove the Vaseline off my face before applying sunscreen in the morning??? Or do you think washing with water is enough and that sunscreen will be fine to apply on top of it?

Why did you choose to not mention that those are affiliate links? Not a big deal, but it seems sketchy to not mention that as you’re already talking about it

I thought Vaseline is not safe for long term use, because it’s made from petroleum. What can I use instead? Olive Oil? Coconut Oil?
@ArsalanAspires Жыл бұрын
Shea butter has been used as an alternative and has a low comedogenic rating.

Vaseline is perfectly fine as it is purified. It is GRAS (generally recognized as safe) and a good mark for safety is if they allow it to be used in baby products. Now, if you are opposed to petroleum use, that’s a different kettle of fish.

I really believe that winter acne is largely due to dry skin.
@norvaz942 жыл бұрын
@@Josh-fp2qn That could have been my case many years ago. I would get the worst cystic acne in the winter. Thankful for Acutane. I went on it in 2007 and have been clear since.

What about rough, dry bumpy arms..is there a video for this?

Maybe look up keratosis pilaris (KP), also known as chicken skin.

Thanks for your question. 2-3 times a week seems to be a sweet spot.
