Ramblings from a GM: George and Amanda either have fantastic imrov chemistry or they both put in lots of time/energy into the pre-established Mary lore. And honestly it’s probably a bit of both! Amanda constantly references things she believes to be immutable truths in Mary’s introduction. Dad’s loud car. Mom showers in the morning. Mom doesn’t like windows open. And George always is following along, yes and-ing her. Either way, clearly lots of passion and energy has gone into this, George’s strength as a GM seems to come from his ability to think on his feet and respond quickly to sometimes WILDLY different tone shifts/left field decisions from his (comedian) players Honestly if George had a series on Smosh Games where he introduced improv comedians/character comedians to TTRPGs in 1-3 episode bites, I would absolutely be sat.

I can't even begin to describe how much joy seeing them dip further into the world of TTRPGs would bring me. They all do such good character work that I'm sure whatever they'd play they'd kill it. Kids on Bikes, Monster of the Week, Blades in the Dark, Cain, Mork Borg, DIE, Spire(I NEED Angela with the powers of an Inksmith)- there's so many games I'd love to see them jump into. I know they never would because there's like ZERO comedic value in it and it's probably difficult to shoot in a visually interesting way but Alice is Missing is also on that list, lol. here's hoping the reception to Dread is good enough to prompt more experimentation! :')

It's actually crazy how I completely forgot I was watching a Smosh video. Even when they were pulling pieces and joking with each other, I saw Mary, I saw Tabitha, I saw Tampa, I saw Mackenzie, I saw the dog, and I even saw the setting the story was taking place in so clearly. The way Joe is kind of a dick to her, as some big brothers are, Jacob just ignores her, and then Jeremey actually tries to connect and be nice to her but there's such a gap from the age difference- she just loves her brothers and wants to hang out with them but to them she's just their kid sister, the annoying kid sister in Joe and maybe Jacob's cases.(For reference I'm about 34 minutes into the video at the time of making this comment)

Not me crying at chanse’s character bc I grew up the youngest with 4 older brothers and being treated so differently and foreign was so sad and confusing. It feels validating to see it acted it out that the logical response is sadness when I’ve been told I always just needed to get over it. This is what my childhood was like and it’s not like trauma but it’s still a little tough emotionally. I think it’s why I realized that my traits are not inherently tied to my gender. I just have interests. I just have hobbies. I never understood why I was excluded from “boy” things.
